CEO's Substitute Bride

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

The way Alyssa served him the medicine was quite gentle, so gentle that he was a little moved by that.

Then one thing led to another, and he just wanted to touch her, to feel her.

After all, she was his wife, wasn’t she? Everything they did was completely natural.

The corners of his lips inched up as he leaned deeper and deeper. Groaning his lips brushing against her, he found himself going deeper and deeper into her grasp.

However, Alyssa didn’t feel in the same way. In her eyes, he was “Justin” Emmett’s cousin!

Over and over again, he teased her, kissed her, which were far beyond her tolerance.

Alyssa pushed him away abruptly, and stepped back a few steps, and kept some distance from him, said with a cold face. “Justin, I’m your cousin’s wife! Even if you don’t like me, please show some respect!”

After taking the bullet just now, her hatred towards “Douglas” was getting less, what she didn’t expect was he would still act so presumptuously.

“‘Not like you’ is far away from what I am feeling right now.” Emmett rubbed his lips, and there was a little bewitchment in his pleasant voice, “My sister-in-law, by committing to my cousin, you will be nothing but a widow for rest of your lifetime. It’s not like he could love you like an abled man. Why don’t you considering being with me?”

“The last I’ll do was to think about you.” Alyssa refused calmly.

Emmett looked down at Alyssa. He saw a tiny, numb face, coupled with an ugly dress. She looked like an old lady, nothing attractive.

But there was something about Alyssa that Emmett found irresistible.

Alyssa felt that she should no longer sit here and do nothing. She needed to do something before “Justin” started acting more presumptuous. Who knew what he’d do to her?

“You should call someone to pick you up and go back, or I’ll call an ambulance, and the whole world will find out that you got ambushed.”

Her voice was soft and didn’t feel like she was threating at all. She grabbed her phone and waved in front of him, indicating she would do what she had said.

Emmett glanced at her, as if he had not heard her and immediately closed his eyes to rest. Although his wounds were not as painful as before, but it was still painful to the instant to make a man fainted.

“Hey…”

Alyssa could not say anything. She bit her lips and looked at his pale face. Although he pretended to be strong during the operating, he still lost a lot of blood. She couldn’t bear to wake him up to drive him away.

Forget it. Let him lie down a little.

While he was resting, Alyssa went to the food market.

Although she was the so-called ‘Third Lady’ of the Moore Family, she didn’t have the kind of privileges that the title should entail. Most of the time, when she was ill, nobody cared. Nobody knocked on her door to check on her. When she was hungry, no one made her food. To them, there were only two children in the Moore Family worth of their care. She was just an extra item delivered free with them.

So she really had to take care of herself and up to now, she had done a good job of it.

No matter how much she hated “Justin”, she couldn’t take the risk of watch him die here.

She lived a serious life and worked hard for it. Of course she didn’t want to get involved with killing people, let alone being buried with him.

Therefore, she had to make some food for him reluctantly.

When the night fell, Alyssa woke up “Justin.”

“Are you hungry? I made some soup. Would you like to have some?” She stood two steps away from him, afraid that he would make some extravagant moves again.

Emmett looked up at her, and with great effort managed to say, “Yes, please.”

Alyssa put the soup on the small table in front of his bed and stepped away quickly.

Alyssa tried to avoid contact with Justin, but her single room was too small. Content rights by NôvelDr//ama.Org.

Besides the partitioned kitchen and bathroom, a 1.5 meter bed, a small folding table, a single sofa, and some new bookshelves only a few simple things have occupied most of the room.

As a result, no matter how far she hid, she couldn’t get out of Emmett’s sight.

Emmett glanced at her, slowly sitting upright, and then pulled the quilt away from him expressionlessly, exposing the gauze covered with blood on his chest, and said casually, “The wound has cracked. I won’t be able to feed myself.”

His indifferent tone sounded like he was talking about the weather rather than his own life.

Of course, that had to happen!

Although she didn’t want to bother with this man, she couldn’t stand watch it.

What she could do was to step over slowly, with one hand holding the bowl, and ladling the soup with the other into his lips.

Emmett didn’t say anything this time. He lowered his eyes and swallowed the soup she fed bit by bit.

There was silence in this small room, only the tiny sound of the spoon touching the edge of the bowl could be heard in the whole room. The uncertainly hung in the air, so thick you could cut it.
