Chapter 72
Noah’s POV:
A stiff neck and an immobile body were what I woke up to.
Those, and a fly circling my Head sending a buzzing sound through my my ears.
My lips were dry, my throat was parched. There were a lot of things water could do for me at that moment, and saving my life was just one of them.
I tried to move but I soon got to realize that I wasn’t just immobile, I was strapped to a chair with a bunch of wires running over my body.
Over my head was the only source of light in the room. A bulb connected to the ceiling by a mere crooked piece of wire that had it dangling a little now and then. For some time I had gotten a little scared that it might just fall on top of my head.
“f*****g Chase!”
We had planned everything together, but when I needed him the most, he was nowhere to be found.
That bastard preyed on my desperation and promised to help me get revenge for my father’s death, but it was all just a lie.
I should have known better than to trust a rogue. All his promises were all too good to be true. He swayed me with the whole bullshit of being my father’s friend and confidant.
1 thought I could rely on him, but I finally realized he used me to gain support and respect from the other rogues. My status as Noah Blackwood was all he needed to put the icing on his cake.
All he needed to do was make them think he and I were allies. He set me up to die in the Slivermoon pack. He must be patiently waiting for news of my death. So he could go to the rogue leaders with a new sob story of how the same people who murdered my father, murdered me as well.
I promised myself that if I had any opportunity to escape. I would kill Chase before I ended the lives of this miserable family.
In the room I was kept, I could hear several strange voices floating around. My ears buzzed. My head hurt. My belly ached. My entire body reverberated with pain.
A familiar tone of voice squeezed through my ears. I didn’t want to believe it at first. I hoped everything had been a terrible dream.
“Please, I need to see him, he’s my son, please just let me see him,” she pleaded to whoever was on the other side of the door.
***k!” I cursed, as the door opened, letting in a stream of light rays that stung my eyes.
“I thought I taught you better than to say such bad words, Noah,” the voice, now clearer, seemed to call out my name.
I squinted my eyes to see who was talking, as a figure filtered through the light like the moon in a solar eclipse.
The figure seemed to spy outside like it was checking for something, then turned and walked up to me.
“Mom?” | cried out once my eyes got used to the light.
“Shh!” She hushed me, placing a finger between my lips vertically while looking into my eyes.
Her eyes told me more than any word could ever do. I saw in her glare a woman wishing to bask in just how much she had told me not to have undergone the actions that had put me in the situation I had found myself, but still care for me.
Almost like she intuitively knew just how thirsty I was, she brought a bottle of water from her purse and bottle-fed me like an infant wolf again.
My body quaked from the feeling of the water running down my throat. It felt like I had been living for so long without water, and I was just getting blessed by it at that instant.
When I was done she went into a short burst of scolding.
“Look what you’ve gotten yourself into, Noah,” she began.
“Did I not tell you that this would end badly for us? For you?”
I couldn’t even stare at her anymore, for the shame ffelt “-I’m sorry Mom,” I muttered, staring down to the floor like if I had a chance of rewriting my wrongs I would. I only hoped I wouldn’t end up in the same situation at that moment.
She got behind me as silently and carefully as she could, dropping off a piece of metal into my hands folded back.
“use this and escape,” she whispered. I felt the metal more and realized it was a blade. “And please, forget about killing anyone, I need my son safe and with me. Just get out of here.”
“Do not kill anyone,” I repeated as she went out just as she had come in.
Did she mean that? That was the reason I was here in the first place, I can’t just abandon my mission, I won’t.
When I was sure she had left, and the atmosphere reeked of silence, I got myself free from the ropes that bound me to the chair and the wires that were draped over me.
I couldn’t believe my mom was the one to have saved me. I wish I could try my best to escape without being spotted by any of the soldiers or anyone else. But killing them was exactly something I wanted to do.
After stretching my body once I had been free from such bondage, I immediately went off towards the door with the blade in my hand.
The guards didn’t expect a thing when I poked my head out and before they could react, I had given one a s***h to his throat, leaving the other one shocked as b***d spluttered out.
He came up at me but I was quick enough to evade his attack. I hit him with my elbow, bringing b***d to his nose as he fell to the ground. I took out the knife from the first guard’s pocket and stuck it into the chest of the second one. It hit his heart.
He grunted. His b***d splashed on my face I only blinked so l wouldn’t get it in my eyes.
I picked up the guns they had on them, tucked one at my back, and held the other in my hands as I went out in search of the brothers and their fathers.
I moved from the place I was kept and headed for the main house, sneaking in through the back door, moving slowly around the house looking for signs of where they could be.
I found them in the living room with the three Alphas talking. I also heard my name, so I figured they were talking about me. Dirty swine.
They were surprised as they saw me, laden with arms. I could even sense fear. They were all there except for Gina, Mia, Jasmine and her parents. I assumed they must be at the hospital.
I didn’t want to waste more time so l immediately pressed the trigger and sent bullets flying towards Zane, but before the bullets got to him, Denver materialized out of thin air, catching the bullets with his body, as he flew across the room
With Denver down, the others were sneering at me, in their eyes were anger, and the desire to tear me apart. But they knew better than to move with the weapons in my hand.
“You have no idea how long I have waited for this moment,” I said, pointing the gun at them.
“Who are you? What do you want?” Derrick thundered.
“What do I want? You ask what I want?” I sneered “How about what you took from me? What you took from my mother and I?” My question was directed at the triplet’s fathers, who were giving me cold stares, but they knew better than to move.
I saw the look of desperation and frustration in their eyes.
Denver’s body was sprawled across the room. Their first instinct was to save him, but I held the gun, as well as the power.
“Tell us who you are, son,” Derrick spoke for the first time since I entered the room.
“I am not your son, you fool,” I growled. I am Noah Blackwood, the son of Hunter Blackwood, whom you murdered like a pig. I am here to send a message to him, which you all will deliver. Tell him I finally got the bastards who murdered him.” I yelled at him with my hand tightly wrapped around the gun in my hand.
All of a sudden, I felt the sting of the tears in my eyes, I had no idea where they were coming from, it felt like all the pain I had managed to suppress over the years was finding its way to the surface.
They ruined my life, as well as that of my mum. Everything 1 am is thanks to them. They created a monster out of Blackwood, it was time they paid for their atrocities.
Your father had what he got coming, he teamed up with an enemy, and he got what every traitor gets, Devon said.
And if I can remember vividly, you three idiots are married to the daughter of the mastermind behind everything that happened,” I said, repulsed at how stupid Gina was for allowing herself to be f****d by the same monsters who killed her father.
Well, her father committed the crimes and not her, the same way we never bothered coming after you and your mother when your father died, Devon replied.
“Well, too bad you have lost your chance, now it is my turn,” I said.
1c****d my gun and took aim, I was about to shoot when Devon stood up and raced towards me but not before I let off another round of bullets at him, piercing him right I’m the stomach.
Derrick also lunged at me, but I shot him as well.
Happiness and satisfaction surged through me as their bodies dropped to the ground. But my victory was put to a halt when I saw Ethan with a gun.So, before anyone else could retaliate, I was already on my heels, racing out of the premises in no time. This text is © NôvelDrama/.Org.
Ethan who had a gun tucked into his waistline, aimed it at me, but I was already halfway out of his sight as he shot.
The bullets did nothing but graze my shoulder as I ran out, sending shivering pain across my body.
I could hear them racing towards me, I ran as fast as l could, but what I didn’t know was my death was in front of me, not behind me.
The three brothers were closing in on me, l aimed my gun one last time in an attempt to send them to hell where they belonged, but I was stopped by a rain of shots fired at me by a man who I could barely recognize.
My eyes struggled to remain open, the bullets were many, I felt my body weaken, my legs gave in and I fell with a loud thud.
The man stood over me for a minute and his gaze was the coldest I had ever seen. Who the f**k was he?
I guessed I would never find out, not with the pain surging through me, not with the amount of b***d gushing out of my body.
“No, I can’t die like this, I just can’t,” I said more like a chant, as I tried to crawl my way out of the pack.
The tears that once stung my eyes began to fall. B***d was gushing out from different parts of my body, as I got weaker by the moment.
My mind flashed back to my mother and I knew she would be more than devastated if anything should happen to me.
For a second 1 wished I had listened to her, I wished I had loved my mate a little more.
I g*****d tiredly as b***d kept oozing from my mouth and nostrils, I could hear the brother’s feet step closing in on me, and using the last surge of energy, I crawled on the floor hoping to get away, but there was only a little I could do to escape.
The three brothers finally caught up with me, Ethan pointed the gun he was holding at me, ‘say hello to daddy,” he said, what followed was a loud bang, and I was sent to eternal darkness.
