CEO's Substitute Bride

Chapter 405

Chapter 405

Emmett said last night that someone would come to pick them up when they went out.

Alyssa was only expecting that it would be the driver or a bodyguard. It was truly a surprise that Emmett would dispatch Frank to send them off.

Seeing that Alyssa had come out with Angela hand in hand, Frank called out with a smile, "Miss Moore."

Then he turned to look at Angela and called out with a smile, "Angela."

Angela still remembered Frank and called out sweetly, "Uncle Frank."

Alyssa did not expect it would be Frank who had come tonight, so she directly asked him, "Special Assistant Frank, how could it be you?"

"Maybe it is because Young Master trusts me more." Frank revealed a very shallow smile. He looked very calm and confident.

Alyssa thought for a moment. After all, she was going to take Angela out with her. Of course Emmett had to send someone trustworthy to see them off.

When she thought about it this way, she felt that it completely made sense.

Alyssa nodded slightly. "Then I'll have to trouble you."

Frank frowned at first and then smiled. He opened the car door respectfully.

Alyssa carried Angela into the car.

The place where Hazel had chosen to meet Alyssa was still Golden Fountain Club.

Considering what had happened last time, it was safer for them to meet in Golden Fountain.

Frank left after sending them to Golden Fountain Club. He returned to the Lawrence Group to report to Emmett.

Because Emmett had made clear Angela's real background, Kathleen had been trying to come to look for Emmett many times in the past few days.

When Frank pushed open the door of the CEO's office, he heard Kathleen's sharp voice. "What's wrong with signing this contract? Don't think that only you have the decision-making power. Half of the Lawrence Group is also mine!"

Then, Frank heard Emmett calling his secretary through the extension and said, "Come in and invite Vice President Lawrence out."

"Emmett, don't go too far!"

Kathleen was so angry that she directly threw the documents in her hand on the ground. Before Emmett's secretary could come in and chased her away, she walked out angrily.

Frank retreated to the door and slightly bowed his head, letting Kathleen go out first.

Kathleen noticed Frank was standing by the door and sneered. She snorted softly and said coldly, "You are a dog!"

Then she left in a hurry.

Frank closed the door without changing his expression. He strode to Emmett's desk and said, "Young Master."

Emmett was not affected by Kathleen at all. He was still focused on the documents in front of him.

Emmett said last night that someone would come to pick them up when they went out. When he heard Frank's voice, he did not raise his head either. He only asked, "Did you send them over?"

"Yes." Frank lowered his head slightly and said.

Emmett looked up and asked, "Do you have any news about the brain specialist that I asked you to contact before?"

Frank's face immediately turned serious when he heard that. "I have news. He will have time tonight. I have already made an appointment with him. You can go there directly when the time comes."

"Fine."

Emmett nodded and then simply stopped talking.

However, Frank had not gone out yet.

In the past, when Frank said that he was done, he had already left on his own accord.

Emmett looked up at him. "Do you still have something to say?"

Frank hesitated for a moment, but still asked the question in his heart. "Young Master, have you. . . have you recovered your memory?"

He did not doubt it for nothing.

The main reason was because Emmett asked him to fetch Alyssa and Angela. It was too abnormal.

Too unusual that, he had no choice but to make such a guess.

Hearing this, Emmett narrowed his eyes. A gloomy look appeared in his eyes but soon it quickly disappeared. "I remember something, but they are scattered."

Fragments and incomplete memories were very difficult to put together.

A look of surprise appeared on Frank’s face.

On the contrary, Emmett's expression became even gloomier.

He stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window. Then, he said slowly, "Alyssa is suffering from a physiological memory loss. She has been in a coma for three years. Although her body has recovered, her memory loss can be reasonably explained. However, I have looked for a doctor for a detailed

examination before and my injuries were not that serious back then."

The subtext was that his memory loss was not just an accident.

But maybe someone had intentionally set up his amnesia.

Frank naturally understood the meaning behind Emmett's words.

Before Emmett and Kathleen revealed their cards, Emmett had already asked Frank to investigate on what happened to Alyssa in the past three years, so Emmett was very clear about Alyssa's condition.

Emmett was very cautious when doing things. Before he looked for Kathleen to reveal his cards, he had investigated all the people who were related to this matter.

However, what related with Alyssa had to be investigated more carefully.

The moment Alyssa brought Angela into the Golden Fountain Club, she saw Xavier walking towards the two of them.

"Alyssa!"

Although Xavier was calling Alyssa's name, his eyes kept glancing at Angela.

Alyssa noticed his gaze and pulled Angela behind her, "Mr. Halls."

"Hehe." Xavier saw her small movements and smiled awkwardly, "Hazel is waiting for you in the private room."

After he finished speaking, he turned his head to look at Angela and revealed a smile that he thought was very gentle. "This is Angela, right? I am Uncle Xavier!" Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

Angela opened her eyes wide and poked her head out from behind Alyssa’s leg. She said in a small voice, "Yes."

Xavier's face was full of smiles. He did not know where he took out a rainbow lollipop and handed it to Angela. His voice was even more gentle. "Do you want to eat candy?"

If Alyssa did not know that Xavier did not lack money, she would have thought that Xavier as a bad guy who kidnapped and sold children for a living.

When Angela saw the rainbow lollipop, her big eyes stared straight at it and couldn’t look away.

There was no baby who did not like to eat candy.

Angela raised her small hand, but then retracted it at once.

She looked up at Alyssa and softly called, "Mommy."

Angela was using her own method to seek Alyssa's opinion.

Alyssa pursed her lips and smiled as she picked Angela up. "You can take the candy Uncle Xavier gave you, but you have to say thank you."

Angela looked at Xavier and quickly reached out her small hand to bring the lollipop over. She said

softly, "Thank you, Uncle Xavier."

Xavier's heart was full of joy.

"Angela, not only do I have candy here, I also have lots of delicious food, potato chips, all kinds of sweets..."

Xavier also said a lot later, but Angela only remembered the chips and the sweets.

She looked down at the rainbow lollipop in her hand and leaned against Angela's arms in satisfaction. Clearly, she was not interested in the things Xavier said.

Seeing the little girl ignoring him like this, Xavier looked a little hurt.

Alyssa said in time to cover things up, "Let's go find Hazel first. Angela is still too young and she can't eat a lot of things."

Xavier nodded and directly took them to the private room where Hazel was.

When Hazel saw Alyssa and Angela came in, her eyes lit up. She hurriedly ran over to Angela and said, "Angela, give me a hug."

Angela hesitated for a moment before reaching out her arms to Hazel.

Hazel hugged Angela with a face full of surprise. "Angela actually let me hug her. Isn't she afraid of strangers? She’s so cute. . ."

Hazel could not help kissing her a few times on her face.

Xavier took a deep breath and turned his head silently when he saw her.
