I woke up feeling sick and rushed to the toilet to throw up. This has been happening for a few days now, and I knew exactly what was going on. I’m pregnant, and I don’t have a

mate yet.

I was scared, so scared because in the Redmoon pack, a female unmated werewolf is forbidden to get pregnant, and I was.

I was scared because if I can’t present the male werewolf who got me pregnant, I would be beheaded, and my family would be cast out from the pack.

And my dad, as the head warrior of the pack, would be stripped of his position and all of his possessions.

I shivered in fear, though Dylan, my boyfriend, had already promised me that he would take control of everything if I ever got pregnant, but strangely, I was scared and unrelaxed.

“Oh, moon goddess, please let him be my mate… please… If he isn’t, please don’t let him forget his promise to me… and my pregnancy, our child…”

“How are you so sure that Dylan would stick to his promise!” She facepalmed herself. “I can’t believe this!”

“He would. He even promised to make me his chosen mate, his Luna if I’m not his fated mate. Aren’t you happy for me, Mira? Like, this is what I’ve ever wanted, and you know it.” I looked at her, hoping for her approval but all I got was a disgusted gaze and hurtful words.

“You shouldn’t have given yourself so cheaply to him. It looks as if you’ve been pretending to be all holy and righteous all through.”

It was like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders, and I could breathe again.

“I’m so glad that we are mates! I hugged him so tight that tears of joy filled my eyes.

“Dylan, I have something to tell you… I’m pregnant.” I spilled the beans with a smile on my face, but the next thing Dylan did was disheartening. He removed my hands from his body and ran out of the hall, leaving me all alone on the dance floor.

“Where could he be?” I muttered to myself.

I searched around for him everywhere but couldn’t find him. I got tired and was about to head back into the hall when I heard whispers coming from a closed room.

“How could you be so reckless to impregnate her, Dylan? This wasn’t part of the plan!”

That got me shocked that I stopped in my tracks, moving closer to the room door and placing my ears on it, my heart thumping wildly in fear.
