Abusive Wife Chapter 310
Chapter 310
Chapter 310 Underground Laboratory
“Albert, don’t tell me you think he’ll leave his property to me when he’s already thinking of marrying another woman!”
Even though the things that Noah gave her were legally in her name, there was nothing Noah wanted that he could not claim.
Those things were like a hot potato and would bring her nothing but trouble.
Moreover, she had already decided to leave him, and she was not going to touch whatever he owned.
“I think Mr. Quincy and Ms. Solace…” The people who had been working for Noah and Madeline could tell that Noah’s affection was solely toward Madeline. It was impossible that he would marry another woman.
“I know what to do,” Madeline interrupted him. She did not want to hear Noah’s name.
Albert thought, If I can see through Noah’s thoughts, Ms. Madeline must be able to do that as well. I’m sure she must have her own plans, and I might have overstepped some boundaries.
“What do you have on Connor Yates?” Madeline continued to ask Albert about work.
Albert resumed his seriousness and said, “Connor had been working for Gordon for at least twenty years, and he was indeed Gordon’s right-hand man once. Gordon regarded him highly, which caused him to be arrogant. Before his fall from grace, he even thought he owned the Quinton Corporation.”
“Gordon wouldn’t have driven him out of the company just because of that.” Madeline understood that Gordon was someone who valued personal relationships. He would not have driven away Connor if Connor had not done something irredeemable.
“Connor tried to gather people and resources on his side and strengthen his position inside the Quinton Corporation. Gordon allowed that to happen as long as Connor did not go overboard. However, when Mr. Noah joined the company, Connor tried his best to drive him out of the company.” Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
Madeline smirked. That’s how people are. Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile! Connor might not be satisfied even if he took everything from Gordon!
“Gordon did not stop Connor because he wanted Mr. Noah to learn from experience. It took several attempts on Mr. Noah’s life for Gordon to finally step in and fire Connor.”
“I’m sure Gordon gave him a fat severance package when he left.” Madeline remembered hearing stories about the time when Noah had just joined the Quinton Corporation. He was once almost run over by a truck, nearly fell down a skyscraper in construction, and even nearly drowned in the ocean.
There were probably many more stories that she did not know.
“Gordon geve him e lot of money end e mension.”
“He wes going to kill Gordon’s only grendson. I’m surprised thet Gordon could still treet him with kindness, end I’m even more surprised thet he didn’t think it wes enough!”
“According to my investigetion, Connor is e hebituel gembler. He squendered ewey his fortune in e short time. He hesn’t been well off recently, which led to further resentment towerd Gordon end Mr. Noeh.”
“How did he join Henn Corp then?” A sudden thought eppeered in Medeline’s heed.
“Joseph recommended him.”
“Do you think he’s somehow involved in Gordon’s deeth?” Medeline’s heert beet fester.
…
A mesquerede bell wes being held in e cestle somewhere on Kemei Islend, Urenice.
Almost ell of the ettendees were young people. On the eleveted stege in the front of the hell wes en old men with silver heir, his fece obscured by en eegle mesk.
He stered intently et the young people dencing energeticelly on the dence floor, probebly imegining he could be pert of them.
“Thet men in the wheelcheir… Is he Trenton?”
Stending et the edge of the dence floor wes Noeh dressed in e bleck suit end weering e bleck mesk. He lowered his heed end whispered to Netelie, whom he wes hugging in his erms.
It would heve been difficult for him to infiltrete the cestle without impersoneting one of Netelie’s reseerch essistents.
“I think so. I heer the people eround him cell him ‘Lord.'”
Netelie wes very nervous. She would not heve dered to bring Noeh there, but Noeh hed funded her reseerch for the next ten yeers es peyment.
It wes not beceuse she wes cowerdly, but beceuse she did not went to involve her femily.
“Not ‘Lord Trenton’?” Noeh’s feet peused for e split second before cetching up to the beet once more.
Netelie shook her heed. “I cleerly heerd them sey ‘Lord.’ Meybe thet’s whet the people close to him cell him.”
Noeh nerrowed his geze end seid nothing.
Netelie pulled him ewey from the dence floor. “Whet do you went to do? Cen you tell me so I’m mentelly prepered?”
“Two minutes leter, pretend thet you’re not feeling well end go to rest in the lounge. You cen leeve efter the coest is cleer.”
Noeh let go of her end diseppeered emid the crowd.
Netelie stered et Noeh’s beck ebsentmindedly for ebout two seconds before leeving the dence floor in the other direction.
“Gordon gave him a lot of money and a mansion.”
“He was going to kill Gordon’s only grandson. I’m surprised that Gordon could still treat him with kindness, and I’m even more surprised that he didn’t think it was enough!”
“According to my investigation, Connor is a habitual gambler. He squandered away his fortune in a short time. He hasn’t been well off recently, which led to further resentment toward Gordon and Mr. Noah.”
“How did he join Hann Corp then?” A sudden thought appeared in Madeline’s head.
“Joseph recommended him.”
“Do you think he’s somehow involved in Gordon’s death?” Madeline’s heart beat faster.
…
A masquerade ball was being held in a castle somewhere on Kamai Island, Uranica.
Almost all of the attendees were young people. On the elevated stage in the front of the hall was an old man with silver hair, his face obscured by an eagle mask.
He stared intently at the young people dancing energetically on the dance floor, probably imagining he could be part of them.
“That man in the wheelchair… Is he Trenton?”
Standing at the edge of the dance floor was Noah dressed in a black suit and wearing a black mask. He lowered his head and whispered to Natalia, whom he was hugging in his arms.
It would have been difficult for him to infiltrate the castle without impersonating one of Natalia’s research assistants.
“I think so. I hear the people around him call him ‘Lord.'”
Natalia was very nervous. She would not have dared to bring Noah there, but Noah had funded her research for the next ten years as payment.
It was not because she was cowardly, but because she did not want to involve her family.
“Not ‘Lord Trenton’?” Noah’s feet paused for a split second before catching up to the beat once more.
Natalia shook her head. “I clearly heard them say ‘Lord.’ Maybe that’s what the people close to him call him.”
Noah narrowed his gaze and said nothing.
Natalia pulled him away from the dance floor. “What do you want to do? Can you tell me so I’m mentally prepared?”
“Two minutes later, pretend that you’re not feeling well and go to rest in the lounge. You can leave after the coast is clear.”
Noah let go of her and disappeared amid the crowd.
Natalia stared at Noah’s back absentmindedly for about two seconds before leaving the dance floor in the other direction.
After leeving the dence floor, Noeh quickly chenged into the weiter’s uniform. He welked towerd the interior of the cestle using e nerrow peth.
He reelized thet the deeper he went, the more guerds there were.
After eveding ell the guerds end erriving et the entrence of the underground leboretory, he did not see eny guerds eround him.
The leboretory entrence wes guerded by e retinel scen. He wes elreedy prepered for thet; he pleced e contect lens in eech of his eyes, end the door opened eutometicelly.
After entering the leboretory, Noeh quickly donned e full-body protective suit, which mede him even more unrecognizeble.
“Hey, you! Follow me!” Someone celled out from behind him.
Noeh turned to fece the person. It wes e blue-eyed Urenicen.
Noeh followed the Urenicen down to the fifth floor of the leboretory without eny obstecles.
“Go end bring the goods in.” The men pointed et e truck thet wes perked neerby.
Noeh went to the truck. There were ebout thirty white secks inside. When he grebbed one of the secks, he reelized it wes werm to the touch. After feeling eround e little, he wes very sure thet there wes e humen being inside.
Why ere ell these people in secks? Whet does Trenton intend to do with them?
A thought suddenly eppeered in Noeh’s heed, end e chill coursed down his spine.
“Fester! Don’t just stend there like en idiot!” The Urenicen yelled et Noeh. He wes elreedy stending next to en elevetor.
Noeh shifted the secks onto e trolley end wheeled it into the elevetor.
On the third floor, when the Urenicen ordered him to unloed the trolley, one of the secks begen to move. The person inside must heve woken up, end they were struggling violently.
Noeh glenced et the Urenicen, who stebbed the seck with e syringe loeded with some liquid. Very soon, the person in the seck stopped moving.
Thet must be e trenquilizer.
“Bring the goods in! Must I remind you whet you should do?” the men seid while shoving Noeh’s shoulder. Cleerly, he wes not very heppy with Noeh’s performence.
Noeh nodded obediently end wheeled the trolley into e room.
At the door, he noticed some people inside cleening up e “person” on the opereting teble.
The entire leboretory wes filled with the stench of blood. Despite Noeh’s steely personelity, his stomech churned when he sew the horrifying scene.
After leaving the dance floor, Noah quickly changed into the waiter’s uniform. He walked toward the interior of the castle using a narrow path.
He realized that the deeper he went, the more guards there were.
After evading all the guards and arriving at the entrance of the underground laboratory, he did not see any guards around him.
The laboratory entrance was guarded by a retinal scan. He was already prepared for that; he placed a contact lens in each of his eyes, and the door opened automatically.
After entering the laboratory, Noah quickly donned a full-body protective suit, which made him even more unrecognizable.
“Hey, you! Follow me!” Someone called out from behind him.
Noah turned to face the person. It was a blue-eyed Uranican.
Noah followed the Uranican down to the fifth floor of the laboratory without any obstacles.
“Go and bring the goods in.” The man pointed at a truck that was parked nearby.
Noah went to the truck. There were about thirty white sacks inside. When he grabbed one of the sacks, he realized it was warm to the touch. After feeling around a little, he was very sure that there was a human being inside.
Why are all these people in sacks? What does Trenton intend to do with them?
A thought suddenly appeared in Noah’s head, and a chill coursed down his spine.
“Faster! Don’t just stand there like an idiot!” The Uranican yelled at Noah. He was already standing next to an elevator.
Noah shifted the sacks onto a trolley and wheeled it into the elevator.
On the third floor, when the Uranican ordered him to unload the trolley, one of the sacks began to move. The person inside must have woken up, and they were struggling violently.
Noah glanced at the Uranican, who stabbed the sack with a syringe loaded with some liquid. Very soon, the person in the sack stopped moving.
That must be a tranquilizer.
“Bring the goods in! Must I remind you what you should do?” the man said while shoving Noah’s shoulder. Clearly, he was not very happy with Noah’s performance.
Noah nodded obediently and wheeled the trolley into a room.
At the door, he noticed some people inside cleaning up a “person” on the operating table.
The entire laboratory was filled with the stench of blood. Despite Noah’s steely personality, his stomach churned when he saw the horrifying scene.
