Dear Ex-wife Marry Me

Chapter 43

Dana didn’t expect to bump into Maja here, her eyes seemingly aflame with anger.

Because of Maja, Dana had previously made a fool of herself in front of lan, and she was just thinking

about how to win back his favor But before she could make her move, Maja showed up again Maja

ignored her and turned to lan with polite attitude.

“Mr. Raymond, could I borrow some chips from you? I’ll pay you back double.”

Everyone watching was surprised. Sure, there were many women trying to get close to lan tonight, but

he’d been pretty aloof, seemingly uninterested in anything.

Now here was Maja striking up a conversation with him in front of everyone, which was quite

unexpected.

If she was single, her intention of getting close to lan was clear.

But she’d already mentioned that she was married. A married woman asking lan for a loan?

That was a rather silly way to attract attention.

lan was taken aback by Maja’s request and before he could react, Tyler from beside him pushed

forward half of his chips. His eyes remained gentle, but there was a hint of mockery in his gaze. Like

the other onlookers, he thought Maja’s way of attracting lan’s attention was tacky.

So tacky that it was cringeworthy.

*Sounds like a good deal to me, Ms. Penny. You don’t mind borrowing my chips, do you?”

Maja had decided to ask lan for a loan only after considering her options. She didn’t know anyone else

at the table very well, and she was planning to work with lan in the future.

But since someone was willing to lend her the chips, she accepted graciously, “Thank you.”

Tyler didn’t look at her but just gave her a slight smile.

Everyone knew that Tyler did this because he didn’t want her to use this opportunity to disturb lan

But Maja didn’t care. She got the chips and then looked at the dealer.

The dealer immediately smiled, “Now that everyone is ready, let’s begin…”

“Hold up.”

Kurt Interrupted the dealing. “Let’s play no–limit today, shall we?”

This was a Texas Hold’em table. No–limit meant there was no maximum bet. It was possible to go

broke overnight, but it was also possible to make a fortune.

Once, someone played no–limit here and lost ten billion in one go. He supposedly committed suicide

after leaving and his body hasn’t been found to date.

Kurt was the sole heir to Summit Bank and he had money. Everyone else at the table, except Maja,

were super–rich second–generation kids who could afford to play. Suddenly, all eyes were on Maja, as

if hinting that she should back off.

Kurt was smiling. It seemed like he was determined to embarrass her, “Penny, have you ever played

no–limit before?”

Maja’s expression remained calm. She asked seriously, “What’s no–limit?”

Kurt’s face froze. This woman didn’t even know what no–limit was?

He gritted his teeth, suddenly feeling like a clown who had put on a show for himself. Material © NôvelDrama.Org.

“There’s no limit to the amount you can bet. We usually start our bets in the millions. Can you handle

that?”

Maja glanced at the chips in her hand and couldn’t help but ask, “So, how much are these chips

worth?”

Upon hearing this, Kurt finally burst out, “You’ve been here before, haven’t you? You don’t even know

the value of the chips?”

Maja blinked Innocently, “I’ve never been here.”

She wouldn’t admit that she had been here before.

Not just Kurt, but the other spectators were also stunned.

Was she a complete newble?

The chips in front of her were worth a billion. No wonder she dared to accept the challenge. She didn’t

even know the value of these chips!

She was indeed fearless because of her ignorance.

Everyone at the table fell silent, and the onlookers made no sound.

In this atmosphere, lan let out a soft laugh with a light smile in his eyes.

This was the first time he laughed tonight.
