Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1339

He'd been the one to start trouble with Fiona, and after losing the fight and getting pinned by her, he was already feeling pretty humiliated. But then Mr. Trevor went ahead and tried to strong-arm Fiona into apologizing, making things even worse for him. His pride was really taking a hit! At this, Fiona glanced over at Nash, raising her eyebrows in surprise.

This was not what she'd expected at all.

Mr. Trevor, caught off guard by the scolding, was bewildered: "Nash, didn't Ms. Fiona just beat you up? Why keep bringing up such an embarrassing thing?"

Nash, his face flushed with anger, shot back, "I had it coming, so what?"novelbin

Mr. Trevor could only stand there speechless.

"Sir, Nash has a point. He got what he deserved," came a sudden, deep voice from the doorway. A man strode in confidently, his presence commanding, dressed sharply in an iron-grey suit. His expression was cool and detached, with eyes as deep and unreadable as a dark night. The room seemed to shrink under the weight of his presence.

Nash immediately calmed down upon seeing the man, lowering his head and not daring to speak further.

Mr. Trevor stood up quickly: "Mr. Woods!"

Jackson was a newcomer to Cedarvale, having only risen to prominence in the past couple of years. Initially underestimated, his steel-fisted methods quickly earned him respect and control over everyone within just half a year. In every circle, people greeted Mr. Woods with the utmost deference.

"Director," Jackson acknowledged with a slight nod before walking past him, his eyes settling on the young woman.

Unlike the previous night at the bar, today the young woman was dressed simply, her long hair tied back, highlighting the graceful curve of her profile and her perfectly shaped shoulders. Fiona looked at him with some surprise. She hadn't expected to run into Jackson here.

"Hey there, fancy meeting you again," Jackson said, stopping in front of her and gently tapping her head.

His tone was so familiar, with a touch of affection that even he didn't seem aware of.

Everyone in the room was taken aback, Nash included. Did his uncle really know Fiona? And since when was his uncle this gentle?

"Yeah, what a coincidence," Fiona

replied with a playful glint in her eyes. "Brother, I didn't know you were related to Nash. If I'd known, I might've gone easier on him out of respect for you." en

"My reputation carries that much weight?" Jackson's eyebrows rose slightly clearly amused by her calling him 'brother'. "This kid needed a wake-up call. Next time,

don't hold back."

"I agree, he does deserve it," Fiona nodded, clearly on board.

Nash: ...

He was still standing right there!

Is it okay to talk like this in front of him?

"Uncle, you know her?" Nash couldn't hold back his curiosity. Jackson

shot him a cool glance, not

bothering to answer, "Getting into a scuffle with a young lady, really showing off your skills there

Nash deflated instantly.

He hadn't planned on actually fighting Fiona, certainly not hitting a girl. His aim was just to scare her a bit. Turns out, Fiona was tougher than he'd expected.
