Chapter 2335
Chapter 2335
Charlie's heart ached with a softness he couldn't explain.
...
Soon enough, the word got out. Andrew's face turned as pale as a ghost, riddled with guilt as he apologized to Charlie, "Charlie, I don't even know how to begin to apologize to you. If it'll make you feel any better, feel free to give me a couple of slaps!"
"It's not on you!" Charlie snapped back. "Whoever did this should bear the responsibility!"NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.
Jonathan's expression was grim as he summoned the estate manager, "Pull the surveillance footage from where the incident occurred and send it to my phone!"
The manager hurried off to fulfill the request.
Jonathan glanced at Kya's neck, "Do you think she needs a full body check-up?"
"No need, she's not hurt anywhere else!" Charlie said.
Jonathan nodded slightly but still had the estate's doctor come over to examine Kya and provided some cream for the swelling and bruises.
He felt a surge of anger comparable to Charlie's. If anyone dared to lay a finger on his daughter, he would not hesitate to make them pay dearly!
It took Hogan a few hours to arrive from J City. Charlie insisted that everyone should keep enjoying themselves, "Keep the spirits up and continue having fun."
However, for the remainder of the time, Charlie held Kya close and never let her go.
Everyone tried their best to cheer Kya up. Nestled in Charlie's arms, a small smile finally returned to her face.
As the group finished their picking activity, a long table was set up in the garden for lunch, serving everything they had gathered.
The fruit was served fresh while the vegetables were taken to the kitchen to be cooked, making the meal particularly delightful since it was the fruit of their own labor.
Kya slowly forgot about the earlier incident, once again becoming the life of the party as everyone began to relax, preparing barbecues, fruit salads, and doing their best to maintain a light and pleasant atmosphere.
Jonathan even called the pastry chef over, setting up a station to prepare desserts on the spot.
Estelle smiled warmly, "I'd love to try something made by you!"
She still couldn't forget the birthday cake he made last time at Citadel!
Without a second thought, Jonathan had the chef prepare the ingredients and started working on a chocolate cake for Estelle.
Thus, everyone present got to witness Jonathan's talent and skill in cake-making, and they even got to taste a chocolate cake made by President Lamont himself.
Carson continued to showcase his newly acquired barbecue skills from the previous night. Marina managed to trade his barbecue for a plate of fruit salad, a dish of cold mixed vegetables, and a plate of poached fish
The fish, caught by Morrison, were prepared in three different flavors by the kitchen staff.
The lively atmosphere lasted until 4:30 in the afternoon when it began to get dark, and by then, Hogan had arrived.
Hogan waited anxiously in the living room for Charlie.
When Charlie arrived, he received the surveillance video Jonathan had sent over.
Jonathan had held off on sending it until now.
"Mr. James!" Hogan stood up, greeting him with a mix of fear and respect.
Charlie sat on the sofa across from him, his gaze fixed on the video.
His expression darkened at seeing Susanna berating Emily, and when he saw her threatening Kya and grabbing her neck, Charlie's face turned stormy, his hand trembling as he held the phone.
"Mr. James," Hogan started timidly.
Charlie, overwhelmed with rage, suddenly kicked the coffee table in front of him. The wooden table flipped over with a loud crash, spilling hot tea all over Hogan, who was too frightened even to flinch.
Charlie threw the phone onto the sofa across, his voice filled with a towering fury,
"See for yourself!"
Hogan hurriedly picked up the phone, opening the video.
Charlie lit a cigarette, struggling to open the lighter on his third try. He took a drag, his voice hoarse with anger, "Your daughter insulted my wife and laid hands on my daughter!"
