Chapter 481

Chapter 481

"Honey, I'm so in love with the man you are now."

Ian glanced down and pecked her lips. "How much do you love me?"

Clara tilted her head back, pondered for a few seconds, then said, "Probably like I'm ready to ride or die with you."

"Sweetheart!" Ian chuckled, kissing her forehead gently, "If that day ever comes, I won't let you face it."

He cradled Clara's face in his hands, their foreheads resting against each other.

Their warm breath intertwined.

His deep, magnetic voice wrapped around Clara's ear.

"From this moment on, I'll protect you and our little one with my life. My goal for the rest of my days is to make you two the happiest. My wife, I love you."

Then, his hot lips softly captured Clara's plump ones.

Amidst their mingling breaths, Clara murmured softly, "Babe, I love you too."

After so many farewells and reunions, they were finally confessing their hearts in the sanctity of their bedroom. Only they knew the true

depth of emotions suppressed within.

Soon, the room's atmosphere turned sultry.

Clara hadn't felt this way in a while; a simple kiss and she was utterly lost.

Her flushed cheeks rubbed against Ian's chest, her moist eyes filled with uncontainable desire.

In a soft, powerless voice, she whispered, "Ian, are you sure it won't hurt the baby?"

Ian kissed her forehead again and reassured her, "No, I checked with the doctor. She said it'll be fine as long as we're gentle."

At his words, Clara's cheeks blossomed with an even deeper red. "You're so shameless. How could you ask such things?"

Ian scooped her up, laughing, "I've asked more embarrassing questions than that. Like how often we should make love in a week, what speed is considered fast, and—"

He was cut off as Clara pressed her lips to his, her eyes glaring playfully. "No more talking."

"Alright, no more words, just actions, okay?"

As he spoke, Clara felt a familiar sensation wash over her. This content provided by N(o)velDrama].[Org.

She couldn't help but let out a gentle moan, a sound that persisted late into the night.

---

At 22 weeks pregnant, Clara's belly was noticeably rounder.

But she didn't look swollen. Her complexion was rosy and bright.

Rose watched her with a smile. "Clara, you can't even tell you're pregnant from behind. They say a figure like that means it's a boy, and that's great! The Hayes family could use an heir."

Marian shook her head with a chuckle, "I'm guessing it's a girl. May carried just like Clara when she was expecting. Just look at Clara's glow. It's said to be that way with girls. It would be lovely to have

a girl in this generation of the York family."

"Boy or girl, we'll love them all the same," Marian added.

Clara watched the two old women be more excited than she was and said with a laugh, "Grandma, Grandma Rose, we'll find out at the ultrasound, so no need to guess. Whether it's a boy or girl, it's already been decided."

"Good, you two go ahead. We'll wait here and prepare something delicious."

The two septuagenarians shrugged off their coats and made their way to the kitchen, still chuckling.

Ian wrapped an arm around Clara. "Do you hope for a son or a daughter?"

Clara thought for a moment. "Truthfully, I'd love a daughter, but for the Hayes family, I hope it's a son. That way, you won't be as worn out as you are now when he grows up."

Ian smiled, caressing her cheek. "Mrs. Hayes, you're so considerate. Are you trying to make me fall head over heels for you?"

He squished Clara's face together, kissed her lips again, and said with a smile, "Let's go find out if we're having a son or a daughter."
