Arrogant Man VS Unyielding Woman

Chapter 541 I'm Impressed

Chapter 541 I'm Impressed

Moore and Jean exchanged looks and found them both surprised and confused as if mirroring each

other's expressions.

Despite knowing that she wasn't welcome at the table, Edna still sat down and interacted with them.

Judging from how arrogant Edna always was, it was unbelievable that she was acting like a shameless

rascal now.

'Where is her grace? Where is her elegance? Her charm?

Where is her demeanor?'

Jean thought and was really confused to the point that Edna noticed how Jean's eyes sparkled in

confusion.

"You don't have to look at me that way. I don't think I am in the wrong here. Besides, I am older than

both of you after all. Isn't it disrespectful of you to treat me in such an impolite manner?"

Edna asked, giving them a sarcastic smile.

Jean swallowed a bile that formed on her throat, looked at Moore, and shook her head confusingly,

hoping that Moore would get what she was trying to say in that gesture.

Moore looked at her and back at Edna, trying to suppress his rage and smiled coldly. "Since you think

we have treated you badly, why are you still here? Mrs. Bai, I think I have already made myself clear. I

don't like you, wait no. In fact, I loathe you. If you still have a sense of shame, you shouldn't be sitting

here, humiliated by us."

"Moore," Jean said, reaching her hand out to hold Moore's. Her eyes widened in surprise at what he

said.

Yes, she also hated Edna and didn't want to see her or even talk to her, but what Moore said to Edna

would get himself into trouble.

'Why could't he hold it for a little longer?' Jean thought, worried that Edna might cause them trouble for

Moore's rash words. Edna held her head and position high enough for nobody could rival with her.

Once she got mad, everyone involved would suffer.

However, when Jean heard what Edna said next, she realized that Edna was more shameless and

cunning than she had thought.

"If you don't want to see me, then why are you still here in the H City? Hanley believes that you will give

away the Bai family's property, but I don't. As far as I know, he is also the only one who believes it."

Edna paused and drew closer at Moore enough that he could hear her loud whisper. "You'd better tell

me everything, Moore. If you answer well, I will take care of you. No foul play behind."

At that very moment, Edna had revealed her true face and questioned Moore in a cold voice.

'So, this was her real purpose, ' Jean thought, frowning.

She suddenly realized something, and slowly anger mounted on her face.

'Why does everyone in the Bai family have to humiliate Moore in this way?

Why are they accusing him of coveting their property?

Why do they see Moore in this way?

Is it because he is poor and owns nothing? No! They don't have the right to look down on him.' From NôvelDrama.Org.

Jean opened her mouth to talk. "We..." However, she was interrupted by Moore before she could refute

Edna.

"I don't need you to believe," Moore said, staring back with the same cold eyes at Edna. "If I were you, I

would not stay here. If you keep annoying me, I'll change my mind and get my portion of property back

at any time." Moore's eyes pierced Edna's.

Meanwhile, in her mind, Jean applauded Moore for his witty comeback.

To deal with people like Edna, it was necessary to adopt a harsh tactic, so as to make sure that you got

into someone's head and not just in and out on one ear.

As expected, Edna's face darkened. Her nostrils flared as she took a deep glance at Moore. After a

while, the sides of her lips lifted up into a big smile, making both of them surprised at this sudden

reaction. "You two naughty children. Did you really think that I came here to look for you? Of course

not. I am meeting someone else here, and since I saw both of you come in, I thought it was polite to

acknowledge and greet."

Jean was stunned and looked at Edna with astonishment.

Comparing with the glamorous image on the TV, right now, Edna was a completely different person.

How could one person have so many different faces?

"Please enjoy yourself. My treat," said Edna with a huge smile on her face as if she wasn't attacked

verbally moments ago. Before Jean and Moore could refuse, Edna had already started walking away

keeping the grace.

Both of their eyes followed Edna as she stopped in a table occupied by a foreigner with blond hair and

sparkling blue eyes. She sat down across from her. "Hello Jick, I am here. Sorry for keeping you

waiting," she greeted warmly.

'So, Edna really is not here to look for Moore, ' Jean thought, feeling embarrassment surging inside her.

Jean took back her surprised look and turned at Moore, who was now looking down and staring at his

cup now filled with cold coffee. He looked deep in thought.

"Moore?" Jean called out, trying to take him out of his trance. She was deeply worried and concerned

for her friend.

Moore took back his gaze at Jean and slightly shook his head before saying, "I'm fine. Don't worry."

"Edna is such an erratic person. She changes her face so fast. Don't you think?" Jean sighed and

added. "Moore, you should be more careful. Zed had told me previously that she has a tough

character, but I didn't believe it until today. I've learned how inconsistent she can be, and to be honest,

I'm impressed."

Moore's eyes widened in disbelief. "Oh, come on, Jean! Really? Impressed? Out of all the emotions

you could be feeling at the moment, you chose to feel impressed?" Moore chuckled at her, half hoping

that she was just kidding. "You'd better go home and have a good rest for your baby. Don't get

distracted by someone unimportant."

Jean frowned at him. "I am impressed by her," She retorted. "She is such a shameless rascal that

nobody can rival. It is a great breakthrough. Besides, being impressed at someone doesn't necessarily

mean you admire that person."

Hearing Jean's words, Moore sighed in relief.

He was afraid that Jean changed her mind about Edna and couldn't tell right from wrong, or that Edna

had successfully gotten into her head.

After hearing her mocking Edna, Moore dropped his worry, gave her a smile, and sighed. "Jean, when

did you start to have such an evil mouth? Where is the old kind Jean that I knew of?" He lightly

punched her on the shoulder playfully.

"My kindness depends on the person I'm dealing with," Jean said before turning angry at Moore, giving

him a slight pout. "Also, I didn't expect that you don't fully trust me. You just hurt my feelings, Moore."

Moore sighed helplessly. "My bad, I'm sorry. I was just too worried about you. You tell me that you are

impressed by her, so what do you think are the thoughts that would invade my mind?" He paused and

sighed once more. "If I don't worry, it means I don't care about you. Jean, do you want that to happen?"

Moore looked at Jean with an eyebrow raised and asked back smilingly.

Jean was a little taken aback and stared at Moore's eyes, sinking into a deep meditation.

As Jean looked at him intently, Moore suddenly shivered and felt scared, so he asked, "Why are you

staring at me like that? What's wrong? Is there something you want to tell me that I should know of?"

Jean looked at Moore for a few more seconds before she shook her head and sighed. "Nothing. It's just

that you've changed."

"Changed? How? Where? In what manner?" Moore asked, surprised at her epiphany.

"I can't explain exactly. I just feel like you've changed a lot. For example, before, when you were faced

with any member of the Bai family, you always wanted to escape and avoid meeting them. But now,

despite still having a burning hatred for them, you have become composed and calm,"

Jean said as she looked at Moore with a wry smile on her face.

Moore pouted and put on a helpless look before letting out a deep sigh. He shrugged and said, "What

can I do? Before, I was careful not to touch the memory about it or anything related. But now, I have to

face all these problems, and I honestly am still uncertain of how to deal with it when I'm confronted

about it. Then again, you are right. I can't always escape."

"Moore." Jean reached her hand out again to touch Moore's in efforts to comfort him. Seeing Moore's

sad face, she felt a surge of sorrow. "Whether you forgive Gary or not, accept him or not, I'll support

you. I won't speak for him any more, and I won't cause you any trouble because of me."
