"I mean, if you don't make more money, how can you afford to buy me such expensive skirts and

heels?" Violette put on her slippers, walked up to him, and added, "I've never worn anything this pricey

before I grew up."

Elijah said, "That's just sad."

He said that and got into the elevator.

She stared in disbelief as the elevator doors closed.
