Chapter 88: I Won’t Fail
“Would you believe me if I said I was going to leave it to you?” Rex looked at her. Wendy was so shocked that she couldn’t say a word. “Me?”
Rex turned his head and said, “My aunt came back to ask for her shares back. Without her shares, although the Glory Group won’t suffer much loss, it won’t be as good as before. But…… there’s one thing that’s interesting……”
“Hmm? What is it?”
“My aunt said that if you can become one of the managements, she will consider leaving the shares, and plus my shares, it will not be a problem for you to manage the Glory Group.” Rex’s tone was calm as if this was a feasible fact.
Wendy immediately waved her hand and said, “I…… I don’t have that ability……”
“Yes, you definitely don’t have it now.” Rex didn’t hide his doubt in his words. “So you’ll come to my office starting next week and be my assistant.”
Clare froze upon hearing that. Wait a minute……
What did he hear? Was Mr. Gavyn going to fire him?
Wendy seemed to have sensed it. She immediately looked at Clare, who was driving, and asked, “What about Clare?”
“He’ll do what he needs to do.”
Clare’s hands trembled, and the car deviated from the direction, almost crashing into the overhead bridge. Wendy was so scared that she immediately grabbed the seat cushion. She smiled awkwardly and said, “Clare…… you don’t have to be nervous. Rex…… Rex was just joking.”
Rex said seriously, “I’m not joking.”
Wendy scratched her head and asked, “Then are you going to fire Clare?”
Clare also pricked up his ears instantly, and Rex laughed out loud. “Do you think your abilities are better than Clare’s? How many years has he worked for me? How many years have you worked for me?”
Less than a year……
Wendy coughed and said, “I didn’t mean that, it’s just…… just too sudden…… and the Glory Group belongs to the Gavyn Family……”
She was afraid that Cassie Gavyn would be furious when she knew it. By then, her life would be even harder.
“You’re not a member of the Gavyn Family?” Rex asked in reply, leaving Wendy speechless.
“Well, let’s not talk about this for the time being. I’ll take you to the villa first.”
“OK.”
The Champagne Villa was located at the junction between Jena City and Atigo City. Atigo City was a famous holiday resort with beautiful rivers. Because of its geographical advantage, many years ago, Rex had taken a fancy to this place. However, very few people were interested in this undeveloped land. As a result, they lost the initiative. After the news came out, all the business tycoons in Jena City all astonished. Rex deserved to be called the First Master of Jena City. His vision was unique.
After they arrived, Clare left. Rex’s eyes suddenly turned exceptionally gentle, like the soft moonlight on the sky, causing Wendy to feel warm.Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
“Give me your hand.” Rex stretched out his own to invite her.
Wendy slowly stretched out her hand, but as soon as she stretched it out, Rex held it tightly in his hand. Warmth spread from his palm, and her heart began to beat rapidly again.
The man in front of her had given her too much pain and hurt, but only he could give her that unique happiness and satisfaction.
Except for him, there was no one else in her heart.
The stairs were made of wood, and people would make creaking sounds when walking on them, which was particularly clear in the quiet villa.
The buildings in the villa were antique, with small bridges over the streams the small river flowed slowly. Without even touching it, Wendy could tell that the water was refreshing.
“How long has this villa been built?” Wendy asked.
Rex held Wendy’s hand and went up to the second floor. They stood on the balcony and looked down at the lights below. Rex replied, “It’s been nearly 10 years since preparations.”
Wendy frowned and asked, “So you decided to develop tourism 10 years ago? Did your parents know about it?”
At the night, the lighting was soft.
“Don’t worry, I won’t leave the Glory Group. I just want to do something by myself. The title of all mighty master Gavyn has been pressing on me for too long.”
Rex rarely showed his soft side in front of others, but Wendy had the fortune of seeing it many times. She asked, “What if you fail?”
“I won’t fail. There is only a question of whether I want to or not.”
There were several green bamboos planted on the shady path downstairs. The night breeze blew gently and the bamboos rustled. Wendy suddenly hugged Rex. She did not say a word and just leaned tightly into his arms.
Rex’s body trembled, and then his deep, cello-like laughter slowly sounded. “Aren’t you angry because I didn’t participate in your welcome ceremony today?”
Wendy bit her lip. “I’m not that stingy.”
“Oh? Are you?” Rex’s eyes were filled with arrogance. “Then who said that I can’t separate personal and business matters?”
Wendy let go of Rex and frowned. “Will you feel uncomfortable if you don’t provoke me?”
This woman always ignored his good intentions.
Rex held the guardrail with both hands. He wanted to smoke very much now so seemed a little frustrated. “Do you like this place?”
“Just so-so,” Wendy replied. She was not honest.
“How about I give it to you as a gift?” Rex turned around and looked at her with interest.
Wendy stared at Rex’s bright eyes and frowned. “You’ve prepared for ten years and you’re giving it away just like that?”
“If you like it, I can give you ten villas.”
That was true, but……
“I don’t want your things,” Wendy said.
“Have you made up your mind?” Rex’s expression suddenly turned cold. He was a little embarrassed that she had rejected his carefully planned surprise.
Wendy was no fool. She knew that today’s everything should have been carefully prepared by Rex, but she just didn’t want to take his things, not to mention such a precious gift. He wanted to give her the entire Champagne Villa. Did he trust her so much?
“Aren’t you afraid that I’ll sell it?” Wendy asked.
Rex smiled. “If I can buy it, I also can get it back.”
Wendy’s eyes flashed. She didn’t want to anger Rex again. It was rare for the two of them to have such a moment together, so she might as well be smart.
“Okay, I accept this gift.”
Rex sighed. “If only you had listened to me earlier.”
Wendy was two steps away from Rex. She looked down and this moment was peaceful and pleasant.
“Come here,” Rex said plainly.
“What?” Wendy asked as she walked over. Rex suddenly pressed her against the wall. He lowered his head and kissed her. He straightened up slightly and looked down at her lips, a fire gradually burning in his heart.
His voice was hoarse, and his nails gently stroked her red lips as he said with a smile, “How lovable.”
Wendy felt the desire in his eyes and immediately pushed his hand away. She covered her mouth and said, “We can’t kiss anymore.”
Seeing her like this, Rex smiled and let go of her. “Relax, my self-control is better than you think.”
Tut……
Who would believe that!
