Betrothed To The Mafia Lord

Chapter 360

Chapter 360

Luca’s POV

In all honesty, I had began to regret agreeing to the art expansion right as soon as the words had

slipped out of my mouth.

Do I regret giving permission? Hell yes.

I was a hundred percent sure Sofia didn’t understand ten percent of the danger she was going to be

putting herself in by taking this step. It was going to be extremely dangerous, and the fact that I’d be

too busy with work to always be around her in order to ensure that she doesn’t get hurt wasn't sitting

right with me.

If I hadn’t been drowning in guilt last night, there was no way I’d have agreed. It wasn’t even about me

wanting to make her happy, because I really do want to make her happy, so far it was in my power– but

then I also have to look at the pros and cons, and I definitely have to ensure that it was completely

okay and safe for her own good.

An image of her throwing her arms around my shoulders and thanking me over and over again last

night flashed through my head for the hundredth time since the moment I had agreed to her request.

The pure, undiluted happiness on her face had been too precious and priceless for me to bare last

night to be honest. I’d have tugged her into my thighs to litter her face with kisses on a normal day, but I

was still feeling too guilty and too disgusted with myself to do that.

A small sigh escaped my lips.

I glanced up as soon as my office’s door began to open, and I watched as James poked his head into

the office. He arched a brow at me before rolling his eyes and letting himself in fully, closing the door

behind him and sinking into the chair before my desk.

He placed his legs on my desk after a few moments and I scowled at him.

“Get out.” He muttered as I glanced back down at the files I was going through.

The company was working on a new project since the start of this week, which undoubtedly means my

coming schedules for the next coming weeks was going to be really heatic.

“Oh, stop being dramatic, Luca.” He drawled out as he tugged out as his phone and began to type

away on it.

“How has it been going?” He asked after a few minutes had psssed and I was yet to respond to him.

I let out a small grunt in response to him, and then I exhaled loudly.

“Quite terribly.” I muttered and as expected, James only snickered.

“How did last night go?”

“It was smooth, I guess. You know I didn’t tell her about it.” I explained and James hummed.

“Yeah, I know. You said you were not going to.”

“Do you think I should?” I demanded, shooting James a long look. James blinked at me for a moment

before sitting up and taking his legs off my desk, all traces of playfulness off his face.

“To be honest, man… I don’t know. I mean, you know I’m not the right person to answer that, seeing as

I’ve never been really serious with anyone before.” He began to speak and I nodded my head, James

was right. He was the worse person I was supposed to be asking that kind of question from.

Before I could even gather my thoughts, James was already speaking once again.

“But, from what I can see so far, I thought you had your eyes on her and no one else.” He paused. “I

mean, you don’t see anyone anymore for months, she was all and is all you always think about, so…

what happened?”

I winced and dragged my palm over my face, slumping further into my seat.

“I honestly don’t know how it happened, man. Nothing has changed between the both of us. She was

and is the only person I think about, she’s the only one I have my eyes on, I just… genuinely don’t

know how it happened.”

A look of pity crossed James face as he slowly nodded his head at me. “I understand you, man. I do, I

guess?”

I scowled at him. “Fuck off.”

He snickered at that. “But, she really does have you whipped, way whipped than I expected, to the

extent of you getting to agree to the art expansion thing, despite how dangerous it’s going to be.”

“Shut up.” I mumbled, hands massaging the pressure points around my forehead.

“She literally have you wrapped around her little fingers without even knowing, that’s fucking golden. If I

need something and you’re being an annoyingly, reasonable person about it, I’m just going to meet

your wife and have her ask you about it instead.” James continued and I rolled my eyes at him.

Of course he wouldn’t understand.

He’s literally James, the one who’s never serious about any woman.

He’d definitely never be able to understand.

“You know what, man. Jokes aside, I think you shouldn’t beat yourself over it any longer. It already All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

happened and there’s nothing you can do that’s capable of changing it.”

“I already know that and it’s not really helping much.” I informed him with a small sigh.

“Just don’t think about it so much, and keep it away from her at all cost because it’s going to hurt her.”

James adviced.

“I thought it’s bad to keep secrets between couples.” I murmured and James scoffed.

“You’re Luca, there are a whole lot of things which you’ve yet to tell your wife about, this one thing

wouldn’t really make a difference. And besides, what she doesn’t know wouldn’t hurt her.”

I mused over what James had just said for a few minutes before finally giving a few nods of my head.

I changed the topic right after that, informing James about needing him to help select some locations to

be sourced for, for the art expansion stuff. I informed him I’d like them to be close to the house if that

can be possible and James reassured me he was going to be on it immediately.

As James bid me a good day and was closing the door after him, a call came through my personal

phone which I ignored at first. It rang a few more times until i finally got too irritated to ignore it.

I picked up my phone and glanced at the caller ID, forehead pinching together and eyes widening a

little when my eyes glazed over the word ‘Alexa’.

Why was Alexa calling me?
