Aveline’s figure suddenly swayed.

Selena frowned. “Hey, what do you mean by that? Explain yourself before you go in!” She tried to follow, but the bodyguards stopped

her.

As Aveline’s friend, she wasn’t allowed inside either.

“How frustrating!” Selena’s face scrunched up in anger. She turned to see Aveline staring blankly ahead, her face alarmingly pale.

“Ave, don’t listen to his nonsense. He’s just trying to scare you!” Selena said quickly.

Aveline shook her head. “He’s not lying. It’s possible that Lucas could hate me.”

Selena was confused. “How could that be? Before he regained his memory, he loved you so much. Even now, with his memory back, those feelings haven’t vanished. He should know your character.”

Aveline forced a bitter smile. “If it were the Lucas before his memory returned, I’d be sure he wouldn’t suspect me. But now, I can’t be certain.”

The real Lucas had an unpredictable nature, was naturally suspicious, and sometimes ruthlessly strategic. It was a side she had never seen, only heard about through his experiences. She hadn’t

been fully part of his life story.

When they returned, the hospital room door was open.

Sharon walked out from inside. When she saw them, a cold smile immediately appeared on her face.

Selena responded, “A mistress acting so arrogant. The world is really going downhill!”

Sharon’s face darkened. “You know well who the real mistress is!”

Selena wanted to say more, but Aveline stopped her.
