Enchanted Nightfall: Falling for Destiny

Chapter 318

Mrs. York hesitated, not wanting to crush her son's spirits. "Honey, it's just not looking great. I can't have you wasting your time chasing rainbows," she thought it over but couldn't bring herself to say. Tyrone eyed her skeptically. "For real? You're not pulling one over on me?"

Mrs. York snorted. "Get outta here. What do you take me for?"

"If you could just avoid setting me up for once, I'd be eternally grateful," Tyrone chuckled, while grabbing his sandwich and heading out.

Mrs. York muttered with a smirk, "Little rascal..."

In the afternoon, at the film set where Quintessa was shooting, Mrs. York and Serena paid a visit to her.

Serena gasped at the sight of Quintessa's costume. "Wow... Quintessa looks stunning, absolutely gorgeous!"

She quickly reached for her phone, only to be stopped by Manny. "No way, you can't take pictures. We've got a confidentiality agreement until the official promo kicks off. I'm only letting you in because we're like family. If the director finds it out, I'm toast."

Disappointed, Serena put her phone away. "Fine, no pictures. It's just... I wanted it for myself, not to share."

Mrs. York frowned. "Serena, behave. We need to respect the rules of the set..." Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

Serena nodded, somewhat contritely. "Sorry, Auntie. I just got a bit carried away."

During a break, Jonathan approached. "what brings you here?"

Mrs. York felt a twinge of guilt; recalling the embarrassing favor her son had asked of her, she feigned nonchalance. "Oh, just for sightseeing."

"There are a few spots worth checking out in Zion City. Let me treat you to dinner tonight," Jonathan offered.

Mrs. York was quick to decline. "No, no, that's not necessary. You go on with your work."

Jonathan smiled. "Grandma gets bored at home. You should invite her over for some card games sometime."

Mrs. York awkwardly agreed, "Ah, sure, sure."

Then, Jonathan dropped a

bombshett. "By the way, I mentioned to Grandma that I'd bring a fiancée home this Christmas. What do you think about Quintessa?" he asked, while nodding towards her

Mrs. York's eyes widened in realization. So, that's why her son was acting up; he was trying to outmaneuver Jonathan for Quintessa's affection.

Feeling a sudden surge of protectiveness, she thought, "Since you mess with my son's girl, you're fair game for a little sabotage."

Had she known it earlier, she'd have thrown a bit more fuel on the fire when showing Darlene Quintessa's pictures. "Should've played harder," she mused.

Assessing Quintessa with feigned

seriousness, Mrs. York opined, "Well, she's not quite suitable, don't you think? She looks a bit too enchanting, like a siren. Bringing her home might just give your grandma a heart attack. Your family, with its rich literary heritage, needs a match of equal standing. She's pretty, sure, but she won't pass muster with your grandma or your parents."

Jonathan listened with a polite smile, then replied, "Is that so? But Ty is also pursuing her, you know?"

Mrs. York nodded, saying, "Of

course, I know. You won't believe it,

but I caught them in bed this

morning. My face was so red that could barely stand it. Kids these days are so bold. They even said I might be becoming a grandma in a few months."
