Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 537 The Anniversary Of Your Mother’s Death

Chapter 537 The Anniversary Of Your Mother’s Death

Zed's analysis was very reasonable. She had never expected that Edna would cause even more

troubles for her despite the fact that she had made the video incident clear. And Edna was even more

powerful than Calvin.

Jean thought sorrowfully as she reached home and took a look around the living room.

'When did I start being so afraid of staying alone somewhere?' She asked herself, 'It seems that I have

become particularly fond of the company of a lot of people ever since I have become pregnant.

Now, with Zed's parents gone and with him going to work everyday real soon, I will be all alone and

only

Moore will be here to accompany me, and he will not stay here all the time and will have to leave at

some point.'

Jean sat on the sofa, seeming lonely.

After he had changed clothes, Zed walked downstairs and when he saw Jean's facial expression, it

was immediately clear to him that something was wrong and he understood what was going in her

mind. He quickly walked over to her and comforted her, "Jean, don't be so upset. Next month, I will take

you back to the Imperial Capital to visit my parents."

"Okay. Are you going to work now?" Seeing that Zed was dressed up in a suit, Jean asked.

"Yes. Moore will stay at home and accompany you. If you feel bored, you can go shopping…"

Zed smiled.

"Aren't you afraid that Moore and I will encounter someone from the Bai family if we go out?" Jean

immediately asked in amazement.

"We met Hanley yesterday. I think he and Moore have come to some sort of understanding and he

won't bother you any more. As for Edna, we have just met her. I already told you that she is going to be

very busy these days,"

Zed explained.

"Zed, is Hanley really so useless that Edna has to help him deal with the troubles he causes?" Jean

asked curiously.

"I don't know Hanley very well. But everybody from H City knows clearly that he is addicted to

gambling. And what's interesting is that he is really bad at it even after his addiction, which is why he

does not want Moore to go back home. If Moore inherits half of the property of the Bai family, Hanley

will not be able to gamble at will in the future."

Jean nodded. Finally, she sighed and said, "Gary must know about Hanley's addiction to gambling,

right? I think it is because Hanley has let Gary down that he wants to find Moore and ask him to come

back."

"You have reversed these two things. It was Gary who neglected Hanley first. Then, Hanley became

addicted to gambling," Zed explained.

"What? So, Hanley is actually a poor guy. But that doesn't mean he should be so cheap just because

Gary neglected him in childhood," Jean remarked in shock.

"It doesn't matter who is to be blamed. Anyway, I have a meeting in the afternoon so I have to go to the

company now." Zed leaned over and kissed Jean's forehead.

"Okay. Come back early in the evening." Jean waved at Zed, showing him that she was well-behaved.

Zed nodded. Although he was reluctant to leave, he couldn't have stayed and then left hesitatingly for

office.

After he had left, Jean turned on the TV as she was feeling bored, even though she wasn't actually

interested in it.

Jean suddenly sighed and went upstairs.

'Since it's safe outside, I can go out and relax with Moore.

I haven't gone shopping for a long time. And Moore seems to have only a few clothes on him.

We both have spare time today. I think it's a good idea that we go out shopping, ' she thought.

Jean walked to Moore's room and knocked on the door politely.

With Moore's permission, she opened the door with a smile.

"Moore, let's go shopping, okay?" Jean walked into Moore's room and saw that Moore was sitting at the

desk and writing something. She could not help walking over to him and asked, "What are you writing?"

"No… Nothing…" Moore looked a little nervous. "What did you say? Shopping?"

"Yes! I haven't gone shopping for a long time," Jean looked at Moore and said with her eyes full of

expectation.

"Okay! Please wait for me in the living room. I will come back downstairs soon."

Moore nodded to Jean.

"Okay." Jean nodded. Before she left, she looked at Moore who seemed to be hiding something with

his hand nervously and smiled. Then she turned around and walked outside.

With the door of the room closed again, Moore let out a sigh of relief behind her back.

He took the item from behind him and looked at it sadly, as if he didn't want it to be there but had no

choice.

"Moore, you have to…" Jean suddenly opened the door and walked in, surprising Moore.

There was a naughty smile on her face upon seeing that Moore hadn't had time to hide the item in his

hand. She quickly walked over to him and grabbed the blue card from his hand.

After a quick glance, she asked in surprise, "Is today the anniversary of your mother's death? Moore,

why didn't you tell me that earlier?"

Moore became sad. "There wasn't any point in saying that."

"How can it be meaningless? We can go visit your mother's grave at the very least!" Hearing Moore's

words, Jean became anxious.

"We can't go there today," Moore replied with disappointment.

"Why?" Jean asked with a puzzled look.

"Because he will go there today…" Moore hesitatingly explained his reluctance.

Jean immediately understood what he meant. She walked over to Moore, and said seriously, "Moore, I

know you hate him and do not want to meet him. But you cannot give up visiting your mother's grave

just because you do not want to meet him! You know clearly how important this day is. Besides, he

won't stay there the entirety of the day. Take your belongings, and we will go over there quickly.

Together!"

Jean gave him a push to urge him into action.

There was a helpless expression on Moore's face. He wanted to refuse Jean's advice, but seeing that

she was helping him select his clothes, he could only close his mouth and smile bitterly in his heart.

"I think this suit looks good. Black represents solemnity and mourning." Jean quickly picked out a black

suit and handed it to Moore.

Moore reached for it and smiled helplessly. "Jean, I don't want to meet him…"

"Who said that we are going to meet him? We're going there to visit your mother's grave." Jean pushed

Moore into the locker room. "Quickly change! Don't be indecisive."

Hearing Jean's words, Moore smiled bitterly and entered the locker room and changed his clothes.

After a while, Moore finished changing his clothes and walked out hesitatingly.

Jean's eyes suddenly brightened.

After Moore's discharge from the hospital, he had now recovered quite well

and wasn't as thin as he had been some time ago.

The black suit made his skin look fairer and made him more handsome.

Jean could not help whistling and naughtily told him, "Moore, if you walk in the street now, all the girls'

attentions will be attracted by you."
