Chapter 343
Chapter 343
James’ pov
I hated to admit it to myself that after I had dropped Blair off at her apartment after she had gotten
discharged from the hospital, I had been unable to get her out of my head, which I wasn’t happy about.
When I had informed Luca and Luca that I was going to be unable to make it to Travis’ apartment
because I already had plans, of course they had both automatically assumed I did that because of Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
some random chick which I wanted to fuck. And of course I had let them believe hat on purpose,
because there was no way in hell that I’d be telling them the actual truth which was that I wasn’t going
to a club that night, but was going to go pick up Blair from her apartment and take her out to dinner, like
we had both agree on the day I had dropped her off at her apartment.
There was just no way I could tell them that, because I wasn’t sure I understood why I was actually
doing all these yet. It was most definitely not because of the money of my ruined suit and the money I
had spent in paying her hospital bills… so, what was it then?
I shook my head a little to get the thoughts out of my head, because it was starting to make my head
hurt.
I was currently driving towards her apartment, and I couldn’t even ignore the slight excited feeling in my
chest even if I had wanted to. A part of me had kept constantly thinking about her and if she had been
okay after I had dropped her off, and if she really didn’t have anyone to call like she had claimed bsck
st the hospital.
There was no denying it, I was worried about her. Perhaps that was why I was feeling this drawn to her,
because never have I ever felt this drawn to someone before.
Maybe after I see her tonight and confirm that she was perfectly fine, I was going to inform her at the
end of the dinner that I hadn’t planned on taking any money from her, and then I’d bid her a nice life
and be on my own way.
That was it. I said to myself as I slowly got closer to her apartment. The poor structure of the
environment and her apartment made me wrinkle my nose a little as I got down from my car. I hated
how poor and unhealthy this place looked, and if she wasn’t so bitchy and feisty, I’d have offered her a
place to stay without collecting a dime for her, just to ensure that she was living in a safe and sound
environment.
I climbed the stairs of her apartment, because they unfortunately do not have an elevator, which I really
think is absurd.
When I knocked on her door, I had thought she was going to keep me waiting on purpose, and a part of
me had even wondered if she wasn’t going to show up – but the door had been pulled open almost
immediately and she was stepping out to close the door behind her, before I could even get a glimpse
of the interior of her apartment.
I looked her up and down and wrinkled my nose as I took in her appearance, of course she had to
make it obvious that she didn’t want to doing this right now, all the way to her outfit. A pair of huge
pants hugged her hips and a hoodie I’d call ugly balanced the whole outfit, her hair was also in a a face
cap.
“Why are you dressed like this?” I asked as I folded my hand and didn’t bother to hide my
disappointment.
She only rolled my beautiful green eyes at me as she began to speak. “What? Did you think I was
going to get all dressed up for you? If you’ve forgotten, I’d gladly remind you that I do not want to do
this in the first place.”
Her voice sounded so melodic to my ears and for a moment, I imagined how she was going to sound
moaning my name. Of course as soon as that thought had appeared, I was quick to shut it down.
“Whatever, but you could have at least tried a little.” I responded with an eye roll of mine.
“You’re one to talk, of course you’re dressed in a suit.” She mumbled as she eyed me up
unimpressively.
“Of course I’m in a suit, it’s a dinner date for heaven’s sake.” I responded calmly, not letting her jab get
to mr.
“Hold up, it’s not a date, I urge you to not forget that.” She reminded me with folded hands and a glare
plastered over her face.
“I only said it was a date because that’s the general name it’s called, and not because it’s a date-date.”
I pointed out and then I let out a small scoff. “What, you thought I was referring to this as a date- like an
actual date?”
She only glared at me before walking past me, heading down the stairs.
“Whatever, let’s just get this over with,” She muttered under her breath and I suppressed a grin as I fell
into steps behind her.
———
“Did you seriously have to wear this ugly ass hoodie?” I demanded as I made to start up the car, and
she glanced at me to sneer at me.
“What? You’re being judgemental right now?”
I rolled my eyes. “It’s not that, i was literally speaking the truth, the hoodie really is ugly.”
“And you’re uglier, let’s not even talk about your taste in suits, that’s way worse.” She snapped back
and I let out a laugh as soon as her words sank in, I’ve got to give it to her this time, she does have
good comebacks.
“Oh c’mon, we both know you’re lying though your teeth right now.” I mused as I turned the key and
started the car.
