Chapter 503 A Disappointing Dinner

Susan then headed for the restaurant where Henry made a reservation.

Though he was not a romantic guy, she still deeply fell for him from the bottom of her heart.

What was more, he took over the entire restaurant tonight and prepared a candlelit dinner.

They sat down face to face. With a radiant smile, Susan uttered, "I don't prepare any gift for you."

Henry smiled warmly in response, "As I said, your companionship is the greatest gift ever. I have been

alone for a long time. There have been years that I made birthday wishes that I could have someone to

share the cake with on my birthdays."

As an emotional type, Susan was touched. She felt so sorry for him as soon as she thought that he

used to be alone all the time. So she held his hand, "I will be with you for the rest of my life."

Henry smiled to ease her emotion, "So now I feel really happy. I thought that god must have

compensated me with your love after I was almost deprived of everything. It makes me a better one

when we encountered each other. I gotta say thanks to God."

Susan burst into a smile.

He always knew how to light up her mood, unlike Manuel. Susan felt like being frozen at the thought of

that. She had no idea how come she thought of that man of downer once again.

What a bummer!

Henry seemed to notice that. But as a guy good at hiding the way he felt, he suddenly stood up and

walked over to her.

Seeing his move, Susan felt like her heart started beating fast since it looked like a signal of a proposal.

Though she had thought about sex tonight, the seemingly upcoming proposal had gone beyond her

expectation. With her heartbeat running wild, she gazed at him, who decently bent over to reach out his

hand, "My lady, may I dance with you?"

Susan paused for a second.

It turned out that he just wanted to propose a dance.

With a breath of relief, she reached out her hand in response and stood up to step aside.

A bit of panic jarred her a moment ago when she thought Henry was going to propose to her, which she

didn't even realize.

Melodious music sounded in the air. Slightly hugging each other, they started dancing.

They were close enough to feel each other's breath. Even a subtle move between them might ignite the

fuse of desire.

Susan wrapped around his neck and started kissing him.

After a short pause, Henry gradually reacted by kissing as well.

They clung to each other in the air of romance.

When the kiss was finished, both of them couldn't help gasping slightly.

Susan approached to whisper, "Pick a place for tonight. Your home or mine?"

Of course, Henry could tell what she meant. However, Susan didn't find any sign of excitement from

Henry, nor a bit of expectation just like hers.

He looked like being frozen.

Susan frowned, surprised by the change in his expression.

Didn't he want to?

Meanwhile, Henry noticed the surprise in her eyes. He managed to compose himself and walked her

back to the table.

He pretended as if he heard of nothing.

However, the longer he remained silent, the more Susan would likely challenge him until she got the

answer.

"Henry, I bet you know what I meant just now," Susan spoke frankly.

Henry answered in a tone of hesitation, "But I am worried about your health."

"Are you worried about my health? Or do you find it disgusting?" Susan sounded agitated.

Surprised, Henry hurried to explain, "Of course not! There's no way I will think so." Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.

"I have lain with another guy and got a miscarriage afterwards. As far as I know about guys, it's

common among you to find it disgusting, isn't it?"

"Susan, don't you say so! I have never had a bit of idea like that…"

"So why haven't you even touched me ever since we restarted our relationship?"

"I am worried about your health after miscarriage…"

"So shall I get a note from the doctor to prove that now I am fully healthy for sex?" her voice and mood

seemed a bit out of control.

When spending time together these days, he always figured out an excuse to evade sex with Susan

whenever there was such an atmosphere.

Before that, Susan got used to letting it slide. But now she was so pissed to see him fudge it since she

had clearly shown her intention, for which she didn't know why.

"Susan, just chill." Henry looked flustered.

"I can't chill. I don't know why you don't wanna touch me!" Susan shouted.

"I don't wanna hurt you. Susan, after all these years we've been through, I have never gone beyond my

bottom line. Of course, I wanna enjoy sex with you. But only after we get married…"

"I don't need a marriage! I just wanna lay with you in bed. I don't care if you are gonna marry me or

not!"

"Susan, just view me as a conservative guy, I can't do it. And I am sure you gotta chill first because the

madness has got the best of you. Now it's a bad time to reason with."

"How can I chill?" Susan let out a mocking smile. She had pushed this far but Henry still urged her to

get chilled.

"I gotta drive you home first. We can talk about it tomorrow."

"Just walk away." Said Susan coldly.

Henry stared at her blankly.

"Leave. I need some time for my own."

Hesitating, but he finally stood up.

The sense of self-mockery grew even more within her bitter smile.

"Susan, I wish we could be better in the future." Said Henry. Then he left.

With eyes blurred with tears and a bitter smile, Susan saw Henry walking away in front of her.

Was it for a better relationship between them?

Or was it because she appeared too disgusting in his eyes to lie with?

Susan lifted a glass of wine and drained it.

Then she beckoned the waiter over to bring her stronger liquor.

She didn't stop until she got drunk.

It appeared that Henry would rather leave her getting drunk alone than have sex with her in bed

tonight. She couldn't tell if Henry still loved her.

She teetered out of the restaurant on her own.

She hailed herself a taxi and told an address as she could remember.

Perhaps she would know the reason tomorrow, she reckoned.

After paying for the ride, Susan got off the taxi and teetered into the building on her own.

Based on what she could remember, she walked over to the elevator.

After typing the password, she opened the door. Then she swung the high heels off from her feet.

Thanks to the central heating, it was warm enough inside. So she took off the mink coat, under which it

was that sexy lace slip dress. Perhaps she deemed the dress a burden as well. She stripped herself off

while walking.

As she reached the bed, she was naked.

Meanwhile, Manuel was watching her scattering all her clothes on the ground and lying inside his

bedroom nakedly.
