Valarie’s pov

“Is Carson around?”

“No ma’am.” I felt a bit sad, did I do anything to make him not come back? I was interrupted by Janet’s little voice.

“You sound a bit worried should I find his whereabouts?” Could Janet do such, I don’t want her to get into any more troubles as it is now let her be.

“Don’t bother, make me a bath.” I said standing up from my bed taking off my lilac dress and wearing a robe, I slept off wearing the dress Janet gave me. Janet was done preparing my bath when I walked into the bathtub and had a long shower. I blow dried my hair and came out to see Janet Standing besides my bed with two dresses.

“Ma’am please pick one.”

“How many times will I tell you, don’t call me ma’am, just call me Valarie.”

“It’s not my fault, I always forget.” She said laying the dresses on my bed.

“It’s fine.” I looked at the dresses displayed in front of me, there was a blue summer gown with floral designs and there was an orange gown with little pooka dots. “I’ll take this one.” I said picking up the orange dress.

I had breakfast after that and just went for a walk round the garden with Janet and some bodyguards. Subsequently how my life was everyday in this large mansion. I took dinner after a long day of walking around the big mansion.

“Is he back?” I asked Janet as I came out from the bathroom.

“No ma’am, are you sure you don’t want me to help check around for him or find information on where he headed to?” She said looking up at me with a smile.

“Why are you smiling? Plus I don’t want you to.”

“It’s visible.” Janet said

“What’s visible?”

“That you like him” Janet said looking at me. I turned to look her straight in the eye.

“what makes you think I like your boss.” I said wearing the earrings that I took off last night.

“You’ve asked about him like 3 times in the space of two days.”

“So I shouldn’t be concerned, me tobeing concerned doesn’t mean I like him, it’s two different things.”

A bright smile displayed on her face for the first time I have seen her smile this bright. “Okay ma’am let me prepare your breakfast, what should I prepare for you?”

“Nothing much just bacon and eggs. You may leave now.”

The door closed behind me slowly. I don’t like Carson, or do I. Mean his handsome and all that but me liking him is another thing entirely. I can’t believe she told me it was obvious, I’m just trying to be concerned, it’s not like I don’t care exactly he would always come back home. I wore my dress and fixed my hair into a sleek low bun. I ate breakfast and went back to my room.

“Carmen!! ” I said running to go and hug her. I missed her so much I felt tears gather in my eyes again. I looked around and noticed we were in a dark room filled with candles “where are we?”

“Reality Valerie, this is reality.” She said sitting down on a chair in front of me . Reality? “Sit.” I turned back to see a chair appear out of no where

“Ma’am? Can you hear me?” Someone whispered to me, I felt a little budge on my shoulder. “Ma’am!” I woke up all sweaty. “Ma’am are you alright?” Janet asked while touching my forehead.

I took a deep breath, ‘why would you think I’m not alright, what happened?”

“You were breathing heavily and shaking alot.”

“I was shakin” I said in confusion.

“Yes ma’am that’s why I rushed to know if your alright.

“Call the doctor immediately.”

She nodded running out my room. Why was I shaking and breathing heavily. My throat ached and I gulped a lot. After a while the doctor came and I explained weverything that was going on.

He said it was just a minor stuff and that it will go. “You just need plenty of rest nothing really important, di you have a bad dream to be precise?”

“I don’t know if I should call it bad doctor, I saw myself in a dark room with candles lit around the room. I was so scared and my sister told me it’s reality.”

“I think that’s what made you start breathing heavily, do you have a case of anything relating to restlessness? Or do you feel breathless sometimes?”

“No I don’t have any.”

He sat quietly and wrote down things in his note. What’s going on, honestly I’m tired of this doctor coming to see me.

“Umm you don’t any serious case just watch the intake of food and anything relating to sea food should be strictly prohibited.”

“Yes sir, thank you doctor.”

“I’ll be taking my leave now.”

I sighed after he left my room. Janet came afterwards Janet came to check up on me.

“Are you alright ma’am.”

“Yes I’m alright just don’t let Carson know about this. I don’t want to make him stress himself too much.”

She made a muffled smile, it was getting darker now, what was the time. “I want to watch a movie tonight.”

“There’s a cinema room in the last floor.”

Wait how big was this place? There were three archery rooms, three gardens. Now a cinema, well no doubt he spent alot of money making this mansion.

“Possible to get me something to eat, not food maybe a ham burger and fries?”

“I can order that for you.”

“oh, thank you.”

She prepared a bath for me before she left to order my dinner. I got into the bathroom and had my normal rituals for that evening. The first time I entered into my large wardrobe. I found so many expensive collection of different outfits and different exclusive brands from all over the world. I was amazed, I walked around looking at each of the bags and shoes lined up, the shoe sizes were my size. Did he buy them all for me? I scanned through everything, they were all brand new, my gosh.

I got my satin pajamas and left the big wardrobe. I saw Janet quietly waiting there for me.

“I have set up everything for you.”

“Led me there.” I said holding her hands, she looked at me sharply

“Ma-”

“Led me there Janet.” I said looking at her.

She silently dragged my hand as she walked up to the last floor. “We there yet?”

“Not close ma’am.”

I sighed as I continued walking up the stairs with Janet holding my hands.

I got there and the cinema was huge with two massage chairs. I told Janet to stay with me and watch the movie along but she hesitated.

“You’re always at my service right?”

“Yes ma’am bu-”

“So stay with me.”

We sat down on the message chairs watching Riverdale seasons together, after a long night of relaxing we went downstairs to have a good night rest, I told her goodnight before she headed out.

“Most certainly enjoyed tonight.”

I chuckled “I enjoyed it more.”
