Fragment of the past
“Someone is excited.” Emily teased Nima, but she herself couldn’t wait.
The urge to merge with Nima just grew stronger as of the moment she saw Joel.NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
Nima might not understand it, but she was able to be this accepting because naturally, her demon felt the bond pull and notified the host to claim their mate together.
Emily being there had made the acceptance get easier for Nima, despite the absurdity of the situation.
The incoming video call was soon received, and a piercing silvery brown orbs gaze at them from the monitor.
Nima cringed at the intensity in his gaze, while a rush of excitement overwhelmed her body like it didn’t belong to her.
The man on the opposite side of the call looked just as compelling as he did in his pictures and the video he sent previously.
His nose is well chiseled, and silvery brown orbs penetrating Nima’s soul like no secret can escape him. He looked absent-minded for a brief second, but then he flashed them a killer smile.
His teeth are so white and well set like it was rather painted than natural.
“Wow, the pictures and videos aren’t doing your beauty any justice. You look amazing, Nima.” Joel said, making a blush explode on Nima’s face.
God! He’s just as blunt as he was while chatting.
Nima was still admiring his exceptional yet cool face when he had said this.
“I see you still taking your time to check me out. Believe me that you won’t be disappointed. I am confident in complimenting your beauty just fine.” Joel said with so much confidence that only one word escaped Nima’s lips…..
“Shameless.”
Joel chuckled before diverting her attention to Emily, who had just watched and listened to them.
“Hi, beautiful. Thanks for the persuasion.” Joel showed his gratitude towards Emily, who, for some reason, felt her heart excited yet broke as she stared at him.
She couldn’t put her finger on it, but although Joel was their mate, with the bond she felt being expected, she still felt something tugging at her chest.
She wished so much to be United with her real host. Maybe she and Nima could comprehend this feeling together, but Nima is just a human crushing on a hot dude right now.
Emily decided to leave the two to talk. It seems like Joel had forced himself to give her that bit of attention anyway.
Acting drawn to him because he belongs to both of them wouldn’t do any good. Once he has fallen head over heels in love with Nima, they can just merge then, and even if Nima loses her demonic power, It would be worth it. As long as she didn’t lose Joel again….
Once again, Emily was confused by her own thoughts. She wondered if it’s because she was in a mere human’s body. Hence, her thoughts were getting jumbled up.
Why would she feel that she had once lost her mate?
….
Meanwhile, Joel wasn’t out of the mysterious feeling.
He wasn’t sure which of the ladies made her feel like a failure. It was weird, but when the call had connected and he stared at both ladies, it didn’t feel like a third party was present and there’s this guilt that struck his heart like he had hurt them or her….
He wasn’t sure, but the feeling wasn’t specific to a specific lady. As if hallucinating, he found himself laying flat on a surface he couldn’t pinpoint what or where it was.
He was weak, and the light in his eyes was fading. One thing occupied his heart, though.
It was a regret.
Alaya?
Everything flashed in his mind so fast, but the person in the memory was very sorry to someone named Alaya and he wished to reunite with her again, in a world without complications like the ones they were in.
In a stable word where he could love her and never leave her.
He felt sad.
This feeling was what made him look dazed for a brief second before he shook it off as quickly as it came.
It doesn’t make any sense to him.
The setting of the scene doesn’t even look modern. It was like he was in some sort of ancient movie.
Weird. He concluded, but there’s something more important right in front of him.
The more he caught a glimpse of Nima, he realized he was getting addicted before he even had a taste.
He wants as hell to express himself, but Nima doesn’t seem to like his vulgar honesty.
Emily had returned his greeting with a meaningful smile that Joel understood what would come next.
Nudging the still dazed and blushed wreck Nima, Emily spoke.
“I will give you two the privacy to have a chat. Let me go to the kitchen and get something prepared.”
Nima’s eyes widened, and she was about to object, but Joel spoke up. “Thank you for your consideration.”
Nima shut her mouth awkwardly before resolution settled in her gaze.
Joel liked that look.
He wanted her to be free with him.
Emily stood and left, leaving Joel and Nima to stare into each other’s eyes, ready to take a first step into a real conversation.
“I know I acted like a prick on my approach, but I still can’t apologize for the things I want to do to you. I would still like to say sorry for the manners in which I said them, though.” Joel said, and Nima wasn’t as weary as before.
Having known there was no threat to her career and being ready to welcome a sexual relationship in her life, she decided to be free and flow along with him.
