A Deal With The Millionaire

Chapter 38

Chapter 38

” Great then ” Alec said with a smile. ” So what do I do now? ” Shane asked anxiously. ” Just go over to her house and tell her how you feel ” Alec replied simply.

Shane let out a sigh not sure of what to do. ” Like how should I do that? ” He asked slowly in embarrassment, itching his neck. Alec let out a chuckle. ” Come on, you’ve had previous girlfriends in the past, how did you ask them out? ” Alec asked instead.

Shane sighed again. ” It’s been long, I don’t know how to go about it anymore ” He muttered and Alec let out a smile. ” Alright, you just walk up to her and tell her how you feel about her, and that’s all. You could start by asking her, her sudden reason for leaving the coffee shop ” Alec suggested and Shane nodded thoughtfully.

” Alright, I can try this ” He muttered and Alec nodded. ” But now, we should go get some sleep ” Alec said, hanging his arm around Shane’s neck. ” Yeah. I have a big task to do tomorrow ” He muttered the last part to himself.

With this, the two friends walked their way to Shane’s Suite. They got to his room and Alec was the first to lie on the bed while Shane also did the same and they both slept side by side.

Shane released a huff as he sat on his seat in his office. Claus bowed lowly and he waved his hands, gesturing for him to speak on. Claus got this and started.

” There’s not really much for you to do today. All you need to do is approve those documents in front of you, you also have a brief meeting with Mr Lancaster concerning the contract. And about Tina… ” Claus paused to see Shane’s reaction but he wasn’t even looking up. His eyes was glued to a document he was tending to tho it doesn’t really seem like he was really concentrating on that.

Seems like he has so much going on in his head at that moment. Claus released a silent sigh. ” Should I come back later? ” Claus asked but Shane shook his head. ” No, go on ” He said and he raised his head to Claus, dropping the document in his hands.

” Ok than ” Claus said and continued. ” I really think Tina needs an assistant, the works are becoming immensely too much for her to handle alone. I would really advise you get her an assistant ” Claus suggested. ” Did she ask you to tell me this? ” Shane asked with a suspicious look but Claus shook his head immediately.

” No sire, she didn’t. It’s just a suggestion from me ” Claus muttered and Shane nodded. ” Alright inform… ” He paused as his thoughts headed somewhere else.

” Alright, you shouldn’t worry about that. I have someone in mind ” He said and Claus nodded. ” I will take my leave then ” Claus said with a light bow. Shane approved of this as he gestured his hands for him to leave and with that, Claus made his way out of Shane’s office.

Shane was finally left alone, he let out an heavy sigh he’s been keeping in.

Yeah, it’s Layla. He really can’t help but fidget on realizing that he really was about confessing his hidden feelings to Layla. It’s pretty obvious she wouldn’t agree to this and he has made up his mind to keep on trying even if she opposes his request.

He’s going to try his possible best to make her agree, it might not be now but later on. But for now, he still have to know if she feels the same way he feels or not.Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

It’s really bothering him a lot. He had Layla in mind when Claus had talked about getting an assistant secretary for Tina. He really hopes she accepts this second offer of his too.

He kept playing with the pen on his hand, rolling it with the tip of his fingers as he was lost in thoughts.

** Mocha Coffee Shop **

” Do you think they’re coming today? ” Mr Cyrus asked Mirah for the umpteenth time as he kept stretching his neck to get a clear view of the entrance to see if he would see any glimpse of the two but as usual was disappointed.

Mirah released a silent sigh. ” I don’t really know sir but I will suggest we keep on checking ” She replied tiredly, still on her seat. They were beside the counter. ” Alright then, inform me when they’re here ‘ Mr Cyrus said to Mirah and she nodded.

With this, Mr Cyrus walked away into the room, after glancing at the door’s entrance again.

Mirah let out a huff as she sat down properly on her seat and laid her head on the desk before her. She’s missing Layla so badly. She’s probably at home at that moment, or she’s out trying to get a new job. They’re having only two classes by afternoon and she was having a morning shift at work while Layla stayed back at home.

Mitch walked over to her. ” Hey ” She said with so much authority in her voice. Mirah wasn’t really in the mood to answer her but she raised her head anyways. She arched her brows and Mitch let out a scoff.

” I’m taking care of Mr Kent and Mr Hyde’s order today ” She said and Mirah couldn’t help but release a mocking laugh.

” Really?, I can’t wait to watch you do so ” Mirah said and Mitch raised her brows.

” And what’s that supposed to mean? ” Mitch asked. ” Nothing ” Mirah replied with a short chuckle. ” Gosh, you’re so weird and dumb ” Mitch said and Mirah scoffed.

” It’s nice to hear a witch like you tell me about the qualities she possess ” Mirah said with a smirk that annoyed Mitch. She stumped her feet on the floor before walking away angrily. Mirah chuckled silently before returning to placing her head on the desk.

*** The Girl’s Apartment ***

They were just back from school, it was evening already. Mirah who got home tiredly had fallen into a deep sleep while Layla was battling with her assignments.

She heard the door bell ring and she dropped her pen, lifting her body off the ground. She made her way to the door. She twisted the door knob and was more than shocked to see Shane standing by the door.

” Shane.. ” She muttered as her heart started the irregular beating. She was suddenly nervous but she tried her best to hide it. ” Hi ” She said again.

” Can I come in? ” Shane asked instead and she nodded, immediately making way for him.

He entered and Layla, still standing by the door, held her chest to feel her heartbeat. She sighed and tried her best to calm down before walking back in after closing the door behind.

She had expected Shane to sit but he was standing instead. ” You should have your seat ” She muttered but he stood still.

That got Layla more nervous as he stared at her endlessly with a glint of an emotion she couldn’t read on his face.

” Shane.. ” ” I’m here to talk to you ” He said, cutting off and she nodded.

” Why did you leave? ” He suddenly asked. ” Oh? ” Layla asked at once without sparing much time to digest his words.

” Oh, I mean nothing ” She found herself saying the total opposite of what she was supposed to say.

Shane’s raised brow made her get herself together. ” I mean.. I have reasons ” She muttered again. Shane whose hands were pocketed wasn’t really getting was Layla was seeing. ” You mean you left for no reason? ” He asked. Layla left out a short sigh. ” I left cause I felt if I kept seeing your face, I might keep on falling for you ” She muttered instead in her head.

” I left ’cause it was a bit stressful and tiring, coupled together with school work ” She said and Shane nodded thoughtfully, suddenly deciding in his head against informing her about the job as an assistant secretary in his company.

” So, why are you here? ” Layla’s voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He was suddenly short of words and his nervousness took the best out of him.

” I.. I.. I badly wanna tell you something ” He was finally able to voice out. ” Ok, go on ” Layla replied almost impatiently for what he was about to say.

” I know it’s wrong, but I have fallen for you. I’m in love with you Layla ” Those were the words he was to voice out, but he couldn’t. He suddenly couldn’t find his voice. ” Shane.. you aren’t saying actual words ” Layla said, urging him to speak on.

” Alright, this is big but I really can’t keep it in anymore. I’m in love with you Layla. I am ” He finally voiced out those words taking Layla by shock.
