Chapter 22

“Yes please, help yourself.” Adams said sarcastically, and shook his head. I laughed as he called for the waitress again.

“You won’t have to deal with my shit for much longer He answered ‘revealing his half–chewed food.

“Nobody wants to see that.” I groaned and pushed his face away, not before he anagged a fry from my plate.Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

“What’s that? I asked looking over his shoulder.

“Email. From my agent.” He answered scrolling through the message. “I got an invite for an audition. Nice.” He finished casually, tossing the phone on the table and taking another bite of the chicken wrap.

“Can I see that?”

new order!

He handed the phone to me without a second thought. As the waitress took down Adams skimmed through the mail. Fantasy movie… “esteemed crew. They really wanted to keep it as secret as possible. A script was attached to he email and a date for his audition.

Zombies didn’t count as fantasy right?

“Stop hitting on everything in a skirt.” Adams scolded Jace as I handed him back the phone. “What’s the audition about?”

“There’s not a lot to go by.” I described the contents of the email.

“If they’re being this secretive it either a really big deal..”

“… Or the work of a child–loving foot fetish psycho.” Jace finished snagging another fry.

I was going to say crazy but I guess that works too. What if they only wanted one person from our show? Since Jace got the email, that would be it for me. Adams flashed me a smile and gave my hand a supportive squeeze. I smiled back.

“His script, what’s in it?”

“Nothing major, three sentences

“They’re going to choose actors with that?”

“They could have a star spotter, like Bowen.” Jace added.

“He hasn’t produced or directed anything in years- his appearance is as coveted as much as big foot.” There was no way he could be on this project. Or could he…

Jace stopped his rabid chewing and looked thoughtful. “Let me see that.” He grabbed his phone and reopened the email, scrolling through it. “Does anyone know a Gavin O’Malley?”

I didn’t recognize the name, but Adams had gotten completely still.

“If Bowen is big foot, O’Malley is the fucking sasquatch.”

Jace chuckled. “It’s big.”

Gold pizza

Sam had moved some of the stuff and boxed them up in the living room. I helped pack them into the cab I hired. They were mostly nick–knacks to help her feel more at home in her new place. My heart broke when she asked me what happened to my arm with a concerned look on her face.

The payment was done; all we had to deal with was the possible tantrum she would throw when we moved her. Sam though it was better to keep the news until the last second.

“If she thought you moved her for an emergency, she would be less likely to take it badly.”

While we packed, I could not stop myself from checking my phone repeatedly for any message from Hannah. By the end of the evening, I was exhausted and there was still no text from Hannah.

At–least Lily was home when I decided it was time to leave.

I had already briefed her of her own living arrangements till I could sort myself out. I hoped it would be sooner rather than later.

When I entered the apartment, I pulled off my shoes and padded in the darkness to my bedroom. The plan was to plop on my favorite chair, eat Pizza and probably fall asleep till I had to be at the house the next day.

I jumped when I discovered the figure in the darkness.

“For God’s sake Pierce, you’re not batman.” I hissed throwing myself on the bed.

“I am as rich as him, that’s one foot in the door.” He answered drily and switched on the swan shaped lamp beside him.

I

“What do you want?” I asked cattily as I sat crossed leg, with the steaming box of pizza in my lap.

He raised a brow. Right.

“I’m not really in the mood, Pierce.” His eyes narrowed slightly.

“This is a first.” It was, and I hated to admit it. I was always in the mood for Pierce. Granted I always thought of him as…home. “I guess my proposition wasn’t good enough for you.”

I froze as his words registered in my head. Anger welled up in my chest. I was glad. I would rather have anger, than tears spilling from my eyes.

“I’m sorry Pierce, God forbid I have one single day where I don’t feel like…” I looked away from his silhouette.

There was no need to pretend this was something other than what it was. A transaction. I slid the box of my lap and rip my t–shirt and bra off in one movement. repeated the same action with my jeans and underwear albeit with a lot more struggling.

I made each action stiff and unappealing. I just wanted to get the job done. I cursed when I was finally free from the clingy material.

My relationship with Pierce was supposed to be just physical. That was what he paid me for, to be a little doll representation of his real Tami. It didn’t matter if I was having a bad day, My purpose was to please.

Throughout the time of our relationship, I followed Pierce’s lead. Zero touch was given, I only reciprocated unless I was told otherwise. But tonight I reached for him, I didn’t wait for him to gingerly get up and look around me the way that made shivers climb up my spine. Or wait to hear his commanding voice giving me his next orders…

I straddled Pierce and kissed him, pushing my frustrations into it. I thought about the cut I inflicted at his office and nipped him on the lip, then sucked on it with more ferocity. His fingers tightened on me and he moved his head back to escape the onslaught of my lips. Being on him gave me the upper hand in this situation.
