Chapter 55
Third Person POV
“Why did you hide this from us?” Calix demanded, his face contorted with rage. “How dare he threaten you? Like what gave him that audacity?” Calix kept raging.
“Just who does he think he is? We’re going to make him pay for saying those words to you. He will pay!” Zane added.
Jasmine was already feeling overwhelmed by the whole situation. She didn’t want the brothers to fight Noah because of her and that was the reason she never wanted to tell them about Noah’s threats in the first place.
“I think we all have to be calm here. We can’t win this fight with him by acting this way,” Jasmine tried to talk them out of their anger, but she failed.
“How else are we supposed to win the fight?” Calix questioned. “Have you forgotten who you are to us? You are our mate, and no one dares to threaten our mate!”
“We will have to make him pay for doing that!” Ethan growled.
Jasmine attempted to talk to them again, but they gave her no chance. She wanted them to be calm because she had seen for herself what Noah was made of, and she believed that the fight couldn’t be won that way, but they wouldn’t listen. She rushed out and grabbed Mia’s hand, then pulled her back into the room, where the brothers were already preparing to leave.
“You should talk to your brothers and make them understand that this can’t be won this way.”
“What’s going on?” Mia furrowed.
“That i***t has been threatening her, and we have planned to make him regret every one of his words by going to his pack and showing him what it means to mess with us!” Ethan fumed.
Mia turned back to Jasmine, her hands on her shoulders. “That’s the right thing to do. Noah won’t stop until he knows who he’s dealing with. Our silence has been taken as foolishness, and we can’t keep that up. We have to show him who he’s messing with!”
Jasmine still wasn’t convinced that it was the right way to handle the situation. She didn’t want anyone to get hurt because of her and was sure that would happen if they tried to cause havoc in Noah’s pack.
“Give us his address; we have to go show him who we are!” Calix demanded.
Jasmine shook her head, stepping away from them. This was the only way to protect them from getting hurt. She wouldn’t be able to do anything more when they got to Noah’s pack.
“Give us the address, Jasmine!” Zane joined, “We have to leave now.”
Jasmine could see that they were all angry. She wished they could just calm down and see that they weren’t approaching this the right way, but they wouldn’t listen to her.
She knew that Noah wasn’t as easy as they think he was, she had watched him single-handedly fighting fierce and hefty men who looked stronger than them, and he suffered no injury or cut. She knew it wouldn’t be as easy as they think.
“Why are you trying to protect him, Jasmine?” Zane shouted, grabbing her arm and pulling her closer. “Are you so scared that we would hurt your man that you can’t give us the address?”
“What?” She exclaimed. She was only trying to protect them, but they misunderstood her.
To clear their doubts and show her support for their plan, she walked to the table, grabbed a pen and paper, and wrote down the address. She handed it over to them.
They took the piece of paper from her and stormed out of the house. They all hopped into their cars and sped away. They called some of their men who joined them on the way, forming a convoy of cars to Noah’s pack.
They wanted to instill fear in Noah’s heart so he would never mess with them again. To do that, they realized they needed more people, so they called their father’s friend, an alpha of the neighboring pack to Noah’s, and he sent his soldiers.
Ethan and his brother’s cars were the first to arrive at Noah’s pack. They got out and walked toward Noah’s apartment, brandishing sticks and rods.
“What do you want here?” one of Noah’s rogue associates questioned, his face blazing with anger. “Don’t take another step!” he warned, ready to attack.
As more cars carrying men and the pack soldiers arrived, the rogues fled, running for their lives. However, some remained, facing off against the pack soldiers.
But it didn’t take much for the rogues to be disarmed and badly beaten up. Ethan and his brothers entered Noah’s house, hoping to find him, but he had already escaped, or so they thought.
So, the soldiers and those who came with them decided to take out their anger on Noah’s belongings.
They almost set the house on fire, but the brothers stopped them, saying they would return to confront him in that very house.
Ethan had casually looked outside Noah’s bedroom window when he saw Noah running through the woods.
“There he is!” Ethan shouted, pointing in the direction where Noah had been, but he was already far away.
“Damn it!” Calix cursed in frustration. “We’ll get him one day!”

Jasmine.
I paced back and forth in the room, it had been hours since my mates left to confront Noah and create havoc in his park, but they were yet to be back.
I knew it wouldn’t be an easy one for them, I had seen Noah fighting more hefty and strong men with his bare hands even while they were with arms and blades.
I won’t be able to forgive myself should anything happen to them.
My heart raced as I paced back and forth, I could only hope and pray that they were fine, there was nothing more I could do.
All of these were happening because of me, if it hadn’t been for my stupidity, they wouldn’t have had to face anyone called Noah. If I had opened my eyes to the truth and never let the love I had for him affect my sense of judgment, I would have been able to tell his lies and realize that he was only using me in his game.
Now, my mates had gone to his pack to confront him, and I knew it wouldn’t be an easy one for them.
I walked to the door and pushed it open, looking to both sides to see if they were there or on the way, I was scared.
What if he had done something to them? What if Noah caught them and held them captive just like he did to me? What if the unexpected had happened?Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
I went back inside, murmuring a prayer under my breath, that nothing went wrong with them, that they were fine, and that they attacked the same way they left. I wouldn’t be able to deal with anything happening to them, especially when it was because of me.
Every ticking sound of the clock made my heart race, and to calm myself I folded my body at the edge of the bed while trying to keep out the worst-case scenario that could happen to them out of my head.
I was still lying down when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I shook in fear. I turned slowly to find my mates standing behind me, a loud sigh escaped my lips.
Seeing them back, hale and healthy only made me relieved, it was like the rustling of thoughts and fear inside of me disappeared.
“Y..you are back,” I murmured, as I found myself jumping out of bed and quickly sharing a hug with them.
“Yes, we are.” Calix said, “And we are sorry for accusing and not trusting you,” he added.
I shook my head, they had to go through so much stress and they have had to put up with a lot of things, just because of me. “I am sorry for keeping secrets from you guys,” I added.
Zane also moved closer, holding my hand, “You do not have to worry about him bothering you again, we have given him the greatest fear of his life, and he would never be back.”
Maybe, just maybe I underrated my mates, maybe they were stronger than I thought they were. I thought they would come back with cuts and injuries, but they sustained no cuts. I felt like I underestimated them, I was glad to have these strong men in my life, and more glad that Noah would never be back.
“Thank you,” I murmured.
“You do not have to thank us, no one dares to mess with our mate!” Zane stated.
We stood there, staring at each other, until Mia walked into our midst and clapped, jerking us all from our lost thoughts.
She turned to me, “Jasmine, you have to come with me to the mall to shop for my parent’s anniversary.” She stated, “At least I need to know more of the things you like so I can make the perfect plan for your wedding.” She teased.
I chuckled, my cheeks burning from blushing, “I will just get changed.” I said and rushed into the room.
I slid into a free gown and rushed back out to meet Mia who was already waiting for me by the car. We got in and headed for the mall.
My mind raced with thoughts as we left, on one hand, I was relieved that nothing went wrong with my mates in their encounter, on the other hand was the fear that it wasn’t over yet and Noah might come back to attack them.
Although they said they gave him the biggest scare of his life and he would never come back, I still couldn’t believe that it was over just like that and they would never be back just like they had said.
I sighed, even if he was going to be back, I was sure it would be after a while.
We got to the mall minutes later and began to search through the shelves and blocks for the perfect thing we would use for the anniversary.
As we did that, Mia cleared her throat and said, “Do you remember me going after someone during the last festival?” She asked and I nodded in response. “I still can’t get the thought of him off my head, I think there is something about that man that I need to know.”
I chuckled, I felt like the man she saw was Noah. I saw him after she left and he threatened to hurt me and my mates that night, I felt like she saw the same person. “I think the one you saw was Noah,” I stated.
She shook her head, “No, that wasn’t Noah.” She responded, “I am certain that it is not him, and there is something about this guy.”
I didn’t know if she was right about that, but I still had that lingering feeling that it was Noah.
“Do you mean Noah came here on the day of the festival?” She asked, closing the gap between us, “Did he?”
I didn’t know if I should tell her the truth or just keep it to myself. I was still contemplating what to say when I felt a tickle around my waist. I turned to find my mates behind me, a wide grin on their faces, I was confused. What were they doing here? Didn’t we leave them at home minutes ago?
“What are you doing here?” Mia asked.
“What does it look like? We’re here for you two.” Zane replied to her.
“We don’t need your three here, you don’t have to ruin our girl’s outing every time.” Mia grumbled, “You three should leave and do something else,” she added grudgingly.
They shook their head together, “If you do not want us here, we are sure Jasmine would like to have us around her.” Calix stated, with him grabbing my hand and Zane grabbing my other hand, “You do not have to worry, Mia, we are here for just Jasmine, not you.”
“Do whatever you want!” Mia grumbled and walked away.
Although I didn’t want my mates ruining my time with Mia, I still felt good having them around, and they came at the perfect time.
I was still finding it difficult to decide if I should tell Mia the truth or not, and their presence saved me.
We walked through the mall, picking out the needed things for the anniversary and some for us. Mia who was angry before later joined us.
We chatted, laughed, and had fun while picking out the needed things.
