Chapter 30
“Miss Trista, I’m sorry to lend it to you,” the kidnapper muttered guiltily as he pulled me over.
I gave a nod. On the contrary, I was relieved when Cody apprehended me. At the very least, he would not lose control and point at me in that manner.
Cars arrived in a systematic fashion, one after the other. My eye was drawn to the logos of those vehicles. “Look! Those are private vehicles. They are Donald’s personal vehicles! Take a look at the logo on them!”
The kidnappers examined the cars and discovered that they were not police vehicles! But
“That doesn’t mean the individuals inside aren’t cops!”
“Look, each car has only one driver. They’re dressed in driver’s garb. Obviously, they are Donald’s personal chauffeur!” I’m certain.
Cody looked at him, still concerned. “It’s extremely likely that the cops disguised themselves as the driver!”
Eight cars came to a halt in front of us, then split to make space for one another. A luxurious limo drove right into the eyes of the audience.
Every time Donald appeared, he astounded everyone.
He walked down the steps with a haughty demeanor. Everything seemed to be quiet around him. Not only the kidnappers, but also I, were taken aback.
He was the one. He actually showed up.
He appeared to be the last one remaining in the world, and everything else had faded into obscurity. He walked towards me, his sparkling eyes fixed on me. He was dressed imposingly in a white pullover and slender jeans. For the first time, I saw how gorgeous he looked in white.
“Boss! Boss!” one of his men yelled in hushed tones.
With a fierce glare, the commander regained his composure and questioned, “Why did you summon reinforcements, Donald? I’ll kill her right now if you don’t want to save her!”
I could feel the knife creeping closer to my neck. I couldn’t help but feel apprehensive. Is he serious, God?
Donald gave a sardonic smile “one billion dollars in cash Do you want me to carry everything on my own?”
He made a motion, and the inner curtain was promptly lowered by the eight cars. The kidnappers’ eyes were about to drop when a mound of cash materialized in front of them. Some of the kidnappers scratched their eyes in disbelief. Were these actual dollars?
“Simply accept it.” Donald appeared to be uncomplicated.
The leader remained concerned. He motioned for one of his men to come over, but he didn’t expect him to flee in terror.
“How dare you be a kidnapper?” Donald asked, raising his eyebrows.
Donald made another gesture to reassure them. The eight drivers exited the car sequentially and retreated to one side.
When he noticed that there was no one in the car, he approached it with trepidation. He began by opening the door and patting the window. He dared to remove a stack of cash from the window when he opened the trunk and saw no one.
“It’s true, Boss! That’s correct!” The man counted the money one by one and was so overjoyed that he lost track of time. “Look, boss! They’re all real cash!”
The leader couldn’t help but crane his neck to take in his surroundings.
Another two men broke into the other two cars and took a couple wads of cash. “That’s correct! Boss! We’re now wealthy!”
“I know you won’t be able to get it back, so I sent you these cars.” “Give her back to me,” Donald shouted, raising his hand.
The leader motioned for all of his men to get in the car, and he led me to one. “Thank you so much, Miss Trista, this time!”
He shoved me ahead, tucked the knife away, and shut the door.
I stumbled forward out of nowhere. A soft embrace caught me just as I was about to tumble to the earth. My nose was pricked by a familiar odor. I looked up and saw Donald’s gorgeous face.
When the kidnapper started the car and was about to drive away,
“Stay put!”
I was taken aback. Following the sound source, I saw a police officer emerge from each car’s cash pile, rifles drawn against the kidnapper’s brow. “You are being investigated for kidnapping and blackmail. The evidence is unmistakable. Please accompany us to the police station to help with the investigation!”
“It’s a shambles!” The kidnappers didn’t anticipate Donald to contact the cops, and they didn’t expect the cops to hide in the cash pile. Many persons in plain clothes exited the vehicle just as they were about to resist. They approached each car and placed their pistols on the kidnappers’ heads. “Get away of here!”
I wasn’t expecting Donald to call the cops. “Don’t hurt them,” i pleaded as i looked up.
“Are they bribing you so soon?” Donald smiled sarcastically and continued, “I also prepare delectable meals for you. Why don’t you shield me more?”Original from NôvelDrama.Org.
“No, they’re not trying to hurt me!”
Donald looked at them and stated softly, “It’s their fault you’re scared.”
“Donald……”
“Leave it up to the cops.” “Let’s go home,” he replied, touching my hair.
“But….”
He grasped my hand in his and moved forward. I could feel the warmth of his palm on my hand. For some reason, I had a lot of bizarre thoughts. My thoughts were interrupted by the sound of a police siren not far away. When I turned around, I noticed the kidnapper’s eyes.
For a little period, I was moved. I abruptly came to a halt, as if I had realized the secret hidden in that set of eyes.
“What’s the matter?”
Was it a yearning to live? Or are you averse to being arrested?
“Donald, they’re not guilty!” I made the decision to reveal the truth. “That’s all. They had been framed. No, I need to make it obvious to the cops.”
“Nothing you say will change the fact that they are going to jail.” Donald placed his hands on my shoulders and slowly emphasized, “Everyone is responsible for their actions. They did indeed take you.”
“But there is a reason behind this. They would not have gone down this road if they hadn’t fallen into the trap!” I will continue to fight for a chance for them.
“You are correct. What will the world be like if every killer has a cause to kill, if the law is as emotional as you are, and if every criminal can be forgiven? What about the genuine victims?”
I was taken aback.
Yes, Donald’s words made sense. Whatever the cause, a kidnapped was a kidnapping.
They were, however, clearly framed.
Perhaps he was disappointed in me, since he retracted his hand and walked softly inside the car.
Looking at his back, I assumed he was irritated. He traveled a long distance to save me, but I continued to speak for the abductor.
I couldn’t bear looking at the kidnappers, who were shackled not far away, and then at their eyes. They were all wonderful people, but they were all falsely accused.
No, even if my words will not affect their fate, I must inform them of what I know!
A heavy coat was placed on me as I was going to stroll over. When I looked up, I noticed Donald had wrapped the coat even more tightly. “When you have time, you should worry about yourself rather than others.”
