Chapter 335
Chapter 335
Blair’s pov
Despite how much I had tried to convince him that I could make my own way home and didn’t need him
to take me home, he kept on insisting and here I was in his car that probably caused millions of dollars.
I squirmed in the psssenger’s seat and felt really embarrassing because he was definitely going to see
the place where I stayed.
He had still not started his car yet, and when I glanced at him, I realized that he was writing something
on a couple of papers. On noticing my stare, he began to speak. “I’m just sighing my part of the papers,
I’ll be done in a few moments.”
I remained silent because I was wondering how that was any of my business, but then he was handling
the papers to me after a few moments and I was blinking at him in confusion.
“Go through it and put in your signature.” He explained and i spluttered. “Why the hell do I have to go
through it? What’s it to me?”
“You might as well go through it instead of asking me all these.” Was his response and i huffed in
irritation as I glanced at the papers. I began to go through it, and the more I read, the more my eyes
widened, and the more the color left my cheeks.
“This is a… a promissory letter?” I spluttered while still reading through the papers.
“It’s a promissory slip, yes.” He responded and I glanced at him instantly.
“I’m not freaking running away, I’m going to pay you all what I owe you.” I said to him while waving the
papers in his face.
“You kept mentioning about how you had no money, it made me have doubts, so I had my lawyer draw
this up super fast.” He responded and I felt more color left my cheeks.
“Your lawyer is involved in all these?” I demanded and he rolled his eyes.
“Stop sounding so shocked, if it were you, you’d have involved more than one lawyer.”
“It can’t even be me because there’s no way I’d be wearing a suit as expensive as that, it’s a freaking
suit and not a house.” I bristled out but he only rolled his eyes.
“It’s designer, also whatever. Sign the papers already, you’re wasting my time right now.”
“I asked you to let me go on my own, that way, you won’t have to waste your precious time.”
“And have you run away? I think not.” He said with a small chuckle and I felt a little guilty color fill my
face, of course he was fast enough to have figure out that I had been planning on running away if I had
left the hospital on my own.
“Now sign the papers already and quit wasting my time.” He reminded me again.
“Do we really have to do this? I promise you I’m going to pay you back.” I tried once again.
“You still need to sign that, Blair.” He responded and I scowled at him as I hastily signed the papers and
shoved it back at him.
Once he had packed the papers in an envelope, he started the car and glanced at me.
“Now, where do you reside at?”
———
James’ pov
On arriving at her street, I felt my mouth turn in a straight displeased line at how poor the streets
looked, and when she finally pointed at an apartment, I stopped the car before glancing at her.
“This is where you reside?“
She sneered. “I can literally see the judgement on your fave right now. What? This place is too poor for
you? Well, it’s where I reside at, so deal with it.”
I blinked at her in confusion, feeling completely taken aback.
“You had better don’t get all mouthy with me.” I snapped back. “You don’t even sound greatful, I literally
took you to the hospital when you fainted!”
“I was grateful, until I heard I also had to pay the hospital bills, and the rest of the prize on the papers I
had signed, so yeah, I’m not grateful, uh-”
“It’s James.” I supplied helpfully. “Also, I should have just left you after you had fainted.”
“I think dying would have been so much better than me now having almost a hundred thousand dollars
debt to pay back.” She responded in a cold voice, and that was when it hit me that she actually
honestly believed I was being serious about wanting to get paid back.
“You had better don’t die for now, at least wait until you settle me off completely.” I finally responded,
when what I had wanted to say was to ask her a lot of questions about how she was fairing.
“Yeah, whatever. So, can I go now?” She asked after scowling at me for a few seconds.
“Of course not,” I responded calmly.
“Why not?!” Her eyes were narrowed inquirely.
“I have to come with you?”
“Why?”
“To know the exact room you stay, so you won’t be able to run away.” I responded calmly and watched
as she regarded me like she wanted to slap me.
——
On arriving at the room she called her door, I stopped her from going in and then I began to speak.
“Because I’m a gentleman and also because I feel like you might have some other more urgent debts
to settle for now, my own payments can wait for now.”
Her eyes lit up beautifully. “Oh my gosh, really?”
I hummed. “Yeah, but you have to see me at least once a week, so I’d be sure you’re not forgetting
about the agreement and have the thought of paying me back at the back of your mind.”
“Oh, that could work, where should we meet?”
“At any restaurant of my choice, I’d always come pick you up. Every Saturdays, right p.m.” I spoke
calmly as each words popped into my head.
“Why do we have to meet at a restaurant? We could meet at any other place but that.” She responded
with a purse of her lips. This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.
“You literally don’t have a choice now, we meet at any fucking restaurant and you must be ready before
I get here.” I paused and closed the distance between us a little. “If I come by and find out you’re not
here or you refused to come with me, then be prepared to hear from my lawyer… and I’m sure you
don’t want that, because I assure you that there'd be so much damages fee to be paid.
She gulped emptily but remained silent.
Yeah, that’s what I thought.
——
I was getting into my car and about to drive home when I got a call from Luca, and before I could even
speak, he was already saying, “Our Condo got blown up last night.”
