Chapter 673

Chapter 673

“Your men have been held down. There is no escape,” Marion said.

Drake turned to look at Debra with a cold smile. “Ms. Frazier, you’ve really surprised me.” Copyright by Nôv/elDrama.Org.

Debra tried to stand and run to Marion, but as soon as she got up, a wave of dizziness washed over her. She glanced at the wine glass on the table, quickly realizing that the wine had been drugged.

Drake had been prepared all along.

Before she could steady herself, Kale pressed a blade against her throat.

Debra’s body went limp, her strength fading fast. Through blurry vision, she could see Marion’s panicked face as he rushed toward her, but her consciousness was slipping away bit by bit.

“I thought the person she contacted this morning was Juan, but it turns out to be you,” Drake said calmly as he dusted off his suit. “You know how skilled Kale is. I’ll give you two choices: take Kale and me to the airport or watch her die.”

Neither of those choices was what Marion desired.

Debra tried to speak, but before she could, Marion’s voice cut through the room.

“You think I’d give up the chance to kill you just for a woman?”

Debra’s heart sank. She dug her nails into her thigh, trying to stay conscious. She couldn’t believe those words came from Marion’s mouth.

But as her vision cleared for a moment, she saw the gun in his hand, and it was pointed right at her.

A gunshot echoed in the room. Debra winced, digging her nails deeper into her skin. When she snapped back to reality, Kale had already pulled her aside.

Debra was surprised by how fast he was and the fact that he could predict the bullet’s trajectory.

“It seems you didn’t come here for Ms. Frazier after all. You’re here for my life,” Drake remarked.

“What do you think?” Marion asked back.

Drake leaned back on the sofa and said calmly, “Do you think I’m unprepared?”

“Bring it on. Let’s settle it once and for all,” Marion countered.

Drake’s smirk slowly faded. He winked at Kale, who immediately pushed Debra in Marion’s direction.

Without a second thought, Drake and Kale used the confusion to flee, leaping from the third–floor window using a rope.

Marion caught Debra in his arms. Randy shouted to the group, “After them.”

“Debra, are you all right?” Marion carefully laid Debra down on the sofa, checking her eyes and tongue.

“Water!” he shouted.

“Oh, right.” Randy hurriedly brought a glass of water.

“More,” Marion ordered.

He poured the water into Debra’s mouth until she threw up.

Her mind started to clear, and she hammered Marion’s shoulder. “Why are you here so late?”

“I’m sorry,” Marion mumbled.

Debra hit him again, sulking, “And what did you just say to Drake?”
