Chapter 42
Jasmine
My heart raced with questions. Who were these men, and what did they want from Noah? What money were they talking about? It seemed like they came specifically for Noah but ended up involving me.
I wondered what Noah could have done to incur the wrath of these dangerous men. Just their fierce eyes were enough to send me fleeing.
I watched as the men left, my heart still pounding in my chest from the aftermath of the intense fight. I didn’t know what I would have done if Noah had gotten hurt. I let out a loud sigh of relief when they disappeared from sight.
Noah turned to me, his eyes blazing with anger. He growled again, pounding his chest as he moved closer to me. My legs trembled, and I wondered if he would take his anger out on me.
But aa he moved closer, the color of his eyes changed back to normal.
“Are you okay, Jasmine?” He asked, pulling me to himself and searching my body to see if I was hurt. “Did you get hurt? Did they hurt you?” He inquired.
I couldn’t find my voice. He had endangered his life by fighting these men armed with blades and knives. They could have hurt him, or worse, killed him, but he fought them with just his bare hands. I couldn’t comprehend what he was thinking.
“Tell me, Jasmine, are you fine?” He asked again. “Just let me know if you are not, and I will go after those scums and make them regret touching you!” he said.
I shook my head immediately. I didn’t want him to go after those men again.
“No, Noah,” I murmured. “I’m fine,” I responded, looking up at him and cupping his face. “What about you? Did you get hurt?” I was genuinely concerned. “Don’t you think you should report them so they won’t come back?” I said to him.
He smiled and pulled me closer to himself. “I’m fine, Jasmine. Those men can come back if they want. They’re just empty vessels with muscles,” he laughed as he led me into the house.
I still couldn’t stop shaking. The scene from earlier kept replaying in my head, and I couldn’t shake the fear that gnawed at me.
What if they returned? What if they came in larger numbers and attacked us when we least expected it? How would Noah defend us? These questions raced through my mind.
Noah seemed to notice my fear as we entered the house. He stopped and turned to me, holding my hands.
“Jasmine, is there something you want to say?” He asked.
I hung my head, struggling to find the words. How could I tell him that I was scared and uneasy about letting those men go without reporting them to the authorities? What if they returned, and this time, he couldn’t defeat them like before? What would happen to him? To us?
My hair had almost been yanked out of my scalp by those men until he intervened and fought them off. What if things had gone differently? What if his actions hadn’t succeeded?
He cupped my face gently. “You don’t have to worry about those men, Jasmine. They won’t come back. Trust me, if they do, I’ll send them back with broken bones and torn skin, just like I did minutes ago,” he reassured with a chuckle.
My heart raced with questions. “But, Noah…”
“Shh,” he cut me off, grabbing my waist and pulling me closer to himself. “I am always here for you, Jasmine,” he murmured, leaning closer to me. His hand roamed around my waist while the other still cupped my face. “I will always protect you.”
With that, he locked his lips with mine, but I just stood frozen and numb in his hands, unable to respond to his k**s or touch. I wasn’t in the mood for this.
The fear was still pulsing through my veins, making it difficult to push back what had happened earlier. I pulled away, breaking the k**s, and just stared into his eyes, unable to say anything or convey that I wasn’t in the right mood for his advances.
“Why did you do that?” He asked, his eyes wide open. “Why did you pull away?” He demanded, his voice hardening.
“I…I am just not in the mood for this,” I murmured.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.
He grabbed my arm, his eyes contorted with rage, and his nose flared at me.
“You are always not in the mood, Jasmine!” He yelled. “You won’t let me touch you, k**s you, or have s*x with you. Why is that?”
I shook my head, trying to free myself from his forceful grip.
“You are hurting me,” I g*****d.
“You keep pushing me away, pretending you’re not in the mood, but you scream and m**n when getting intimate with your mate,” he went on. “I can’t touch you, but they keep having their way with you whenever they want, just like the…you…”
I cut him off with a resounding slap to his face. I had only realized it after the slap, but I didn’t regret it. He deserved it for what he had said.
“How dare you slap me!” Noah yelled, pushing me onto the bed. “How dare you!” He growled, pinning me down.
“Let me go, Noah!” I screamed, struggling to get out of his grip.
“I won’t let you go. If you’re not in the mood, then I’ll put you in the mood!” he growled at me.
My mind raced. What has gotten into him? I wondered as my heart raced speedily.
Despite my fears and his heavy weight on me, I couldn’t let fear immobilize me.
“Let go of me!” I shouted again, this time using all my strength to throw his hands off me.
He lost his balance and fell to the floor. “What do you think you’re doing, Noah!” I yelled at him.
He stood up from the floor, hanging his head as if he was just getting back to his senses and realizing what he had done.
“I’m sorry, Jasmine. I really didn’t mean to do that,” he murmured and dashed out of the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts.
I fell back onto the bed, my mind racing with questions. Why did he do that? It was strange seeing him trying to force himself on me. He had never showed me this side of him.
What had gotten into him?
I wondered if it would be safe for me to keep staying with him. He had almost forced himself on me. What if I were too weak to fight him off next time? What would have happened to me?
I was scared, but my tiredness overtook me. I tried to shake off the dizziness, but soon gave in to sleep.

“No!” I jumped up from the bed, beads of sweat forming on my forehead.
My heart pounded as I remembered the nightmare that had woken me up again.
It was a dream about Mia and my mates been in some sort of danger, and I couldn’t help them. I murmured a silent prayer, hoping they were fine and that nothing would go wrong.
I looked to the other side of the bed, expecting to see Noah there, but he was nowhere to be found. My eyes went to the clock on the wall, and my heart skipped a beat when I saw the time.
It was past 11pm, and Noah was nowhere around. With all that I had experienced in Noah’s pack, staying alone in his room still kind of freaks me out.
I rushed out of the room, and walked downstairs only to be met with m***s and low cries from the sitting room.
Despite the low light in the sitting room, the tangled bodies on the sofa were clearly visible.
My legs froze on the spot. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Noah was doing this again, but this time, it was with Freya.
I wanted to scream at them and find out what they think they were doing. I wanted to move from the spot and hit them or something, but I couldn’t. My legs felt rooted to the ground, and I couldn’t move.
Despite my presence in the sitting room, Noah and freya didn’t notice as they both were busy f*****g each other brains out.
When I couldn’t take it any longer, I dragged my legs back to the room, angry. I couldn’t help but wonder how long has this been going on behind my back.
