Chapter 1886 Heavenly Demon Tower

Chapter 1886 Heavenly Demon Tower

"Fine! If you really don't have any intention of surrendering the Purgatorial Tripod, you need to prove that you have sufficient strength to protect it," the king said after thinking for a while. At this moment, he was already worried about Enoch's rebellion. Hence, he deemed that he could not make an enemy of Rocky, which might cause Layla to rise in revolt, too. If that happened, the royal family would no longer be able to stand on its own. Therefore, instead of urging Rocky to return the tripod, he thought of giving the young man a chance.

"What do you want me to do to prove it, Your Majesty?" Rocky asked, slightly letting out a frown. Of course, he knew that the king would not give him an easy task if he was willing to compromise.

Then, the king paused for a while and said, "Enter the Heavenly Demon Tower. If you can overcome the tower, then I will allow you to guard the Purgatorial Tripod."

"The Heavenly Demon Tower?" Rocky repeated, narrowing his eyes. He had been in the Shura Race for a long time, but it was his first time hearing about it. However, he was certain that the information about the Heavenly Demon Tower should be stored somewhere in King Corey's memory.

The expressions on Layla's and the royal members' faces also changed. It seemed that they all knew about the tower.

In fact, the Heavenly Demon Tower was not an ordinary place. It was a forbidden area within the royal family, and one could only enter it with the king's permission.

In the Heavenly Demon Tower, the spirit of a demon that once caused chaos in the Shura Race was sealed. Moreover, it was also home to powerful martial spirits, who had followed the demonic race in the past. It was said that every one of them was above the Shura Realm.

On the other hand, the Heavenly Demon Tower was a good place to cultivate, especially for Shura Realm masters, since it was located above a spiritual cave. Furthermore, if one had enough strength,

they could take the chance to refine the martial spirits in the tower and cultivate their soul.

Among the royal family, the only ones that could enter the Heavenly Demon Tower were the king, some elders, and the extremely powerful Shura Realm masters that were acknowledged by the king.

For the king to ask Rocky to do this task, almost everyone else in the hall thought that he was deliberately sending the young man to his death. After all, they did not know that Rocky's strength had already reached the Shura Realm.

"All right then. I will do it," Rocky agreed immediately.

"Odin, think about it first. I know the Heavenly Demon Tower, and it will not be easy to come out of it safe and sound," Layla warned. Then, she turned to the king and said, "Your Majesty, I think your condition is too harsh."

"Harsh? He is the one who insists on protecting the Purgatorial Tripod instead of handing it over to me. If he doesn't even have the strength to get past the Heavenly Demon Tower, how can he protect it then?" the king retorted.

"It's okay, Layla. As long as His Majesty will let me guard the Purgatorial Tripod, I won't refuse to take whatever kind of test it is," Rocky said with confidence.

"I see. You are indeed a brave young man. Then, I will give you enough time to prepare. You shall enter the Heavenly Demon Tower tomorrow!" the king declared.

"I don't need any preparations. I can do it now. The sooner I start, the sooner I can finish, right?" Of course, Rocky's indifferent words surprised everyone.

The royal members present looked at each other and thought that Rocky was being too conceited. They could not help but think that if Rocky had that attitude when he entered the tower, he would end

up dead.

"I can permit you to go now. Are you sure about that?" The king was also surprised that he would get this kind of response from Rocky. But if the young man insisted, he would not prevent him from doing so.

"Yes, I want to do it right away," Rocky answered firmly.

"Fine. Come with me." Without further ado, the king stood up from the throne and left the hall.

At the same time, Rocky, Layla, and the other members of the royal family also followed the king.

As they followed the king, they eventually saw a milky white seven-floor tower at the end of a road within the Royal Land.

"Odin, there are many powerful martial spirits sealed in the Heavenly Demon Tower. Most importantly, a powerful spirit of a demon is sealed on the top floor. Be very careful, and do not be reckless," Layla informed Rocky, sounding a bit anxious.

"I see. Thank you for the heads-up." Then, all of a sudden, a fragment of memory came to his mind which seemed to be related to the Heavenly Demon Tower.

After comprehending the information from the memory, he learned that most of the martial spirits and the spirit of the demon that were sealed in the tower were killed by King Corey. Because of all the powerful martial spirits in there, it was helpful for Shura Realm masters to cultivate their souls. Right after Rocky broke through to the Shura Realm, he never had the chance to cultivate his soul, so he deemed that it would be a good opportunity for him to do it in the Heavenly Demon Tower.

Furthermore, it seemed that there was a legend stating that if one could subdue the spirit of the demon on the top floor of the tower, they would be able to obtain a divine treasure that could let them cultivate

their soul.

The divine treasure could not only attract martial spirits but also improve the effect brought by cultivating and merging the martial spirits. Of course, for strong warriors, this treasure was definitely coveted. More importantly, it seemed that no one was able to acquire it yet.

A moment later, they finally arrived in front of the Heavenly Demon Tower.

"Odin, you may now enter!" The king issued his permission.

"I just have a question. What do I need to do in order to be considered that I have overcome the tower?" Rocky asked before he started walking towards the tower's entrance.

"All you need to do is reach the top floor and come out through the transmission door. After that, you are deemed to have passed this task," the king briefly explained.

Rocky just nodded and walked towards the tower without any hint of hesitation.

Although the Heavenly Demon Tower was incomparably huge, its entrance was only enough for a single person to enter. The door was kept open, but no one could see anything inside it. From the outside, the inside of the tower was as dark as the abyss.

"I've already seen a lot of things, but I still find this one weird." Rocky heaved a deep sigh first before he eventually walked inside.

The moment he entered the tower, he was engulfed by total darkness.

But gradually, his sight adapted to the minimal light that the tower had. Hence, he was still able to faintly see. Then, he noticed that there were six doors around, and they all looked the same.

If it was an ordinary person, they would have been confused already. However, since Rocky obtained Corey's memory, differentiating them was not really a difficult thing.

After searching from the memories that he inherited from the king, Rocky immediately knew where he was and what he needed to do. It turned out that right now, he was in the void between the Heavenly Demon Tower and the outside world.

Moreover, in order to enter the real Heavenly Demon Tower, he needed to enter the correct door. Once he entered the wrong door, the positions of the six doors would change, and he would need to start from square one again. Under normal circumstances, a warrior would need to rely on luck just so he could succeed.

Of course, even if someone was very powerful, luck was still an essential part of their strength. Belongs © to NôvelDrama.Org.

However, as Corey's successor, Rocky did not really need to rely on luck. After all, he found in the memories left to him that there was a way to identify the correct door. All he needed to do was use his spiritual power to attract the martial spirits inside the tower and resonate with them. This way, he could easily determine which door led to the Heavenly Demon Tower.

If it weren't for Corey's memories, Rocky would not be able to think of this method. Thus, he could not help but admit that Corey was indeed a genius.

Immediately after, Rocky released his spiritual power and let it spread around the room.

Before long, he felt a strong aura of martial spirits coming from a door on the left. It seemed that the marital spirits inside the tower had sensed his power.

Then, all of a sudden, a strong suction force came from the door, and he was sucked into it.
