Burned Once, Never Again (Niamh and Castiel)

Chapter 100

"What's that supposed to mean?" Renee's tone shifted as she sensed something was off.

Castiel couldn't be bothered to deal with his mother anymore. He hung up the phone and said, "That's all for today's meeting."

At that moment, all he could think of was his mother's words. "Niamh showed up at Jamison Manor in a Bugatti Veyron today."

He pulled out his phone and scrolled through his messages, but he couldn't find any transaction notifications. This meant she hadn't used the credit card he'd given her.

Even though his account had no spending limits, the bank would have reached out to him to confirm such a large purchase. Yet, there was nothing-no calls, no messages. If she didn't use his credit card, then whose car was it?

Billie was her only close friend in Greenburg. However, she didn't have the means to lend her such a luxurious car.

He wondered who else it could be. If it wasn't borrowed, then whose was it? It must've been a gift from that man from overseas. It had to

Lucian was nervous when he was called in. "Mr. Jamison."

"How far have you gotten with the investigation into Titan International Corporation?"

"Well, I've sent the results to your email!" Lucian responded, his heart

in his throat.

It was obvious the results were far from favorable. Hence, Lucian had emailed them to Castiel, instead of delivering it in person.

As soon as his words fell, Castiel glared at him. Lucian stiffened up, adjusting his glasses.

Castiel booted up his email and scanned through the results. It detailed that the chairman of Titan International Corporation had a well-knit.mily with a loving wife and solid marriage.

Even though he didn't spell it out, Lucian caught on. It was obvious that Castiel wanted her to keep a tighter rein on her husband and

prevent him from pursuing a married woman.

"Got it!" Lucian responded.

Alone in the office after Lucian left, Castiel called Niamh over and

over again, but she refused to pick up. His expression grew darker by

the minute.

Frustrated, he pulled out a cigarette, lit it, and took a long, hard drag. Yet, it did nothing to ease his agitation; in fact, it made him feel even more restless. Chap 100

After leaving Jamison Manor, Niamh returned to her office. There, she found Cedric, a stern-looking man, sitting across her desk. He was the lawyer Simon had referred her to.

Cedric had arrived a couple of days ago, but she was too busy with the Leopardbite Intl.c deal to meet him then. So, she had Quinn book him a hotel room.

Niamh slid the evidence she'd gotten from Billie across the table to Cedric. "This is proof of all his affairs and abuse."
