Fall For Me

I wrapped my hands with a cloth before picking it up, The bottle had no labels, It was hidden in between clothes, I gently opened it up and smelled it and the place was so repugnant smell that filled the room, It was so choking I quickly shut it close

“Benson” I called out to Benson who was standing by the entrance of the room and who must have probably seen the bottle falling to the floor.

“Yes sir” He answered quickly, We looked at each other and nodded as if knowing what we wanted to say to each other. There is no doubt that this was the poison that was used to harm Valerie. I carefully gave him the poison to hold onto while I got to the bottom of this whole case once and for all.

“Shanice, Call out the occupants of this room,” I asked, eagerly waiting for the culprit so I could punish the person the way I had been planning.

“Well sir, The thing is, Well” Shanice hesitated, I got irritated, couldn’t she see I didn’t care about anything else, I just wanted to bring justice and punish the person accordingly.

“We don’t have all day, Speak,” I commanded with a stern voice while looking directly into the eyes of the elderly woman. She felt shaken and immediately spilled out.

“Room forty-six, step forward” Shanice yelled and slowly they came out, to my utmost surprise I saw one of the key suspects, Janet, What are the odds?

“Oh, it’s a pleasure to meet the occupants of room forty six” My eyes were fixed on Janet, Her face was facing down and her hands were behind her back.

“Will that be all Sir?” Shanice and I gave her a dead side eye, She immediately got the message and excused herself

“Who owns the last locker?” I asked while still looking at Janet.

“That will be me sir” Janet raised her head and took a step forward, claiming ownership of the locker.

“Hmm, I figured,” I said while trying to maintain a calm composure.

“But Sir-” Janet tried to explain but then I didn’t have time for explanations

“Shh shh, don’t speak, Benson call the doctor and inquire if this was the same poison that was found in Valerie’s bloodstream” And with that, Benson nodded and left to get the last bit of proof I needed, Janet would be punished for hurting my Valerie, She won’t escape my wrath, But first of all I need to be certain If that was the poison then the case will be closed.

“Take them to the interrogation room and don’t let any of them leave” I instructed one of the bodyguards before I left to check on Valerie again. I was worried about her, and I didn’t want to think about anything else, I wanted to be by her side, helping her to recover but instead, I was stuck with being a detective, But it was needed I wouldn’t let the culprit get away with their almost successful plan, My Valerie is so strong, She fought the poison and won, That is my girl, She effortlessly makes me fall head over heels for her. She is truly special.

I went up to her room and saw her lying with her eyes open, At first my heart skipped and fear gripped me but when I went over to her bed space and closer to her. She snapped at me.

“This is all your fault, I’m in so much pain, You caused this, I just wanted to go home, I didn’t ask for any of this,” Valerie said, I let out a sigh of relief and smile, But that smile was short-lived when I saw her holding her stomach and turning to the side.

“Valerie, what is wrong? Are you okay?” I asked in a worried voice, I touched her forehead and I could see she was burning up badly, I quickly took off my suit jacket and put a cloth over her head, She turned to the barfing bucket close to her and vomited, the bucket came in handy, I put it over there so she wouldn’t have to go through the stress of walking to the bathroom.

Slowly she fell asleep again and I couldn’t help but admire how beautiful she was looking. I continued to stare at her beauty before I heard a knock on the door. I turned and saw Benson standing there and I realized he had the last piece of information I needed. I kissed Valerie on her forehead and gently left to where Benson was standing.

“What is the result?” I asked, I crossed my arms and waited for Benson to reveal the truth of the result to me.Copyright Nôv/el/Dra/ma.Org.

“I am afraid that It is the same poison that was found in Valerie’s bloodstream” Benson revealed and my heart went cold immediately, I looked over to Valerie and I whispered under my breath.

“I will get justice for you” I left the room and with Benson following me at my back, We made a stop in my room to get my gun and we walked back to the interrogation room.

“Summon the workers,” I asked Benson. Shortly after they all gathered by the hall, I called out to the workers who were in the interrogation room.

“Now that everyone is gathered, We found the poison and the person responsible for the condition my Valerie is in right now, Janet step forward” I heard a loud gasp that left everyone’s lips and some people murmured.

“You despicable girl, you were supposed to serve her not kill her, I should have known, Something was always off about you, silly girl,” Shanice said, I waved my hand, signaling her to stop her rants and return to where she was standing.

“Janet you have been found guilty of attempted murder and shall be punished accordingly, Kneel” I commanded, My eyes turned cold, As she knelt before me, She didn’t say a word, she only cried uncontrollably, She didn’t beg for mercy and pleaded not guilty,

“Blindfold” The bodyguard walked to where she was and covered her eyes with the cloth and I pulled out my gun, I could see the grin on Shanice’s face and the fear and pity on others.

“This will serve as a lesson for anyone who tries to cross me,” I said as I held the gun against her head, ready to pull the trigger.

“Stop!, don’t you dare”.
