A Naive Bride for the Sophisticated CEO

Chapter 51: Patricia?

Chapter 51: Patricia?

Amelia and James rode in the same car to the company. James refused to let her drive because he believed she was still hurting from the previous night.

That wasn't the only reason though, he didn't want her so far from him. So he kept her by his side as he drove and held her hand too.

He stole glances of her beautiful face as he drove. One way or the other, she looked more gorgeous to him than ever. He believed it was as a result of what happened the previous night.

James parked the car at the parking lot and told Amelia not to get down yet. He ran to her door and helped her open it.

"What? That was why you told me not to alight?" She asked, and he giggled and bounced his head.

"Yes! I wanted to help you open up. Isn't that a good reason?" He asked, and she chuckled.

"Of course, it is. I'm just a little surprised you want to help me with the door. That's so sweet of you." She complimented and planted a soft kiss on his cheek.

"Is that a thank you from you?"

"What do you think?"

"Nah! I don't want that."

He leaned forward and held her face in his hands. Amelia's eyes widened as he stared at her glossy lips.

"Mr. James, we are outside. People are staring." She muttered.

James took a pause and looked around to see people staring at them, including his workers.

"Okay." He responded and still went in for the kiss, but it was just a peck.

"Mr. James." Amelia called and beat his chest playfully. She looked around shyly, and her cheeks grew very red.

"What? You are my wife, Amelia. I can kiss you anywhere. I don't care what they say, okay? I wanted a deeper kiss, but since you aren't comfortable, I'll leave it this way until we get to the office."

Amelia beamed and bounced her head.

"Let's go in already. I can feel their eyes piercing my skin."

Amelia turned to leave but James held her and made her stop. "Are you leaving without me?" He asked, and she furrowed her brows.

"Of course not. We are going together, right?"

"Then let me hold you." He responded, tightening his grip on her hand. He walked forward and pulled her with him. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

As they headed into the company, the workers and others that watched mumbled things to each other.

Some saw them as cute, while others saw it as show off and tactics for business.

Amelia stared at James from behind as he pulled her. She couldn't help but smile happily.

'I never thought a day would come where Mr. James would hold me so proudly in front of everyone. This is a dream come true.'

James looked back when they got to the elevator and caught Amelia smiling at him.

He smiled too and said; "What's going on in your mind?"

Amelia shook her head and bowed shyly. "It's nothing. Just random stuff."

"No! I won't take nothing as an answer. I saw the way you smiled at me. Something interesting is going on in your mind, and I want to know it."

The elevator returned empty, and he stepped aside for Amelia to walk in first.

"You know this too?" She teased as she walked in.

"Of course. I know almost everything, don't you think?"

He also walked in and punched the button. "You can't know almost everything, Mr. James."

"Why do you say so? I know you, Amelia. You are my everything. So I know everything."

"What?" Amelia's eyes widened, and James burst into laughter.

"How was that? Smooth, hun?"

"Very smooth." Amelia responded in laughter too.

"Well, it's true. That wasn't only to impress you..." He held her two hands and turned to look at her.

"...you are truly my everything. I'm unhappy I got to realize that late."

Amelia heaved a sigh and took his face in her hands. "You are so cute." She said, and James' cheeks flushed.

"You are the cutest."

The elevator stopped and the door opened. Two workers were at the door and they caught Amelia and James staring into each other's eyes.

They smiled widely and bowed. "Good morning, Mr and Mrs Parker."

They looked at them and let go of each other. Good morning." They responded and stepped out of the elevator.

Getting into the office, James' cellphone began to ring in his pocket. He pulled it out and checked who was calling.

It was Tina.

He clenched his jaws and looked up to see Amelia looking at him.

"Who is it?" She asked.

He stretched his phone to her and she took it from him. "Talk to her." He said.

Amelia saw it was Tina and didn't hesitate to pick up the call.

"This is Mrs. Parker speaking. What can I do for you this morning?" She uttered with great confidence that made James giggle.

"Why do you have James' phone? I need to speak to James, not you. This is his cellphone, not yours." Tina sounded like she was offended.

"Well, Mr. James is busy now. So I'll be the one you will be talking to. How can I help you once again?"

Tina rolled her eyes and hung up the call. She threw the phone on the couch and shook her head.

"What is it?"

"Amelia won't let me talk to him, okay? I don't think this is going to work, Ava. He is in love with her already."

"So I should just give up? I have always liked James, Tina. Incase he calls you for a lady, don't hesitate to call me. I'll go to him and pay you well for it. Maybe if I have one more night with him, I'll get over him for good."

"Well, let's pray he ever asks for a lady from me again. Looks like his wife has bewitched him."

"Amelia is so lucky she isn't in our house anymore. I would have poisoned her. And I won't hesitate to do that now if I set my eyes on her."

Tina scoffed and smiled. "All because of a man that doesn't want you? Is it worth it? There are thousands of men that would want to be with you, Ava. Don't waste your time on this dickhead."

"And let Amelia live her best life? I don't think I'm ready for that. That confession James did in front of everyone at that party was supposed to be for me, not her."

"And what do you want to do now? You lost him already."

"Not yet. Amelia is still the stupid girl I have always known. I can still make one night with James happen. All I want is to see Amelia sad. She isn't worth that happiness." She uttered with an evil smirk.

"She hung up. I bet she is so vexed." Amelia said and gave James his phone.

"That was a good one." He praised, and she exhaled softly.

"It's high time you told her that you wouldn't be needing her services anymore." She muttered, pouting.

James smiled and pointed to her face. "Is that Jealousy?" He asked.

"Of course! I don't want those ladies close to you anymore. I'm possessive of you, Mr. James. I have never been given the chance to call something mine since my parents died. Now I have you, I won't let you out of my hands."

James stood up from his chair and walked up to the couch where she sat. He squatted in front of her and held her hands.

"You are not losing me, Amelia. I'm yours." He said and kissed her hands.

She grinned and bobbed. "You have a photoshoot session in Deluxe Studio in an hour. You can't be late."

"And you are going with me."

"Why? I have other things to do at the office." She pouted.

"Then I'm not going anywhere. I want you there with me. We should take a couple pictures too."

Amelia sighed and nodded. "Fine. Let's prepare then. You should have started your makeup session."

"Hm." He nodded and stood up.

James sat in the makeup studio, waiting for the makeup artist to show up. Amelia on the other hand was having a chat with the designer who picked his outfit.

While waiting, one of the workers at the studio approached him.

"Mr. Parker, we are so sorry for the delay. The former makeup artist you know left the country months ago, so we have a new one, but she is yet to get used to our busy roads."

James grinned and shook his head. "It's fine. I can wait. Thank you."

The lady bowed and walked away. After she was gone, Amelia approached him and sat on the chair in front of him.

"She still hasn't arrived?"

"Nah. She is on her way here."

"They are taking too much time. Can't another person do it?" She asked impatiently.

"C'mon, Amelia. We can wait a little longer. Today is Friday, we have less work at the office. I bet they want a professional to beat my face."

"Hmm. True. We'll wait then. I'll wait here with you." She responded, and James nodded happily.

They were chatting and laughing for minutes when the door opened and a young lady rushed in.

"I'm so sorry for coming late! The traffic was crazy." She said without looking up.

She dropped her bag on the table and finally looked up to see James and Amelia staring at her.

"I'll get you coffee, Mr. James." Amelia said and walked out of the room.

'Patricia?' James called in his head as they stared at each other speechlessly.

"James Parker?" Patricia called and smiled widely.

"Is it really you? Wow. I had no idea." She added happily.

"Erm... yeah. It's me. Hi."

"Hi? C'mon, won't you hug me?! It's been over ten years since we last saw each other." She said and moved closer to him.

She embraced him and rested her head on his shoulder.

"I missed you so much. Thank God I finally found you." She uttered. She closed her eyes emotionally and tears rolled down her cheeks.
