Anita’s Voice: Behind the Headlines

Chapter 51: Shock

Chapter 51: Shock

He had vanished and appeared right in front of their eyes with his men.

They were done for and they could already feel it from the goosebumps on their skin.

Officer Eric fearlessly walked up to them as his white skin glowed under the moonlight. He looked at them like they were little pumpkins.

“Welcome!” he spat straight at their faces and smiled elegantly.

“Arrest them!” he ordered and immediately, they all got chained and thrown into the police car.

The rest of the police officers quickly got the casket of drugs and had them placed inside the huge bus they had come with as they made their way to the police station.

When they got to the police station, a few reporters were already there.

Immediately they spotted the police men, they rushed and started asking them series of questions which made Officer Eric a bit uncomfortable.

He had always been a man of honour. And there was something about him. He hated the camera. He enjoyed privacy. He doesn’t care if his good deeds get seen as he was a man with strict discipline in him.

“Sir! Sir!! Can you give us a brief details about your encounter? Sir what exactly happened? Sir, was someone murdered?” Questions kept flying.

Officer Eric gave some instructions to his colleagues and walked into his office.

His colleagues answered the reporters questions and got to work while they reported.

“Thank your star we didn’t get caught today. I would have allowed her head with a bullet since your freaking people are trying to play mind games with me.” a voice said above anita’s head.

Anita didn’t understand what was going on. She had thought she would be finally free only to see them desperate to thrown her back in there.

They had gotten information from their men who were guiding them far away that the policemen were headed towards the said location and had to escape with Anita for their own safety.

They had thought that Thomas was the one playing mind games until they had noticed that he had no reason to do that and got scared the more.

They knew they had enemies, but who could be this one?

Anita already lost her hope if ever coming out, so she took the place like her room and laid straight on the floor to keep while they left her alone after serving her some water.

Thomas had gotten looking so pissed off unlike before.

Picking up his phone, he tried to reach his men, but just like the past minutes, the numbers were unreachable.

Fuck!

Did something happened?

He didn’t think so, he then slept off on his bed.

The next morning, what woke Thomas up was the sound of his phone ringing nonstop.

He was surprised at first, but held his check when he saw it was some strange numbers.

He doesn’t give anyone his personal numbers, so once this number is called like this and on a multiple time, it means it must be serious.

“Where are you going?” Cass asked loudly as he grabbed Kate’s arms.

“To the police station.” she replied not interested in looking at him.

“Ok I think you need me to go with you.”

“No don’t worry. I will be just fine.”

“kate stop. What is giving you the confidence that you will win this. Liam is not an ordinary man.”

“I know, but then, he is not above the law else you say otherwise.”

“He surely is not above the law doesn’t mean that he is a puppet. I would say you should let it go.”

“I won’t. Liam hurt me. He didn’t really care about me. He controlled me like a sex toy. Is that not an offense?” she said bitterly.

When she woke up that morning, she had opened her phone as usual and saw notification about a certain notable police officer who disappeared out of sight few years ago and had just made a fresh entry to flush out crimes.Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

She had been so excited and had decided to go and complain about Liam to him as she was very sure that he would gave a very good solution for her.

He was rumoured to have made an appearance the night before and had appeared with some drug syndicate members as a scapegoat, so what was her case that she wouldn’t be able to get justice for?

Thomas’ look was already in the mud as he looked at his tv.

It felt like thunder was striking and on his head in his sitting room. The call earlier was the worst call he had ever received since the beginning of his career.

He knew him.

He was Officer Eric!

New York’s Top respected police officer.

He had been among the syndicates that made him disappear from the force world making sure he never makes a comeback, but he was, already with his men as an entry scapegoat.

How could he dare??!!!

Thomas face changed drastically as he struggled in his sitting room, looking for solution to his coming issues.

Eric knew his enemies and never minds to risk it all. That was what broke Thomas’ heart. He felt down at not just his people who are already in the cell, but the amount of drug that he had lost to the police.

His hard work was already in vain. That ached his heart like hell.

Over in Anita’s apartment, Andre made his way to check if she had been found only to see that nothing had changed except the news of Officer Eric making an appearance.

He wasn’t impressed at all, because why the hell were they keeping her hostage when she clearly wasn’t owing them anything.

He had always wanted to intervene, but he chooses to respect the force of New York and now, they were yet to brink. Anita back???

He took his time to listen to Cass and heard what he had to say about Kate.

He didn’t think she had stated anything wrong.
