The thought of what just happened in the room, made Fiona sliver. For the umpteenth time, she blushed.
When she examined him, she could sense some blockage in his navel region. This meant that Elijah was not lying about his impotence but... what about that bulge? That that was the sign of an erection! She didn't need to stare at it to know!NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.
After that small incident, Elijah instructed her to wait for him outside and didn't offer any explanation and she complied without asking questions.
"More" Elijah's words brought her out of her stupor. She looked at her empty cup of tea and nodded without saying a word. Then she handed her tea cup and let his highness pour her another cup of tea. Then she paused.
"I should be the one doing that," she said, almost awkwardly. Why was he serving her tea? The situation seemed to have reversed.
He said nothing in response. Instead, he handed her the teacup back, letting his hand touch the back of her hand. She shivered inwardly. She had been avoiding meeting his eyes since that incident but the sudden contact made her want to look at him, wondering what his beautiful gray eyes looked like at this very moment. Was he currently smirking? Did he intentionally do that?
"Master, the Alpha, and his son have arrived," Regor's voice interrupted her stupor and for a mornent, she thanked the goddess for the Alpha's arrival. Then her mood immediately changed as Zach and his father walked in. "There is no need for you to stand." Elijah said when she saw her reaction. Fiona nodded in response.
Fiona gripped the edge of her teacup tightly as Zach and his father, Alpha Cris, entered the room. The air immediately grew heavy with tension but this time, something inside Fiona seemed to have become more confident.
She met Zach's eyes that bore into her, his expression a mix of fury and disdain. Meanwhile, his father, Alpha Cris remained stoic, almost calculating as his gaze shifted between Elijah and Fiona,
"Your Highness," Alpha Cris bowed his head. "Forgive us for asking for your audience this early morning."
"No matter." Elijah casually waved his hand. "Let us ignore any ceremonies, this is still your pack's mansion. Take a seat."
The two complied without saying another word.
"Tea?" Elijah asked but he didn't wait for their response as he gestured for Regor to pour them some.
Fiona remained seated, her gaze fixed on the teacup in her hands as Elijah's calin demeanor filled the room. She could feel the tension building. She knew that Zach was fuming silently beside his father, but she kept her expression neutral, not giving him the satisfaction of seeing any fear.
Alpha Cris cleared his throat before speaking "Your Highness, I appreciate your time this morning. The natter regarding my son and his wife is a delicate one. As you know, issues within pack are often best resolved internally. We hope you would allow us to handle this privately, as it concerns the dynamics and honor of our family and park
Elijah didn't respond immediately. He took a leisurely sip of lustra, his eyes never leaving Alpha Cris. The silence that followed was thick and heavy before he finally set his cup down with a soft clink.
"I understand the desire to handle matters within the family, Elijah began, his tone even and calm just as Fiona expected. "However, when a mate is mistreated, it becomes more than just pack matter. It touches on the very laws that govern us as werewolves and the sacred oaths we make to the goddess during our mating ceremonies.
Alpha Cris shifted slightly in his seat. Elijah continued, his voice still calm but carrying an undeniable authority. "A mate is bo be protected Alpha Cris, cherished even. It is not just a custom, But a law-one that I take very seriously. It is in accordance with the laws of the werewolves and the vows we take to the goddess"

The room seemed to grow smaller as Elijali's gray eyes locked odio Alpha Cris's "Are you suggesting." Elijah said, his tone still unruffled. "That you plan to disregard these laws? To overlook the oath your son made?"
Alpha Cris's eyes narrowed slightly, but he quickly masked any list of defiance. "Of course not, Your Highness," he replied. "We have no intention of ignoring our laws or the oaths made to the goddess. My concern is simply for the well-being of my son and his mate. It is a private matter that we believe should be resolved without external intervention."
Elijah leaned back slightly. He continued smiling, "Private matters remain private as long as they do not violate the laws we all swore to uphold. Fiona's well-being is not just your concem; it is mine as well, as it should be for any leader within our kind. The question, Alpha Cris, is whether you intend to uphold those laws or if you would prefer to handle things. differently
The subtle challenge in Elijah's words was as clear as day even to someone like Fiona who did not study politics. Her mouth felt dry as she wondered what Alpha Cris would do next. She bither lower lips and pretended not to notice how Zach uncomfortably in his seat. Fiona knew the man so much that she could clearly see how Zach's anger was now barely contained. What is he going to do now? Is he going to challenge the Prince?
Alpha Cris met Elijah's gaze, understanding the full implications of what the Prince was saying.
"Of course, Your Highness," Alpha Cris finally said. "We will abide by our laws. I assure you of that."
Elijah nodded, a small, almost imperceptible smile tugging at the corner of his mouth "Good," he said softly. Then there is no more to discuss on the matter. Fiona will remain under my protection until I announce my verdict tonight." Fiona didn't miss the subtle but clear assertion of power in Elijah's words. She lowered her head
T-Tonight?"Zach suddenly chimed in. On normal days, he wouldn't have talked to the Prince while his father and the Prince was talking but is this still consider a normal day? "Your Highness, Fiona is my wife. I-" However, Zach did not continue his words when he felt his father's sharp gaze towards him. He swallowed.
Before coming here, his father told him that he needed to get Fiona away from the Prince no matter what happened. He recalled his father's words before they walked out of his office, the threats that his father made still echoed in his cars, "Then he gritted his teeth and suddenly fell to his knees. Without meeting Fiona or the Prince's eyes, he uttered. "I know I have sinned but please.." he made a deliberate pause, making sure that his next words would be emphasized "Allow me to make up for the sins I've committed in this marriage," he continued, his voice cracking as he spoke. The room seemed to close in around him. "I swear to you. I'll do whatever it takes to right my wrongs, to be the husband she deserves."
