A Successful Career After Divorce

Chapter 902: Tenderness

Jedidiah grunted but eventually agreed.

“Ranita!” Brendon reached out to hold her hand, gently touching her pale face with the other. “Are you feeling unwell?”

“Just a bit dizzy.” Ranita covered his hand with hers. “It’s normal to feel a bit uncomfortable when you’re sick. Don’t worry.”

“You should have told me right away. I couldn’t find you all day, and I almost rushed into Bowman’s Mansion.” Brendon’s voice was soft, as if afraid that speaking too loudly might shatter the fragile woman before him.

“Sorry to make you worry! Don’t be mad.” As Ranita spoke, Brendon leaned in closer, and she quickly dodged. “Hmm?”This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

“If you let me kiss you, I won’t be mad.”

Ranita, still feeling weak and dizzy, protested, “I’m sick. What if I infect you?”

Her voice was hoarse from illness, but the tone was endearing, warming Brendon’s heart.

“If you pass it to me, you’ll get better. Isn’t that good?” Brendon bent down and embraced her.

“Ranita, get well soon.”

“Okay!” When sick, Ranita was like a cute little kitten, her sharp edges softened, making her appear much gentler.

Ranita nestled in his arms, feeling content both physically and emotionally.

Suddenly, he pinched her chin and brought his lips to hers, giving a gentle bite.

Ranita whimpered and struggled to speak clearly, “It hurts.”

But Brendon deepened the kiss.

Already dizzy, Ranita felt the blood rush to her head, her body temperature rising, and her cheeks turning red-hot.

“Brendon…” Ranita pouted at him. “I told you not to kiss me. You’re so annoying!”

Brendon chuckled. “I’m not annoying. You like me.”

Ranita’s face turned even redder. “You’re so narcissistic! I don’t like you!”

“Really?” Brendon pinched her waist. “Say that again?”

Ranita couldn’t help but laugh as he tickled her, her eyes sparkling with life.

“Stop it. Ayaan will wake up soon.” She paused and added, “And my brother is still outside!”

“Don’t bully me!”

Now she had someone to back her up!

If Brendon bullied her, she’d complain and let Jedidiah deal with him!

Brendon pretended to be scared. “Really? I’m so scared!” He kissed her cheek again. “Should I leave then?”

“Yes! Go!” Ranita couldn’t help but add, “Remember to call me.”

“And don’t visit Shannon alone when I’m not around.”

Seeing her jealous expression, Brendon pinched her nose. “I’m supposed to be home taking care of the baby. Where would I find time to visit her?!”

“Stop being jealous!”

Ranita blushed deeply and turned away in annoyance. “I’m not jealous! Just… take good care of Ayaan at home!”

Brendon took Ayaan home.

Jedidiah entered with a stern face. “He left?”

“Yes…” Ranita looked at Jedidiah guiltily. “Jedidiah, are you mad?”

“Why would I be mad?” Jedidiah huffed coldly, clearly angry but refusing to admit it.

Ranita bit her lip and looked at Jedidiah with pleading eyes.
