Chapter 1128
Nash brought Orion over and quickened his pace when he heard Nina vomiting.
"What's wrong? Why are you throwing up? Are you feeling unwell?"
"I'm fine, just..." Nina trailed off as she started retching again. This time, it was more violently than before, tears welling up in her eyes. Nash scooped her up and started heading out, "I'm taking you to the hospital for a check-up. Dad, could you please look after Orion?"
Pharaoh, who had been observing silently, finally spoke, "You know I'm a doctor, right? You don't need to go anywhere."
He had his suspicions but wanted to confirm them. Nash, realizing he had overreacted, smiled awkwardly. He set Nina down, scratching his head, unsure of what to say next. With a clearer idea of what to check, Pharaoh instructed Nina to take a urine test. The results confirmed his hunch.
He couldn't contain his smile as he handed the test results to Nash. "You're going to be a father again."
"I'm going to be a father again?" Nash repeated, staring at the test results. His excitement was building until he lifted Nina and spun her around.
"I'm going to be a father again! Honey, we're having another baby!"
Nina smiled brightly, though she worried he might drop her. "Put me down, you're going to hurt me!" she cautioned, but Nash refused.
He was too overjoyed to let go. Orion had wished for a little sister, and now Nina was pregnant.
Orion, playing innocent, tugged on Pharaoh's sleeve and whispered, "Grandpa, why are Mom and Dad so happy?"
"Orion, you're going to have a little brother or sister soon," Pharaoh said, tapping him on the nose. "You're going to be a big brother, so you'll have even more responsibilities." "Really?" Orion grinned, though he had already figured it out. He just wanted to hear it confirmed.
With Nina pregnant, Nash restricted her time in the lab to just two hours in the morning and one in the afternoon, insisting she rest at home the rest of the day.
Nina found it hard to adjust. She wasn't experiencing the usual early pregnancy symptoms like fatigue or drowsiness and didn't feel the need to be so cautious. But Nash was adamant, his stance unwavering.
Not wanting to argue, Nina went
along with his wishes. To her surprise, Nash handed over all his work to Quincy. He dedicated himself full-time to preparing meals for Nina, cooking up something new every day.
Despite the delicious food, Nina's morning sickness grew worse. She couldn't keep anything down, often vomiting even before she had eaten.
Finally, Nash stopped her from going to the lab altogether, confining her to bed rest, which left Nina feeling bored.
While Nash was busy in the kitchen, she tried to sneak out for some fresh air. But as she reached the front door, a car pulled up outside, and she heard a voice before she saw anyone.
"Does Nash live here?" The voice was authoritative, even aggressive, hinting at the person's brash nature.
But to her surprise, the person who stepped out was a clean-cut, preppy-looking young man. When he saw Nina, he frowned and snapped, "Didn't you hear me? Why didn't you answer?"
"I didn't know you were talking to
me. I thought you were talking to the
air," Nina replied, not bothering to go out and open the gate. She was standing on the porch stepso observing him. Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
The young man looked annoyed, muttering something to the person behind him before turning back to Nina with a cold smile. "So, you're Mrs. York. It doesn't matter if he's here not. I'm here to tell you t that if my brother, Orin, can't return to the entertainment industry, I'll make sure your son never acts again."
"You try to lay a finger on Orion, and you'll see what happens," Nina shouted, her voice full of fury.
Nash, busy in the kitchen, heard the commotion and immediately rushed out.
