Damian’s Obsession

23

“Do you have something to ask me?” I heard him ask so I looked up to see him staring down at me.

It’s now or never. I might not like the answer he would say but I just wanted to know the truth. I summoned all courage within me and opened my mouth.

“Are you part of a mafia?” I blurted out staring at him.

I felt his body stiffened beside me. His hands wrapped around mine tightened. His calm expression turned into shock.

What’s with that reaction?? That only means Roman was right. I could feel my heart tighten around my chest. I can’t believe I have been living with a mafia don.

Relax Selina. Don’t jump into conclusions yet. Let’s get the truth from him before accusing him. I managed to calm myself down.

The truth was right in front of me but I still refused to believe it. I wanted to hear him say it himself. I know it sounds stupid but I’m still holding unto a tiny bit of hope that what Roman told me wasn’t the truth.

I stared at him in waiting. I was waiting for his reply. I hoped deeply that everything would turn out to be a lie.

“Where did you here that from?” Damian asked.

“Just answer my question. Are you?” I asked again, getting rather impatient.

“We’ll talk about thus when we get home.” He answered calmly.

“Why can’t we talk about it now? It isn’t a hard question. Just answer yes or no.” I said raising my voice a little so he would see that I’m really serious and frustrated with his calm expression.

“I said we will talk about it when we get home.” He answered gruffly.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.

“But….”

“Just listen to me Selina. For once in your life.” He cut me off angrily.

I huffed quietly but didn’t pressurize him anymore. Moreover, I’ve got all the time in the world to get the truth out of him. Unless he decides to set me free.

Either way, I win.

We sat there in silence until the car finally came to a halt. I looked out of the window and realized that we had gotten to the mansion.

“Stay still.” Damian ordered as he came out of the car.

I stared at him in confusion. What is he up to?

He went round it and came to my side of the door. He opened it and wrapped his hands around me and carried me in his arms. I instinctively wrapped my hands around his neck.

I was shocked as be carried me like a baby in his broad arms. As we walked into the mansion, all the workers around bowed their heads as a form of greetings to Damian.

As expected, Damian ignored them. When they saw me in his arms, their eyes widened in shock. Their surprised gaze made me feel bashful so I hid my face in his manly chest.

I could feel his chest vibrate as a deep chuckle erupted from his mouth.

“Are you shy?” I heard him ask.

“Just take me to the room quickly.” I ordered ignoring his question.

“Okay princess.” He answered as he took long strides to my room.

I sighed in relief as he laid me gently on the soft bed so as not to touch my bruises. I know it’s only been a few hours but I was already missing the sweet scent of this room.

Thank God I returned back alive. Even though I received some bruises.

“Do they hurt badly?” Damian asked, referring to my bruises.

“Just a little.” I answered.

He stared at me for some time. He had a really dark expression on his face. Same expression he had when Roman assaulted me at the club that night.

“I’ll make Roman pay dearly for what he did to you. For all the pain he made you pass through.” He vowed as he placed a warm peck on my forehead.

I gazed into his dark hazel eyes. They looked scary and yet, oddly comforting. Who knew someone if his caliber would be capable of warmth. I wanted to say something but he beat me to it.

“I’ll go get the doctor.” He muttered and left the room, shut the door quietly behind him.

I sighed deeply. I thought he was going to get mad at me for escaping but seemed quite the opposite. It made me really scared because when Damian is this calm, he’s bound to do something dangerous.

I just hope he won’t do something he would regret later. The door opened again but it was a man I’ve never seen before, putting on a doctor’s coat that walked in with a maid trailing behind him.

He must be the doctor Damian was talking about. I stared at the door but I didn’t see any sign of Damián.

“Hello miss Selina. I’m doctor Felix.” The doctor greeted me cheerfully.

I turned my attention back to him. I must say, he is really gorgeous but not like Damian though. He had deep blue eyes that makes him look like he’s staring deep into your soul anytime he stares at you. And his dimples that shows anytime he smiles, gosh they are to die for.

If I haven’t met Damian yet, he would have been the most handsome man I’ve ever met. Wait.. What are you thinking Selina? Get those useless thoughts out if your head. You don’t even know him.

“Where did you get these bruises?” The doctor’s concerned voice brought me out of my thoughts.

“It’s nothing.” I answered.

He gave me a ‘I don’t believe you’ look before he proceeded with treating me. It felt like a huge weight had left my chest.

That was the only excuse I could come up with. You don’t expect me to tell him that I was kidnapped and almost raped by Damian’s friend.

After some minutes, he was done with treating and dressing my wounds. He also prescribed some pain relieving drugs for me.

“Make sure you take your drugs and eat regularly. I’ll be back tomorrow to check on your recovery. Have a nice day.” He said as he arranged his suitcase.

“You too doctor.” I answered with a smile.

He smiled back before be left. I touched my forehead and groaned in pain when my hands mistakenly had contact with my bruise.

I don’t know if it was the drugs that was given to me but my eyes started to get blurry and my head, foggy.

Before my eyes closed shut, I saw Damian walked into the room and he gave me a concerned look.

“Good night princess.” I heard him say as he gave me a short peck on my lips.

That was when my eyes finally gave up and I fell into a deep slumber.
