Chapter 26: A responsible father

He said in low yet in understandable voice " I am really guilty."

There was really awkward silence in the room for a long time. The silence was broken by the sound of

the front door opening.

"Mother..Father, we are home." Li Ri and Li Ruan said as they entered the house.

Tang Fian was looking a little pale as she listened to her mother-in-law. She remembered that day

when she brought one year old twins childrens ; brother and sister with her in the Li house.

She can't even imagine what will happen if Li Ri and Li Ruan will find out that Li Cheng isn't their

biological father.

Just as she was immersed in her thought, she heard her children's voice from outside. She hurriedly

went outside and saw them taking off their shoes.

"Hurry get freshened up and come to eat snacks." Tang Fian said.

They nodded their head. Just as they were heading to their rooms, Li Ruan stopped. "What's wrong? "

Tang Fian asked.

Li Ri also stopped and looked at Li Ruan curiously.

"Mother, Where is father?" Li Ruan asked. Tang Fian was actually afraid that if they will enter the room,

they might find out the truth. Li Cheng and Su Yumi weren't in right mood to talk so they might spill out

the truth.

" Your father is in his room and is busy. If you have anything to say, tell me. " Tang Fian said. Li Ruan

shook his head : Actually it is no need. I was just asking." Then, he headed to his room. Li Ri also went

to her room.

Tang Fian sighed in relief. ' That was close. What would have happened if they came without anyone

knowing and heard all the things that the old woman said earlier..That can't be. The truth should never

be out.' Tang Fian shook her head to clear her thoughts as she went to the kitchen.

In Li Cheng's room;

After Tang Fian was gone, There was still awkward atmosphere in the room. The person in most

awkward position was Gong Xeng. He was silently standing beside Li Cheng.

Even though, Li Cheng and Gong Xeng knew eachother for a long time. But Gong Xeng was unaware

of the truth.

Today, he got a heavy blow by Su Yumi that the twins weren't Li Cheng's biological childrens and Li

Seulbi was the one and only child of him.

He was confused why a man would ignore his own daughter and love those twins as his own childrens.

He just felt like he hasn't known Li Cheng even a bit.

Gong Xeng took a deep breath and finally broke the awkward atmosphere "Well, I think i should take a

but if not then we should admit her in the hospital.."

"..I will write some medicine..Li Cheng, bring it and timely feed it to Xiao Seulbi. And as i said, If Li

Seulbi's fever can't get down within tonight, we should admit her in hospital tommorow. So, Auntie don't

worry too much.Our Seulbi is strong she will be fine. I will come again tommorow. Take care."

Gong Xeng wrote some medicine on a paper and passed it to Li Cheng. Li Cheng took it "Let me walk

you out ".Gong Xeng nodded and they both went outside the room.

Su Yumi sat beside Li Seulbi softly caressing Li Seulbi's hair. ' I hope after today, your father will take

care of you. That can make me die in peace.'

Just as Li Cheng and Gong Xeng went outside the room, they met Tang Fian who was carrying a tray

with tea and plate with pies.

"Oh, You are leaving already. Eat something before you go." Tang Fian forwarded the tray in front of

Gong Xeng.

Gong Xeng politely refused " Thank you, but i am in a hurry. My wife should be waiting for me. Today, i

promised her to take her to eat outside."

Tang Fian smiled understandingly "Okay, then ." She took the tray back to the kitchen.

Li Cheng and Gong Xeng walked out of the house and stood face to face at the gate. "About Today's

incident- "

Before Li Cheng completed what he wanted to say, Gong Xeng interrupted. " Don't worry. This friend of

yours won't say anything to others. Rest assured."

Li Cheng smiled "Thank you. " Gong Xeng nodded his head and got in his car. But before he left, he

called out Li Cheng who was turning to leave. Li Cheng looked Gong Xeng in confusion.

" Xiao Cheng, I know i shouldn't meedle in your family problem,still as a friend i will give an advice. Tho

i am confused why you ignored Xiao Seulbi before, I would like to tell you this ' Everyday is a new

chance to start anew.' I hope from now You can be a responsible father . Bye" Saying that Gong Xeng

rode off.

Li Cheng stayed rooted at the spot for quite a while before going inside the house. As he closed the

door, he mumbled " Yes, A responsible father."
