Heartstrings on Fire (Agnes and Jared)

Chapter 501

Chapter 501

Later, the staff joked that even an earthquake wouldn’t stop their CEO from having a meeting.

But who would’ve thought a kid could make him pause such an important shareholder meeting to take

him out to eat,

This was totally unexpected!

Leo started to wonder if the kid was the CEO’s secret love child.

But the CEO wasn’t gone for long.

He came back pretty quickly.

The meeting went on, but the kid didn’t show up again.

Everyone was a bit curious.

Where did this kid go?

When Leo went to the CEO’s office to get some documents, he found Mr. K had arrived and was

playing with the kid.

No wonder the kid wasn’t brought back to the meeting robm. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.

Mr. K was the company’s cybersecurity director.

Word on the street was, he was once a top international hacker.

Loads of big international companies had tried to hire him, but they all got rejected.

He and Jared were tight.

Rumor had it they were family friends and grew up together.

Jared treated him like a younger brother.

Jared pulled all sorts of strings to get him to be the cybersecurity director at the branch office.

When Leg walked in, all he heard was Mr. K and the kid discussing something about a DDoS attack.

Leo didn’t understand a word.

He didn’t expect this kid to carry a conversation like that.

They were discussing high–level hacker jargon, and it was quite the sight.

But Leo didn’t think much of it.

He grabbed the documents and headed back to the meeting room.

When he got back, he was taken aback.

The meeting room’s network had suddenly crashed.

The company had its own network and security systems.

This kind of thing had never happened before.

Normally, the company’s defense system was rock–solid and should’ve been able to handle this.

Because once the network crashes, the entire company’s work has to stop.

Even if it’s just for three seconds, the losses can be enormous.

Jared was also a bit surprised and furrowed his brows.

Before anyone could react to what was happening.

The meeting room’s network suddenly came back online.

Everyone thought it was just a small problem.

So, no one paid much attention.

Half an hour later, the meeting ended.

Jared returned to his office.

Léo followed behind.

Just as they opened the door.

Mr. K ran up quickly, grabbed Jared’s arm, and pointed at the kid on the sofa drinking milk, saying,

“Jared, where the hell did this kid come from? He’s terrifying.” Jared was puzzled, “What happened?”

Mr. K still looked shocked, “This kid used hacking techniques to remotely shut down one of the

company’s internal network routers, causing the entire network to crash, Jared, don’t you think he’s a

monster? He’s just a kid. My hard–built defense system was hacked by a kid, I can’t believe it, this boy

must be a monster.” The little boy looked up, his expression calm, “Sir, you asked me to destroy the network system here. I did as you asked, why are you calling me a monster?” Mr. K was utterly

stunned, “He just called me a noob, he actually called me a noob, I’m a top five global hacker, and he

called me a noob, a noob!”
