"Mat, why are you here?"

Norah was quite surprised to meet Matthew here.

"Today is my dad's death anniversary. I'm here to visit his tomb. How about you? Why are you here?"

Matthew 's voice was particularly low.

"Are you alone?"

Matthew was shocked.

law.

here and see her."

At that time, there was another rumbling of thunder.

Norah and Matthew both sped up and went down the mountain.

her sandals were broken after missing the step. So, she couldn't wear them anymore.

"My shoes seem to be broken, " Norah said. And then, she bent down and took off the sandals.

carry you."

friend."

old ladies in their nineties, girls in their twenties, and pregnant women who just got married. Don't feel

sorry. It is my duty."

He continued, "To me, you are nothing different from them. You are also the one who needs to be

rescued. Take it easy."

Matthew's persuasion worked. After that, Norah felt at ease.

"Tell me if you're tired. I can come down and walk by myself at any time."

"Okay."

After getting his promise, Norah bit her lips and got on his back.

Matthew picked up her shoes on the ground with one hand after carrying her on his back.

"I'll take the shoes!" Norah said and took the shoes.

They had just descended a few steps, and the rain was getting heavier. The whole mountain was

covered with a thick layer of fog, and even their vision became blurred.

And then, Matthew's cell phone rang.

His phone rang again and again. Norah thought his family must be worried about him.

"Mat, let me down. I can walk by myself, " Norah felt really sorry.

No one had ever treated her with so much meticulous care. Although it was raining heavily, she was full

of lots of warmth in her heart.

"It's alright."

And then, he carried Norah down the last stairs.

Although it was still far away from the gate of the mountain, there were no stairs. The road ahead was

flat cement pavement and only some of them were slopes, but it was much safer.

A few peals of thunder rumbled again.

Matthew looked up and said, "The rain might be getting heavier. Norah, hold me tight. Let's shelter in

the pavilion."

"Okay, " Norah put her arms around his neck tightly.

Matthew carried her on his back and started running forward swiftly.

Finally, Norah saw the pavilion in front of them a few minutes later.

She pointed at the pavilion and was very excited, "Mat, I see it. We will be there soon."

"Okay."

Two minutes later, Matthew carried Norah to the pavilion.

Norah immediately got off his back, and hurriedly handed him the mineral water from her bag. She

said, "You must be tired. Drink some water."

He was tired indeed. Matthew took a few breaths and drank the water.

But suddenly, Norah realized something wrong till she saw the empty bottle in front of her.

She seemed to give him the wrong bottle!
