CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 1148

The possibility that the man might have ulterior motives crossed Lydia's mind, and she became instantly alert.

Given their current situation, she knew she was likely no match for him, especially with Quincy still sick and unable to help.

Sensing her unease, the man chuckled and said, "Don't worry, I'm not interested in you. I don't like skinny women. I prefer women with a bit more curves."

Embarrassed that her thoughts had been so transparent, Lydia felt awkward, as if she had been both paranoid and overly self-assured.

The man continued, "Just take care of him tonight. His fever should break by morning. I'll help you get out of here then. No need to thank me. Just bring me a couple of bottles of good liquor when you get the chance."

Relieved, Lydia smiled, showing her white teeth. "Deal. My family has some great liquor stashed away. You'll love it."

The mention of alcohol seemed to loosen the man's tongue. He grinned and said, "You must come from money if your family has such treasures. I bet it tastes incredible."

Lydia laughed. "You won't be disappointed, I promise."

The man nodded. "Alright, I'll go rustle up some food for you two."

As he headed to the kitchen, Lydia went back to check on Quincy. She touched his forehead and was surprised to find that his fever had subsided. Whether it was his youth and strength or the effectiveness of the man's medicine, Quincy's temperature had returned to normal.

Feeling relieved, Lydia smiled. It seemed like Quincy would be alright by morning.

She was about to fetch some water when Quincy suddenly grabbed her wrist. His eyes were open, and in a raspy voice, he asked, "Where are you going?"

Lydia's heart leaped with joy. "You're awake already?"

Before Quincy could respond, the man's voice called from outside, "Hey, kid! If you're awake, come eat something. Don't just lie there and make the girl do all the work

Quincy seemed to piece things together. Although he had been feverish, he hadn't entirely lost his senses. He got out of bed and said, "Let's go."

They joined the man at the table, and he had placed four slices of bread and two simple dishes of vegetables on the table.

"Sorry, it's not much," the man said, "I don't have a lot to offer."

He then glanced at Quincy and commented, "Your clothes look expensive. How did you end up out here?"

Quincy's clothing was understated,

I.ne

without any obvious logos, so most people wouldn't recognize its value. However, the man had noticed immediately. This made Quincy think the man might not be as simple as he appeared.

Quincy smiled and replied, "You must be mistaken. These are just regular clothes."

The man shrugged and didn't press the matter further. Instead, he said, "Your girlfriend really cares about you, dragging you all this way. You'd better treat her well."

Lydia was about to clarify that they weren't in that kind of relationship, but Quincy spoke up first, accepting the man's words without correcting him. After the meal, the man stretched lazily and said, "You two clean up. I'll leave you lovebirds alone."

With that, he casually strolled back into the house.

Lydia bit her lip, choosing not to question Quincy's actions. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
