Chapter 34 The Photos of That Year
His shirt was so loose in Betty. Even if all the buttons were buttoned up, he could still see her sexy
collarbones. As she got out of the bed, her slender legs were completely shown before him.
Kerwin looked away.
He always thought he had excellent self-control, but he was still tempted at this time. He had to take a sip of cold water to calm himself down.
Betty didn’t notice Kerwin’s reaction but just sat down to eat.
“I’ll be back this afternoon,” halfway through the meal, Kerwin suddenly said. “Are you going back with me?”
Betty thought of the dinner last night. Her eyes darkened and she nodded quickly. “Yes, I’ll go with
you.”
She had to dispel her misgivings. Even if she needed this job, she couldn’t stand Jeffrey anymore.
“Good.”
Betty remembered something. “By the way, why are you in Houston?”
Kerwin’s hand holding the knife and fork imperceptibly stiffened. He replied briefly, “There was an
unexpected meeting.”
“Oh, I see.” Betty didn’t think much, just concentrated on eating.
After her dry cleaning was sent back, she and Kerwin took the car to the airport and were about to return to Chicago.
Peter had been waiting in the hotel lobby. When he saw Betty, his doubt was dispelled.
He had been wondering why Mr. Martin came to Houston in such a hurry. So, he was here for Betty?
“Mr. Martin, here are some documents you need to sign.” Peter was shocked, but he didn’t show it. He just handed the documents to Kerwin. However, he still couldn’t help glancing at Betty.
The news he learned about Betty was quite shocking. Who would have thought that her first love
was…
“Ahem,”
Peter suddenly heard a cold cough while sighing over this. He immediately shivered, turned his
head, and then saw Kerwin looking at him coldly.
He quickly bowed his head in fear.
Betty didn’t notice their interactions but just got in the car with Kerwin.
After sitting down, Kerwin finished reading the documents. Then he closed them and suddenly remembered something. He said to Betty, “Betty, I want to take you to visit my family this weekend.”
Betts?
Betty was suddenly dumbfounded hearing Kerwin call her in such a way. She froze for several seconds before nodding. “OK.”
Betty was also curious about Kerwin’s family. She should meet them.
She didn’t think there was anything wrong with this, but Peter in front of them suddenly looked at them in the rearview mirror with shock.
Jesus, Mr. Martin wanted to take Betty to meet his family?
Then?
Peter didn’t dare to imagine what would happen.
Betty soon returned to Chicago, while Jeffrey was detained in Houston for several days for something
He planned to cooperate with Cooper’s magazine. After he got up the next day, he learned that Cooper’s magazine was sued for various ill-founded and false reports, and was about to go bankrupt.
He was shocked.
He knew that such an accident could never be a coincidence.’
Cooper was also famous in Houston. Only that man could do this to him!
Jeffrey was irritated for no reason!
Damn it!
Why did he even do this for her? He didn’t mind that Betty was already married?
After finally solving the mess in Houston, Jeffrey returned to Chicago. When he got off the plane, he saw Emily come to pick him up.
“Jeffrey!” Emily saw him and ran to him hurriedly. “You’re finally back. I called you so many times in the past few days. Why didn’t you answer?”
Looking at Emily who looked like Betty, Jeffrey felt irritated for no reason.
“Nothing. I’m busy. Just go back,” Jeffrey said something perfunctory, and then walked out of the airport without looking back.
Emily was left behind. She looked at Jeffrey’s back as the smile on her small face slowly stiffened.
She suddenly remembered what Jeffrey’s secretary said when she called her the other day…
“Jeffrey is going to Houston on business. No, not alone. He’s going with a reporter from our
magazine. You want her name? Betty.” Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
Emily clenched her fists tightly, and her sharp fingernails almost pierced her palm!
Betty! It was Betty again!
She was only a tramp. Why was she always trying to take Jeffrey from her?
Emily bit her red lip and finally made up her mind. She took out her mobile phone and called
someone
“Hello?” Emily’s voice was icy. “Do you still have those photos? Well, send them to me. I want all of
them.”
After returning to Chicago, Betty was worried that Jeffrey would pick on her for she came back to Chicago without telling him. To her surprise, Jeffrey didn’t do that.
Soon, it was the weekend.
In the early morning, Betty put on the dark red dress that Kerwin had prepared for her, a necklace with tiny diamonds and a pair of ribbon high heels. Then she walked downstairs slowly.

Kerwin was already waiting downstairs. Hearing footsteps, he looked up casually. When he saw Betty on the stairs, he was stunned.
He knew Betty was beautiful, but Betty seldom spruced up formally. Sometimes, she would even deliberately hide her beauty. Therefore, her beauty was covert and could only be captured occasionally.
After she put on the long dress he chose for her and light makeup. She was as attractive as a slightly
polished shiny diamond.
Betty walked all the way to Kerwin. Seeing that he looked at her silently, she was a little
embarrassed and then stroked her hair. “What’s wrong? Do I look weird?”
She had never worn such a dress. Just now, she secretly checked it on the internet. This dress was
incredibly expensive.
“Nothing.” Kerwin came out of his trace. “You are very beautiful.”
Kerwin liked to praise others, especially his wife.
Betty froze for an instant.
This was the first time that Kerwin had praised her?
“Let’s go.” Kerwin didn’t say anything else but quickly turned his wheelchair and then got in the car with her.
This time, they and Kerwin’s family were going to eat in a ritzy private club in Chicago.
The car stopped in the clubhouse. Betty got off the car, holding Kerwin’s hand. They took the elevator upstairs. In the elevator, Betty suddenly got a little nervous and she said in a soft tone, “Kerwin, will your family be difficult to get along with?”
“No,” Kerwin said in a flat tone. After pondering for a moment, he added, “But you still need to get prepared.”
Betty froze for a moment. Before she could ask why, the elevator door had opened and Kerwin wheeled himself out
She immediately followed, and they quickly entered the largest box at the end of the corridor.
Betty entered the door and saw that there was only one old man sitting in the box. It was probably Kerwin’s grandfather.
She smiled politely and walked up to him respectfully to say hello, but when she saw his face, she suddenly turned pale and stopped.
