Chapter 482 Edna Visited the Qi Family

"No, I mean that I have never regretted having known Moore, let alone become his friend. But your

family has compromised because of me!" Jean explained in a hurry.

"My family? Don't alienate us like that. My family is your family too. From now on, I don't want you to

say such words and think of yourself as an outsider." Zed was displeased upon hearing Jean's words.

He added,"I know what you mean. But I don't think things are so serious that you are blaming yourself.

Everything will be fine. Edna is neither evil nor a fierce beast. No member of our family is scared of

her."

"But it was because of her that this incident took place," Jean replied as she was guilty. Then she

added,"Perhaps your parents wouldn't have met Edna if I hadn't gotten acquainted with Moore." Jean

was still guilty about what had happened.

"But they still haven't met each other. Maybe Edna doesn't want to see our parents either," Zed replied.

"No, I think Edna surely wants to meet your parents. I know this because she asked you to greet your

mother," said Jean in a serious tone.

Zed fell silent as he heard what Jean had said. He knew Jean was right.

But he couldn't stop something from happening.

The only way out of this mess was to watch in silence.

The two of them lay there for some time. When they realised that it was too late, they finally got up.

They washed and got dressed to go downstairs.

As they walked into the dining room, they saw Sean, Jade and Moore sitting and talking with each

other joyfully.

Zed was a little astonished. He pulled a chair out so that Jean could sit down first and then went to his

place. As he sat down, he stared at the three of them.

The atmosphere was a little weird. Although they all looked very happy, something seemed a bit odd.

Zed glanced at Jade anxiously. Jade was talking to Moore happily and enjoying her breakfast.

"What's wrong?" Jean stopped in the middle of the conversation when she saw Zed staring and not

eating anything at all.

Zed came back to his senses when he heard Jean's question. Then, he shook his head gently at Jean

and started to eat.

Their breakfast didn't take long. Zed hesitated before leaving Jean. At last, he kissed Jean on her

cheek. As he was leaving, Moore spoke,"Zed, can you please stay at home with your parents?"

"What's wrong?" Zed asked as he was a little puzzled by Moore's question.

"I just got a call from Edna. She told me that she might come here today," Moore replied with a wry

smile.

"Today?" Zed was shocked as he shifted his gaze towards Jade.

Jean was shocked as she heard Moore's words. She then looked at Jade.

"Why are you all staring at me?" As she saw everybody looking at her, Jade sighed and then said,"You

cannot stop something from happening. Escape is not the best option here. Zed, it's fine! Just go to the

company. Don't worry about us."

"I think I should stay!" Zed was a little amazed to see Jade's calm face.

As far as he knew his mother, she would never react this way.

As a result of this, Zed felt upset.

"Why would you stay? Jean and Moore will keep me company. I will be fine!" Jade persuaded Zed.

"I can't do this! I also want to know as to why she is coming here," Zed said.

"Mother! Please let Zed stay!" Jean interrupted.

Since Jean said this, Jade sighed and said,"Well, stay if you really want to!"

Zed and Jean looked at each other. They felt that Jade was behaving a little differently than she

already did.

Then both of them looked at Sean, who frowned.

Sean shook his head in confusion. Then he looked at Moore.

Zed and Jean didn't know what Sean meant. Before they said anything, one servant came in and

reported that someone was here to visit the Qi family.

"So early?" Jade knew exactly who the visitor was as soon as she heard the servant's report. "It seems

that she couldn't sleep well last night because she was coming here to visit us today,"

said Jade as she walked towards the living room.

They all followed Jade and sat on the sofas in the living room.

A while later, the servant led Edna to the living room.

Jade stood up and looked at Edna sharply. Jade saw that Edna's face was confident.

"Jade, we haven't seen each other for 20 years. How are you?" Edna greeted Jade with a smile as

soon as she saw her.

"I am fine. Don't bother!" Jade said coldly as she stared at Edna,"Sit!"

"It seems like you haven't changed even a bit. For the sake of your esteem, you have been bothering

yourself," said Edna with a smile as she sensed Jade's stubbornness.

"Speaking of which, I think that no one present here has suffered grief as much as you!" Jade was not

easy to deal with. As soon as she saw that Edna sneered, she immediately replied,"Both Sean and I

know that you never wanted to marry Gary. You even went out and got drunk to seduce Sean. This

happened when you were almost married. Jade's words really enraged Edna.

"You!" Edna was excited at first but then her mood suddenly changed. Everyone else realized what this

really was about, which made Edna even more embarrassed. She said,"Who told you that I didn't want

to marry Gary? We love each other a lot. Our love story is legendary in not only the Imperial Capital but

also H City. Jade, you look quite old! You must have led a very hard life all these years, or else you

shouldn't have looked like an aunt. You used to care a lot about your skin."

"Aunt? I am over 50 and old enough to be a grandmother. For me, looking like an aunt is a compliment,

which means that I am still gorgeous. But look at you! Edna, you dress yourself like a demon. Who else

do you want to seduce? How many innocent people have you hurt all these years?"

Jade said sarcastically.

Edna became angry as she heard what Jade had said.

Sean was anxious as he looked at them quarrelling among themselves, but he thought it was best if he

did not interrupt.

He would only be attacked by both women whatever he said.

Hence, he had no choice but to stare at Zed for help.

Zed got worried as he saw them quarreling. He hadn't expected things to get this serious.

Neither Jade nor Edna wanted to compromise and stop the quarrel.

How would things turn out if it went on like that? They would definitely fight if they became angry.

However, Zed didn't know what to do to stop the matter from getting out of hands.
