Chapter 34 I'll Make Her Pay

Claire ignored the people gossiping about her and drove back home.She went to bed that night and drifted off to a peaceful sleep.

The next morning, when Claire was in deep sleep, her phone rang.

"Hello?"

Claire answered the phone without looking at the caller ID.

"Claire, you have become a trending topic again!"

Claire sighed and sat up on the bed.

"I'm not surprised.This isn’t the first time, anyway," she muttered, yawning.

"Do you know what time it is now?"

She rubbed her eyes and looked at the clock.

Haylee grew agitated.

"Did you have a conflict with that bitch on the film set yesterday? God, I guess she's behind this again.The news says you were jealous of Sierra, so you pushed her on purpose.Several people claiming to be the crew members of the film have anonymously revealed they saw you pushing her!"

"That's it?"

Claire yawned again.She wanted to sleep, but Haylee’s phone call seemed to wake her up completely.She had no choice but to get up.

"All right.I'll read the news first.Talk to you later!"

Claire hung up the phone, got up, and poured herself a glass of water.

Then, she plopped on the chair and browsed the news.

As expected, Claire pushing Sierra had become a hot topic.

Although there were no pictures or videos to prove the statement, several anonymous people supported Sierra and gave their testimony.

There were thousands of comments under Sierra's post.It was one of the most shared posts on the internet.Her statement was brief and concise.

She had attached a picture of medicine and gauze along with it.

The comments were all from Sierra's gullible fans.

They all supported Sierra and requested her to take good care of herself whilst abusing Claire.

"They are divorced, but she is still after Darren and is ruining Sierra's life.Claire is jealous of her.She has used her connections to join the crew."

"Thank God, Mr.Sampson divorced such a vicious woman.My prince charming deserves my goddess.Fuck off, Bitch! Don't you dare mess with their life!"

Claire called Haylee after reading the comments.

"I did push her.But she asked for it."

Claire briefly explained what had happened yesterday, and Haylee couldn't hold back her anger anymore.

"Damn it! I have never seen such a vindictive bitch! Claire, would you like to clarify the incident and expose her true color?"

"Do you think people would believe me? It's not going to make any difference.People only believe what they want to."

Haylee understood what she meant.

"So, what are you going to do?"

Claire thought about it for a while.

"Sierra wants me to post a counter statement on the internet and quarrel with her.If I do that, it would only work to her advantage.She would pretend to be innocent and gain more popularity.Why should I do that and give her the attention?"

"You're right.But we can't just sit back and watch them abuse you, can we?"

Haylee grunted impatiently, "If she continues to push my buttons, I will join hands with other production companies and ban her from the industry.иσνєℓєвσσк.¢σмLet's see what she'll do then."

Claire rolled her eyes.

The Carter family held an influential position in the entertainment industry.

Haylee had the power to ban Sierra and end her career.But Claire didn't want her todo so.

"Forget about Darren.Imagine how your brother would react if he finds out that you are using your family's power and influence to fulfill your personal wishes?"

Haylee fell silent.

Claire guessed that perhaps Haylee's brother was already aware of everything.He wouldn't scold Haylee but would end up nagging her.

After a moment's thought, Claire said, "Sierra is constantly provoking me.I will not tolerate this anymore.I'll make her pay the price for it."

Claire pursed her lips; her eyes gleamed with excitement.

"You know what? I have this sudden urge to defeat her and take away what she's most proud of."

"So what are you going to do?" Haylee asked expectantly.

"She is passionate about acting, right? She has been in the entertainment circle for many years and struggled to achieve success."

Claire laughed to herself.

"I'll end her acting career!"
