Chapter 2348
Xavier glanced at Norah, "You want to come with me on a blind date?"
Norah immediately pointed at Henson, "He's the one who wants to learn a thing or two."
Henson frowned at her, and Norah gave him a pleading look, Sorry, bro!Content from NôvelDr(a)ma.Org.
Xavier chuckled, "How old is Henson that he needs this kind of experience?"
Henson kept a cool face, "It's never too early to learn."
"Ha, ha, ha, ha!" Mr. Hanson burst into laughter. "You Thompson kids are too adorable. Let them stay and have some fun. Besides, if you run out of things to say with the girl, they can help break the ice!"
Norah nodded eagerly, "Exactly!"
The look on Xavier's face deepened, and he agreed, "Sure, the more, the merrier."
He turned to Mr. Hanson, "I'll take them to the garden to play for a bit. When Miss Raye arrives, send her to the coffee shop next door. I'll wait for her there."
Seeing Xavier in a seemingly good mood and not too resistant to the blind date, Mr. Hanson hurriedly said, "Alright, alright. Take the kids to have some fun first. When Ms. Cicely arrives, I'll have a servant guide her to you."
Xavier nodded lightly and said to Norah and Henson, "Follow me!"
Norah and Henson bid farewell to Mr. Hanson and followed Xavier to the garden behind the villa.
Leading the way, Henson made sure to keep a distance between them.
Norah walked along the edge of a flower bed, stepping on the frosty bricks. They were slippery from the previous night's frost, and she stumbled. Xavier, quick as a flash, reached out to grab her arm, "Be careful!"
Norah didn't say a word, merely shook off his hand and continued forward without looking at him.
Xavier paused for a moment, then caught up to her, observing her tense profile.
Sitting on a bench, a servant came over, placed down hot chocolate and pastries, and left.
Norah texted Henson, lowering her head, "Where did you run off to?"
Henson replied, "Practicing some shooting. Talk to Gonzalez, and make it quick."
Norah, "Can you not call him uncle?"
"I already did, so you don't have to, dummy!"
"Heh, have I turned from a banshee into a second brother?"
Xavier pushed the hot chocolate towards her, "Cold? The chocolate's hot."
"Yeah." Norah responded without looking at him.
Xavier frowned, "What's wrong?"
Putting down her phone, Norah looked up, annoyed, "Why go on a blind date? Is it engagements and weddings next?"
Xavier replied, "I only found out this morning."
Norah retorted, "You could have said no!"
"If not this time, then next time. It's just a meeting, I haven't agreed to anything."
Norah asked, "Did Grandma Hanson arrange this?"
Xavier's expression cooled, "Yeah."
Norah's mind raced, but her mood didn't improve, "What if she's really pretty and you fall for her?"
Xavier answered, "Do you think my heart is that easily swayed?"
Norah paused, both irritated and amused, her eyes misting, "Sure, your heart's as hard as iron, but,"
She looked down, voice low and
filled with a hint of sadness, "I'm just afraid

Xavier, seeing her despondent expression, felt a pang in his heart. He wanted to say so much more but ended up simply stating, "It won't be
Norah took the hot chocolate, sipping through the straw. The warm and sweet taste comforted her slightly. She gave him a cheeky glance, "No matter how attractive or gentle the other person is, you're not allowed to agree!"
