Denied by Destiny: Trapped in the Shadows of the Mate Bond

Chapter 156

Hector POV

"Amnesia...no that can't be.."

"I'm sorry Miss Alora, you need to prepare yourself for long journey ahead of us." The doctor advises, who was looking more and more drained as the hours went by.

Amnesia?

I had been so careful when pulling her out of the water that it didn't occur to me that she could have already hit her head against a rock, or even received it from the Impact of breaking the watery surface from such a the great height. "She's forgotten...everything? Does she even have a head wound?" I ask slightly shell shocked by this turn of events.

"Yes,

when we first examined her, we found an internal wound to the back of her head."

"Don't you think you should have told us that, that's quite a big injury to leave out." I roar out before Aloral tuts at me and I adjust my tone to a low growl.

She should be grateful I didn't push him against the wall by his collar, how could he not tell me that.

"In all honesty, it's a miracle she's alive, let alone actually awake and breathing by herself. I'll have to run some tests, but she shouldn't be alone. She'll be frightened."

As soon as the Doctor says these words the room door opens, a slightly bewildered Kala stepping out of the room.

She looked puzzled but hardly frightened.

"You look like me." Her eyes turn to Alora, intrigue laced within them.

"Yes, we are sisters, twin sisters."

"I don't remember you." Her voice is colder than usual, avoid of emotion.

"That's okay, we are going to figure this out, together." Alora places her hand around Kaia's back.

"Luna, you should be in bed.." The Doctor insists.

"Luna, and that's my name right?" Kaia looks to us all. Again, no softness in her demeanour. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.

"No, your name is Kala. Luna is your title." The doctor's eyes fall upon me with unease. "My title?"

"Of this pack...you are the acting Luna."

"Pack?"

"Yes, you are a werewolf and we live in packs."

I can see the cogs turning in her mind, a mind that was having to relearn everything. She looked in pain from the strain she was forcing upon herself. Something I didn't like to watch.

"Right

Yes, I've established I am a werewolf, she has made her presence known to me." She clicks her tongue as she nods to herself.

"Does she remember anything?" I ask, keen to know if her werewolf is also suffering with amnesia. My eyes gaze upon the red mark on her neck...she must have looked in the mirror to realise she and Alora are Identical...but she hasn't noticed the red swollen bite mark on her neck.

"No nothing, her mind is blank just as mine. I'm sorry this must be very disturbing for you all."

"Disturbing for us? Goddess Kaia, it's you that..." Alora starts to turn Kaia, leading her back into her room but I take the opportunity to start as I mean to go on.

She is mine, I'll protect her no matter what.

My destiny never so clearly pathed out by the Moon Goddess than it is now.

"I'm your mate Kaia.."

"Hector!" Alora growls warningly at me.

"Mate?" She lets the word roll off her tongue, as if testing if she likes the sound of it.

"Yes, you are mine, and I yours."

"Now's not really the time.." Alora again tries to usher Kaia back into bed but she is captivated by my explanation that she ignores her double. "How would I know that?"

"A number of things but to start with tingles...you would feel tingles from my touch. My scent would also be appealing to you."

"Yes, you

stroked my arm earlier and you left tingles on my neck..." Her fingers automatically touch her neck, her eyes widening as she feels my mark.

"I've hurt my neck..." She moves to the mirror, her hands running across the swollen mark through her

reflection.

"I marked you.." I take a step closer to her, my wolf coming forward with me.

"You marked me?" She watches me in the reflection, her eyes darting to my neck.

"You haven't marked me yet, I did it hoping it would bring you back to me..." I walk towards her, placing her hands in mine but she takes a step away from me. her hand swooping across her neck again. Did she not feel me through the bond... "Yes, I felt it when I was in a deep sleep. It was a burning sensation." She tilts her head slightly as she gazes at me but keeps her distance.

"Coma, Kaia, you were in a coma." Alora walks to her, trying to encourage her sister back into the bed.

"Sounds worrying." She dryly replies before glancing back at the door.

"Is there somewhere to eat, I'm starving..."

"I'll have some food delivered to your room, but really I must insist you go back to bed Luna. You really
