Chapter 358
Chapter 358
Sofia’s pov
If there was another word apart from excitement which I could use to perfectly describe how I was
currently feeling right now, I’d gladly switch my name for that word at this very moment, due to how I
was currently feeling.
Luca had said I could expand my painting.
He had finally agreed and given me the permission to do that.
And because of that, I was almost bursting with excitement.
I had barely been able to properly sleep last night due to how happy I had been feeling over Luca’s
sudden change of heart.
He had been a little bit odd last night, but it had probably been because of a new problem in his mafia
which I really do not want to hear anything detailed about.
When I had brought up the topic to him at dinner, I had been prepared to whine and try to get my way
at all cost like Kayla had advised me to, but I had barely begun to talk about it before he had agreed to
it.
I had asked him if I was sure about it when we got into bed last night and he had hummed about it
being perfectly alright. He went ahead to inform me that he was going to take care of everything, and
that all I needed to do was to get my paintings ready and to get myself prepared emotionally.
And that had made me extremely happy and relieved, because I had wondered about how I was going
to go about everything, but now that Luca had reassured me that he was going to be handling the
preparations and the likes, I wasn’t thinking about that any longer.
Now, I was almost bursting with how much excitement I was feeling, it was exactly why I had woken up
early this morning, right when Luca had been having his morning coffee.
I had cuddled against him on the couch and clung tightly to him, still whispering my thanks to him, and
him shushing me that it was alright, before he finally had to leave for work.
Gosh, I miss him already.
I glanced around for my phone and retrieved it on spotting it, and then I dialed Kayla’s number
immediately, wanting to break the wonderful news to her.
I’m sure she’d be surprised at the fact that Luca had given in already.
Without me even having to convince him.
She answered the call on the second ring and I sequeled into the phone and broke the news to her
before she could speak. I already expected her excited sequel before it echoed in my ear, and a
breathy giggle spilled past my lips.
Trust Kayla to always match an energy so far it’s a bubbly one.
“Are you being serious right now?!“ Kayla gushed out around an awed laugh and I nodded my head
hastily even though she couldn’t see me.
“Yes! I’m being for real right now, I’d never joke about something like this.” I gushed out.
“I don’t even know how it happened, I didn’t even have to try convincing him. He had just… agreed.” I
explained further to a very interested and hyped Kayla.
“Really? That’s actually really awesome and cool! Perhaps he had already been thinking about it and
had already decided to give you the permission you needed whenever you bring it up again.” Kayla
spoke and I mused over what she had just said, wondering if she was right.
“Hm, you might be right, I guess? But it doesn’t even really matter! All that matters now is that I’ve been
given the ‘go ahead’ that I needed.”
“Actually, you’re right. Why he had suddenly agreed isn’t our business.” Kayla agreed.
“Exactly.”
We talked on after that for a little while
“Oh, we don’t even have to worry about this. Luca said he was going to handle everything.” I explained
to her when she inquired if I already have a location in mind.
“Really? Damn, that’s really awesome. He really had been thinking about this topic then, that’s really
amazing.”
“I know, right?” I gushed excitedly.
“Congratulations girl!” Kayla breathed out after that and we fit into another round of sequel right after
that.
After a little while, Kayla had to go do something so we had to end the call with her promising to come
see me in a few days, and I couldn’t wait to have her. Kayla’s presence was really enjoyable to have
around, but only when you have the strength to match her very bubbly energy.
Once the call had ended, I made my way out of the kitchen and into my art room. I already saw Sarah
and Matilda this morning and Sarah didn’t look all that sick, which I was really glad about.
I pulled the curtain of the windows in the art room open, loving how the warm sun spilled into the room
to lighten up the portraits in this particular direction beautifully.
I pulled my stool forward and settled on it, brush in hand and clear board before me, ready to be
painted on. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
I got lost in what I was doing until I heard a little sound behind me that made me jolt in shock as I
instantly glanced behind me, eyes settling on a sheepish looking Ryan.
“I’m sorry, ma’am. Did I startle you?” He asked and I chuckled as I rolled my eyes, as I kept my brush
aside and turned around on the stool until I was fully facing him.
He was dressed in the usual guards’ uniform that clung to all his muscles.
“No, you didn’t.” I finally responded.
“Good. I just wanted to check in on you, ma’am.”
“It’s Sofia.” I reminded him, reaching out to hit his chest playfully since he was standing quite close to
me. He caught my hand in his and held it, his hand enveloped mine completely and his tan skin
contracted sharply with my porcelain white ones.
“It’s a good thing you’re here, I wanna tell you something.” I spoke, not bothered about him still not
releasing my wrist, because that was literally what I had wanted since the very start– for him to be this
comfortable around me.
Like friends were supposed to be around each other.
“What is it?”
“Luca finally gave me permission.” I breathed out excitedly and watched eagerly as a small smile
tugged at the side of his lips, while his eyes shone brightly.
“That’s awesome, Sofia. Congratulations.” He murmured softly and I felt my heart thump a little against
my chest.
Ryan’s hand was still enveloping mine. It felt quite nice.
Way nicer than I ever expected.
