Chasing Back My Ex-wife

Chapter 64

Chapter 64

"Kylah, what's wrong if I eat an apple? I think you have issues."

"I bought these apples. You shan't eat one if I say you can't! Have an opinion? Keep it to yourself!"

"You're such a stingy, unladylike woman. No wonder Oliver doesn't want you. No man in the world will want you!"

"Do you think you're really that charming just because women chase after you all day? If you weren't a Shaffer, no one would give a d*mn about you! They'd just treat you like a pushover!"

The two of them had been cursing each other out for two hours, but they never repeated the same insult. They were that great with words.

Lucy massaged her forehead, and she was having a headache. Did they know they were here to visit a patient?

"Get out." Arthur came in. When he saw the two of them, his brows furrowed.

Chad and Kylah, who were at each other's throats just a moment before, immediately kept quiet and went out with their tail between their legs.

In an instant, the whole ward fell quiet.

"Arthur, my wounds have healed. I want to go home today." The incident with Lizbeth bothered Lucy a lot, and every time she saw Arthur, she would think of Lizbeth kidnapping her and feel depressed.

In the past, when Lizbeth scolded her and she retorted even once, Arthur would make her say sorry.

But now... Hah!

As always, his childhood sweetheart always got special treatment!

Arthur glanced at her and went out for a while. When he came back, he said, "I've signed the papers for you to get discharged."

"Thank you." Lucy said politely and formally.

Arthur's eyes dimmed. She had treated him satirically at the start, but now, she was polite and distant. She was seeing him more and more as a stranger.

But even if she didn't like him, she was the only one for him!

"Lucy, you're finally getting discharged!" Kylah, who was eavesdropping at the door, immediately burst inside. "Come on, let's go home. I'll ask my mom to cook us a meal!"

If Lucy still didn't return, Caden was going to tear her house down!

"Babe, when can I eat your cooking?" Lucy brushed her curly light brown hair behind her ear, exposing her fair, tender earlobe.

Kylah shrugged. "If you're not afraid of being poisoned, I can cook today!"

They packed up Lucy's stuff while chatting.

Chad crept to Arthur and said, "Arthur, why are you such a failure? Look, Lucy's so flirty even to a woman, but to you? She's like an angry bull!"

"Think you're such a know-it-all?" Arthur looked at him coldly.

Chad coughed and immediately changed the subject. "Arthur, by the way, when will you make your move against Lizbeth?"

Arthur's gaze was glued to Lucy's body. When she bent down to pack her things, her clothes outlined her butt.

He couldn't help but to recall when she had knelt on the bed and begged for mercy. He felt himself burning up!

"Arthur, why aren't you saying anything?" Chad waved his hand in front of Arthur. "Who knows if Lucy's ignoring you these days because she thinks you're protecting Lizbeth!"

Arthur looked away, and a look of uncertainty came over his hard, handsome features. "She would get angry over something like that?"

In fact, he had already arranged everything, but his revenge plan would only be carried out after Lucy left the hospital.

"Why not? Arthur, I'm telling you, this is a big deal!" Chad talked as fast as lightning, "If I was a woman and my husband hung out with a woman who slapped me...I'd dump him for sure!"

The word "dump" made Arthur's heart stop, and he took out his phone and sent a text at the speed of light.

"Arthur, are you going to kickstart your plan?" Chad tried his best to look at Arthur's phone but failed. He felt so curious.

Arthur eyed Chad frigidly, walked over to Lucy, and took the pile of things from her hands.

"What the hell?" Chad's eyes widened. Arthur really was different from before!

...

In the bar.

Lizbeth had not seen Arthur for nearly half a month. She had given in, apologized, and even threatened him with the bond between the Byrd family and the Johnson family.

But no matter what she did, Arthur still refused to see her!

"Why won't you...see me?" Lizbeth picked up a glass of whiskey and tossed it back. Her eyes were long since dazed from drinking.

Lucy...

If only Lucy didn't exist!

"Lizbeth," Jenson took her glass away and coaxed her, "Stop drinking. You've drunk a lot."

"Get lost! I don't need your nose in my business!" Lizbeth pushed him away. "Why...are you so fake?"

She kept thinking that Jenson was helping her sincerely, but she didn't expect him to deliberately leave loopholes for Arthur to spot and scheme to frame her!

She would never believe him again!

"You've drunk too much." Jenson forcibly took away her glass. Traces of anger appeared on his charming face. He had given his all to her, but why didn't she believe him?

Lizbeth shouted drunkenly, "You've finally exposed your true colors! Jenson, you're just a sly fox pretending to be harmless! Do you think I'll believe you? Huh?"

Jenson's eyes darkened, and he watched her in silence. Suddenly, he pulled her outside.

"What are you doing? You...let go of me. Do you hear me?" Lizbeth kicked and bit him, but it didn't work.

Jenson wasn't gentle like normal. He dragged her outside roughly, not caring whether she could keep up.

"I told you to let go. Are you deaf?" Lizbeth stumbled after him, her head dizzy and her feet heavy.

Looking at the back of his head, her anger flared more and more.

Catching sight of a bottle on a nearby table, she grabbed it and smashed it into Jenson's head.

Smash!

The sound of the bottle hitting his head was music to her ears, and Lizbeth laughed.

This was the most joyful thing she had done in the past two weeks!

Jenson stopped and turned to look at her. His eyes that were usually dazzling were filled with pain, fury, and love.

Bright red blood flowed down from the top of his head like his bleeding heart.

"Don't look at me like that! You..." Lizbeth burped and said fiercely, "You disgust me when you look like that!"

Who did he think he was?

How dare he covet her!

"I'm warning you, stop...stop following me!" She glared at him, threw the bloodstained bottle to the floor, and staggered out. Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

The commotion attracted many people's attention.

The onlookers didn't think it was anything serious. Many of them recorded it with their phones while others whistled.

Jenson stood at the center of the crowd and watched Lizbeth walk away resolutely, sadness creeping into his eyes.

Lizbeth felt dizzy, and when she looked at people, she saw duplicates of them.

She knew that she had drunk too much, but that smash into Jenson's head let her vent all her anger, and she was in a splendid mood.

Her car was parked not too far from the bar. She hummed a love song she had learned specially for Arthur, took out her car key, and slowly walked forward.

But for some reason, she kept sensing that someone was shadowing her!
