CEO's Tears Over Pregnancy Test Discovery

Chapter 817

Nina was stunned. She held out her hand, showing the string of beads she always wore. "What did you say? This was your mother's keepsake?"

"Yes," Micah said, staring at her wrist.

"Impossible," Nina protested. "How can you be sure it's your mother's? It's just a string of beads. There could be many like it."

"This is the only one," Micah said firmly.

Nina stared at him in shock.

"You don't understand emerald, do you?" Micah began. "This region is known for emerald. No two pieces are alike in the world. Your beads are unique, which is why I'm questioning your identity. Are you really just Nina?"

Nina clenched her fists and took off the beads, placing them on the table. "These weren't originally mine. They were given to me by a friend. He gave them to me..."

Wilfred had given her the beads. He hadn't explained why, which was odd. These beads were precious to him. She remembered the words he had said when he gave them to her. "For your safety." That was all.

Looking at Micah, she realized he wasn't lying. He had always been interested in her beads, even asking her about them before. These beads were likely connected to him, but that didn't mean they were connected to her.

"I told you, a man gave them to me. If you want answers, you'll have to ask him. These beads are important to him," Nina said.

"If they're so important, why did he give them to you?" Micah asked.

Nina was at a loss for words. "I don't know."

"Maybe you are the rightful owner of these beads," Micah suggested.

"That's impossible. I have parents. I'm an only child. You must be mistaken, Micah. Maybe you and your sister have some unresolved issues, but I won't get involved in your family matters," Nina said, standing up, ready to leave.

Seeing the beads on the table, she turned back. "Regardless of whose beads these are, they're important to my friend, so I'll keep them."

"That's fine. It's fate that they ended up with you," Micah said with a smile, not minding.

Nina quickly left, feeling more confused than ever. She had come to find out Micah's identity, thinking she had found a way to get answers, but ended up tangled in a web of confusion. There was no way she could be connected to Micah. It was simply impossible. Feeling irritated, Nina quickened her pace. Micah watched her leave, lost in thought. There were still many things he needed to figure out.

When Nina returned, she saw a fresh bouquet of flowers on the table. They looked newly picked.

"Who sent these?" Nina asked, picking up the bouquet and sniffing it. It smelled lovely. All content is © N0velDrama.Org.

"I did," Nash replied. Nina turned to see him walking in.

She turned away again. "Why are you giving me flowers? Are you trying to cheer me up because you know I'm upset?"

"Yes, I'm trying to make you happy," Nash said, taking her hand. "Alright, don't be mad. Yesterday, I wasn't doubting you. I just think we need to check out Micah's background since you're getting close to him."

"You're just being jealous," Nina replied.

"What?" Nash denied.

Nina turned around, looking at Nash's face, which clearly showed his reluctance to admit anything. "You can't stand me having any contact with another man. Remember how close you were with Miranda? I didn't say anything about that."

Nash's face turned red. "That was a long time ago."

"Doesn't mean I can't mention it," Nina said.

"You can," Nash quickly responded, smiling warmly at her. "Whatever you say is right."

With his attitude, Nina couldn't stay mad. She had said she wouldn't forgive him, but a little coaxing, and she felt better. She had a soft heart and was quick to forgive.

"Now you realize you were wrong. Where were you yesterday?" Nina still had some resentment. "If you had comforted me then, I wouldn't have had to stay angry all night. Haven't you heard the saying, 'Never go to bed angry'? It's really draining. Do you know that?"
