Chapter 536: Here, It Hurts. It Hurts Too Much
Chapter 536: Here, It Hurts. It Hurts Too Much
"No, no, I am not asking you to leave." Chace hurriedly interrupts her, "Alright, let's not talk about this.
Remember, if you feel uncomfortable, just tell me or the servant."
He takes over Jessie's phone and says, "What kind of book do you usually listen to? I'll set it up for
you. The next time you want to listen to the books, just wake up the voice assistant and say the name
to it."
"..."
Chace sets up all the books that Jessie likes and chats with her for a while.
Seeing the faint smile on her face, Chace also feels happy. Just as he is about to say that he will take
her out for a picnic tomorrow, his phone on the bedside table rings.
Chace glances at it and picks it up, "Damn it, why do you call me now?"
"I saw your post." The man sounds drunk and tired, "Come to the club."
Chace shouts, "Are you in Country Y?"
"Yes."
"Are you kidding me?" Chace rolls his eyes and says unhappily, "There are so many cities in Country Y,
how the hell do I know which city you are in? Are we in the same place?"
The man is very impatient. "I'm at Blacks. Get your ass over here!"
Blacks is the bar where Chace has brought his friends when discussing business last time. It turns out
that Leigh is really in the same district as him!
Chace rubs his eyebrows and sighs, "Fine, I'll go. But I need some time to change my clothes."
After hanging up the phone, Chace helplessly says to Jessie, "My friend has come to Country Y and is
drinking at the Blacks. He might have some trouble, so I have to go to see him. Good night."
Jessie nods and says softly, "Be careful and come back early."
"I can't make a promise, now that he gets so drunk." Chace sighs.
It remains a question whether he can come back tonight.
He walks to the door and turns back again to say, "I'll take you out for a picnic tomorrow. Good night."
"Good night."
Hearing the sound of the door being closed, Jessie still has a strange feeling.
She recognized that voice. It sounds like Leigh.
Then she shakes her head. It is improbable that the man who happened to save her will know Leigh.
--
After arriving at Blacks, Chace hurriedly steps in and searches for Leigh everywhere.
Finally, he sees Leigh on the sofa in the corner.
"Holy shit, are you crazy?" Seeing the mess on the table, Chace can't help but scold him, "This is
brandy, not beer. Do you want to die here?"
Leigh opens his eyes and looks at him, signaling Chace to sit beside him.
"Sit down."
"Damn it!" Chace rolls his eyes and forcefully snatches the cup from Leigh's hand.
He calls for a waiter to clean up the table and bring some sobriety pills.
Chace then sits down beside Leigh and frowns, saying, "What's wrong with you? You seemed to have
been in a bad state for a period, and now you're more like a ghost."
"I can't find her." Leigh lies on the sofa, one hand on his forehead, his voice hoarse, "She has gone."
He has searched for her for many days here, but he can't find her anyway.
Chace stuffs the sobriety pills into Leigh's mouth and asks, "You made yourself like this just for a
woman? Who are you looking for, your wife?"
"I don't take medicine!" Leigh pats his hand away and spits out the pills, "I need wine! Bring the wine!"
"You already drank three bottles of brandy. Isn't that enough?"
"No." Leigh shakes his head and pokes his finger at his heart as he says hoarsely, "Here, it hurts. It
hurts too much. Only when I'm drunk, it won't hurt for a while."
"..."
Looking at Leigh, Chace sighs and says, "We have known each other for so long. You are always high-
spirited and free. I have never seen you like this."
Leigh looks at the chandelier above his head and mutters, "Is that so? Why does my heart hurt so
much ..."
He can't find her. Nowhere.
Whenever he thinks of her, he will feel hurt.
Leigh takes a deep breath and shouts at the waiter, "I want to drink! Bring the wine over!"
"Stop drinking. You're going to die!" Chace grabs him while stopping the waiter, "Wake up! You idiot!
There are so many women in the world. Isn't it easy for you to get a wife?"
Leigh glares at him with a gloomy expression, "What the hell do you know!"
"Fine. I know nothing. You do!" Chace chuckles and mocks him, "Who the hell used to say that money
is more important than women? If you do know everything, how come you have become like this?"
Leigh is stunned.
After a while, he says desperately, "Yeah, I’m an idiot."
"Why did she lie to me? Why ..." He grits his teeth as he hugs his own head, in which he feels so
painful. "Why did she kill my child? Why ..." Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Why can’t he just give up her?
"What did you say?" Chace does not hear him clearly. He leans over and says, "Who lied to you? Why
what?"
Leigh suddenly raises his head and says coldly, "I need wine! Give me the wine!"
"Alright, alright. Waiter!"
Chace is a little scared. After all, he can't beat Leigh. He calls the waiter over and asks him to bring the
beer for him.
After the beer is delivered, Chace watches as Leigh drinks the beer as if he is drinking water while
keeping muttering, "Why did she lie to me". Chace's expression is gloomy and he can't help but sigh
secretly.
Chace doesn't try to stop him anymore. He knows that Leigh won't listen to him. If Leigh gets angry
over him, Leigh may beat him.
Chace drinks several cups with him.
The two drinks until one o'clock in the morning.
After Leigh is completely drunk and lies on the sofa, Chace asks a waiter to help him move Leigh to a
taxi.
Back at home.
After entering the house, Chace tries so hard to drag him upstairs, and then to the side bedroom, which
is exhausting.
"Fuck, Leigh, you idiot!" Chace rubs his aching arm and curses, "If you weren’t my good friend, I would
have left you there!"
Chace throws Leigh on the carpet and kindly throws a blanket on him, and then he takes the bed.
By the time Chace wakes up, it is already past eight o'clock in the morning.
He goes to the bathroom to wash up and comes out to see Leigh still on the carpet. He remembers that
he dragged Leigh back last night and goes over to kick him. "Hey, wake up."
"Fuck off!" Leigh sounds hostile as he rolls over and continues to sleep.
"..."
Chace curses in silence, kicks Leigh again, changes his clothes, and then goes out of the room.
When he passes by the master bedroom, Chace sees that the bedroom door is still tightly shut, so he
knocks on it. "Kelsie, did you wake up?"
There is no response.
Chace thinks that she is probably still sleeping, so he goes downstairs by himself. Then he sees the
servant busy in the kitchen and breakfast has already been ready on the table.
Chace says, "Prepare one more breakfast. I brought a friend back last night."
"Yes, sir." Only then does the servant realize that Chace has gone downstairs and asks him, "Is madam
still sleeping?"
