Chapter 59
Third-Person Narrative.
As the search for who may have kidnapped Gina and blurred out her memory intensified, Lucas Amel was restless and desperately looking for ways to make sure that they didn’t find out that he was the one who penetrated the act.
Since he wasn’t sure of Lucia’s true intention for blurring out Gina’s memory, he was unsure of her next move, and he didn’t want to be caught unawares.
In his desperation, he went to the rival pack he had allied with to help them build a powerful army capable of overtaking the silver pack army.
Meanwhile, Gwen was having problems revealing her pregnancy to everyone. She was having the worst type of nausea, as the slightest smell would trigger her to throw up.
Due to this, she most often locks herself up in the room after sending off her maids.
Her maids were already raising their eyebrows, and little gossip was already making the rounds.
She knew it was only a matter of time before people would tell her she was pregnant, and she needed to act fast.
She very well knew that there was no way she could use magic on the triplet, and that was what prompted her to ask Mara for a nonmagical herbal potion that she could use on one of the triplets.
She had been very specific with her request; she just needed something she could lace any of the triplet’s drinks with so he would spend the night in her place and force him to have s*x with her.
Mara was supposed to have delivered the potion earlier, and up until that night, she had not seen Mara.
She was a little bit reluctant to call her father and ask why Mara had not come because she wanted to avoid telling him about the portion.
She had also yet to tell her father about the pregnancy because she felt that he would be very disappointed in her.
But left with no other choice, she picked up her phone to call her father and ask him about Mara. He told her that Mara had since left the house after telling him that she was coming over to her place.
She insists that she has not seen Mara, and they both become very worried. They both knew that if anything happened to Mara, it was going to rub off on them.
Meanwhile, Mara was somewhere in the woods, looking at some of the newly recruited pack warriors bathing in the pack stream.
She had never seen lots of young, able-bodied, naked men before, and she was completely fascinated by their beauty.
She had been there for some time while holding on to the potion that Isabella had told her to prepare for her.
And one of the warriors playfully throws his friend into the stream; she finds herself laughing out loud and, as a result, directs the warrior’s attention toward where she was hiding.Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.
“Who is there?” one of the warriors asked as they suddenly stopped what they were doing to go check who was spying on them.
From the person’s laughter, they could tell that she was a girl, which made it even more suspicious for them because they knew it was unusual for female wolves to be out alone this late.
Panicked at the fact that they might catch up with her, she quickly transformed into a raven and flew over them.
The guards saw the raven fly over them, and this further heightened their suspicion, along with the fact that they could pick a distilled scent that was peculiar to witches only.
They quickly sent a mind link to the other warriors, telling them what they had just seen.
Denver and Derrick were on night watch when they got the message that a witch had been spotted in the stream.
And this made them very watchful, as they kept their eyes and ears open for any strange sound.
Not long after, they noticed a bird perching on Gwen’s window. After some time, Gwen opened the window, and the bird flew in, after which she closed her window.
This prompted Denver to run into the palace to see what was happening, while Derrick stayed back to keep watch to see if more were coming.
As soon as Mara entered Gwen’s room, she quickly transformed into her human form. Gwen was furious at her for keeping her waiting, and Mara apologized to her.
She was about to hand the portion to Gwen when Denver kicked the door open. As soon as Gwen saw that it was Denver, she started crying pretentiously.
“Please, save me; she is a witch; save me,” Gwen cried while running towards Denver.
Out of fear, Mara quickly transformed into a raven and attempted to fly out of the window.
But she crashed against the window glass and fell to the ground while transforming back into her human form. She had completely forgotten that Gwen had locked the window when she flew in.
This allowed Denver the opportunity to catch her and pin her to the floor while putting the special iron gloves he has been carrying around on her hands to restrain her from using her power.
He calls the other guards to take Mara to the royal dungeon while he tries to attend to Gwen, who is pretending to be terrified of what has just happened.
Even though Denver was suspicious of Gwen’s involvement, her pretentious cry made him believe that perhaps she might be innocent.
After trying to calm her down for some time, she told him that she was still too scared to stay by herself and that she wanted to follow him.
But he assures her that he would send Derrick over, as he needed to go and interrogate the witch to know who sent her.
But she threw her hand around Denver, begging him to stay with her. At that moment, Denver sent Derrick a mental link to come and stay with Gwen.
Derrick came in no time, and that made Gwen loosen her hold on Denver to clench onto Derrick.
Derrick does not believe that Gwen is not somehow connected to the witch, but at the same time, he gave her a shoulder to rest on until she was relaxed.
He then sat her down to ask her why she opened her window for the witch to fly inside.
She told him that she didn’t know the bird was a witch and that she thought it was just a bird.
She said she wanted to admire it, and that was the reason she opened the door for it to come into her room.
Derrick considered her explanation for a while and, to some extent, understood what may have been her case. Moreover, the witch had yet to confess what she was doing there and who had sent her.
He then told her to try and get some sleep, as he would love to go and join Denver to find out who sent the witch.
But Gwen insists that Derrick should spend the night with her and that she has been very lonely since the triplets picked Gina over her.
At some point, she started crying and telling Derrick how much she loved him and how he was always the one who cared more about her. But all that changed since the very moment Gina came to snatch him and his brothers from her.
Derrick felt guilty, but at the same time, he tried explaining to Gwen that the reason they left her was that they were mated to Gina and that Gina had truly captured their hearts.
And that he was certain that she would find someone who would love her the same way they love Gina.
Gwen starts sobbing again as she throws her neck, and Derrick tries to placate her by gently patting her on her back.
Slowly, Gwen started placing feathery k****s on his neck and face, and even though he didn’t like what she was doing, he also did not stop her as he didn’t want to upset her any further.
He, however, asked for a glass of juice as a way of putting her off his back. And she happily got up and walked towards her fridge.
As she was about to open the door, she noticed the little can of the portion that Mara had brought for her on the floor close to the fridge.
She looked over her shoulder to see Derrick tiredly resting his head on his hand. And she connivingly picked up the potion before opening the fridge to bring out a pack of juice and two glasses.
She filled up both glasses and added a little of the sleeping potion to one of the glasses while occasionally looking over her shoulders to see if Derrick was looking her way.
Satisfied that he did not see her, she returned the juice to the fridge and carried the glass to hand over to Derrick of them while she sipped from hers.
Not thinking much of it, Derrick gulped down the entire juice in the glass and dropped the cup on the bed stool beside him.
In no time, he was starting to feel sleepy, and he stood up to tell Gwen that he was feeling sleepy and that he needed to move around to clear his eyes.
But Gwen pushed him back onto the bed and asked him to relax for a while. He did not agree with her and attempted to stand up, but the effect of the herbal potion had taken a toll on him.
Within seconds, he was already fast asleep, and Gwen was happy as she quickly moved to undress.

Back in Gina’s apartment, Devon had woken Gina from her sleep after Denver sent him a mind link of how they had captured a witch.
He asked Devon to take Gina to the main building and that there he would meet Derrick, whom he told to stay back and take care of Gwen.
This made Gina a little pensive, as she felt that there may be more of the witches coming to attack them.
Devon, however, assured her that she should not panic and that it would be better for them to head out to the main palace.
He was sure that she would feel safer there, and that some warriors outside the house had been assigned by Denver to see to it that nothing happened to them.
And when she asked about Lucia, Devon told her that the house wouldn’t be left unprotected as there were still guards parading the property and that they needed to move her to safety first.
She quickly dressed up, and they headed out to the main house as soon as they got there. Devon’s first instinct was to check on Derrick in Gwen’s room to inform him that he was around Gina.
When he and Gina got to Gwen’s door, he saw that the door was partly opened and was not thinking of knocking.
He opened the door.
Gina saw Derrick shirtless on the bed while Gwen, who was completely naked, was riding Derrick while kissing and caressing him.
A sharp pain pierced through Gina’s heart, and without thinking, she ran out of there as fast as her legs could carry her.
